CARDIFF CITY 0 HULL CITY 2

Crowd 13,763

My Opinion

WHAT A DIFFERENT MATCH THAN SATURDAY AND GUESS WHAT? WE LOST

Crowd got behind City from the start tonight :ayatollah: City played their best football so far this season, But thanks to the worst Ref I've seen for years and City unable to score after attack after attack our unbeaten run finally came to end

We even clapped the City team off at the final whistle and Booed the Ref off :ayatollah:

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=145418 :ayatollah:

City Team
Marshall Peltier Fabio Connolly Plikington Dikgacoi whittingham Ralls Jones and Mason

Subs : Moore Ameobi Manga Gunnarsson Noone Revell Malone

City started this game 2nd in the League and unbeaten this season, whilst Hull City were 6th in the League, but yet to win an away game.

With In 9 minutes City were 1 nil down  now the real test was on.

4 penalty appeals for City all turned down during the first half.

Fabio playing his heart out :ayatollah:

A Ref who gave every decision against us :o :o

Excellent passing by City and football, but did we create many real chances?

Half-time

CITY 0 HULL 1

Manga on for Connolly :ayatollah:

62 mins Ameobi on for Pilkington :thumbright:

More penalty appeals turned down for handballs :o

City attacked and attacked and at some stages nearly conceded on the breaks by Hull

78mins Craig Noone on for Ralls

80th min 2 nil to Hull City

CARDIFF CITY 0 HULL CITY 2

My man of the match Fabio :thumbright:

We honestly never deserved to lose.

Up next bottom of the table Rotherham away this Saturday :thumbright:

Sadly what happens when you keep hitting high balls and don't mix things up. Don't think we created a clear chance tonight :(

The team or Slade cant be blamed tonight we gave it everything I thought Hull parked the bus and picked us off it was always going to be difficult with one of the best managers in the champ in Steve Bruce and some of his Prem league standard players helped by an incompetent ref roll on Rotherham. :thumbright: :sladein: :ayatollah:

You have a good point there, we played all the football without creating clear cut chances

Annis sounds on the face of it very unlucky, one of those nights that come around every now and again. All about bouncing back on Saturday now in a very winnable game. :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

Brilliant game by City, Awful Ref, We dominated without actually creating anything in front of goal

That Joe Mason is still getting games is rediculous, at this point. He offers is absolutely nothing, and yet there is no obvious competition for his spot.

That said, what a performance from the boys. Didn't deserve to lose that, and whilst our lack of creativity was a problem, I honestly feel that the referee has cost us this game. Absolutely shocking, summed up by his chicken shit decision to wait until the 90th minute to book their keeper.

Mason not at his best tonight in front of goal

I never blame Refs, this one was the worst I've seen for many a year

Haven't enjoyed a game like that for years. Lost my voice. I didn't see that performance coming tonight.

Haven't enjoyed a game like that in a long time, and we lost. Great football but hull were defensively superb with Dawson and Davies and we couldn't break them down. First twenty minutes crowd was dead, Fabio livened us up and it was a good effort from the loyal fans. That's football, you won't see many teams like that this year. Players full of passion, best moment Fabio having a standing ovation for his desire. If we play like that most weeks we will win a lot of matches, massive positives. A marathon not a sprint, Cardiff have come a long way on the pitch. The fans chanted them off, next game

Great post mate, sounds like we were very unlucky. Still a very solid start to the season, main Saturday and then pick up a win vs Charlton sets us up for trip to the Amex. International break and 19-20 points on the board would be a brilliant start.

So angry after that game, we had no luck with the bounce of the ball, the ref or anything. We looked alot better then Hull in every area other then the forwards.

Mason did'nt get much, Kenwyn tried hard but we were too 1 diemnsion in the attack but we dont have much option up front.

Fabio was great, if he keeps playing like that some prem teams will be interested gave it all all game.

Still think Morrison needs to learn to head the ball

Annis good to see you again :thumbright:

We were very unlucky today, and I was shocked that the league think that ref is up to Championship level? The linesman on the left side of their defence was awful too.

Can't complain about the performance tonight, especially from Fabio and Kenwyne Jones :ayatollah:

Re: ' WHAT A DIFFERENT MATCH THAN SATURDAY & GUESS WHAT? '

Tue Sep 15, 2015 9:19 pm

We'll play worse than that and win this season but we needed to be smarter as their centre halves were up for a battle with Jones and sadly Mason doesn't have the pace to hurt teams.

Got to bounce back straight away with a win on Saturday ? :bluescarf:

Agreed the crowd was great tonight, Ref was a Joke, their goalie was wasting time from the moment they first scored and he books him at right at the end of normal time, great save by their defender, but the reality was we never looked like scoring tonight, didn't really create anything, but the players gave their all again and on another day could have won. :ayatollah:

Great game....Mason will barely get into double figures but the rise and rise of Joe Ralls shows no sign of stopping. I pray to the alter of Peter Whittingham every night but i am starting to think the unthinkable :o

There was more fight and spirit and will to win than I've seen in a long, long time. It's gutting that we couldnt test their keeper. Despite the defeat I really enjoyed it. Our passing at times was breathtaking.
How insane does that sound? I wonder what Bruce says about it? Hull were BATTERED.

Re: ' WHAT A DIFFERENT MATCH THAN SATURDAY & GUESS WHAT? '

Tue Sep 15, 2015 9:35 pm

Crowd was not big but thanks to the canton stand singing and whit helped by ninian and the very empty family stand did back the players

The game would of been so much different had one or two legit penalty had been given

on a plus I thought the passing was spot on just a few crosses Jones just could not connect with mason missed a sitter first two minutes just missing left hand post

Fabio was battling - running - passing and creating for 94 mins definitely man of the match

Peltier seemed to get drafted into a few tussles but showed he takes no nonsense

Nice to see Marshall disposing of the ball and keeping play moving usually quite slow in releasing but was spot on tonight

overall referee clearly spoilt the game card happy and I would like a share of his winnings :bluescarf: :bluebird:

Well done to the squad and fans :ayatollah:

Probably the most enjoyable game in football terms in years.

Shame about that second goal though, killed the optimism right off :(

We will play much worse than we did tonight and win games. I thought the ref was crap aswell,he was so inconsistent and pulled us back for a free flick,a couple of times, when we had the advantage. Anyone know why Connolly was taken off?

Hull City produced a clinical performance to inflict a first defeat of the season on Cardiff City.

Mohamed Diame seized on sloppy Cardiff defending to fire Hull into an early lead.

The Bluebirds pressed for an equaliser but were frustrated by their opponents, who sealed victory with Abel Hernandez's late drilled effort.

Hull's win sees them climb to third in the Championship table, leapfrogging Cardiff, who slip to sixth.

Having guided his team to three straight wins, Cardiff manager Russell Slade named the same side for the fourth successive game.

But Hull were well prepared and their sturdy 5-3-2 formation stifled their in-form opponents.

Cardiff were close to taking a fortuitous lead in the fifth minute when Kagisho Dikgacoi's mishit cross floated over Hull goalkeeper Alan McGregor but was cleared at the back post.

An open start saw both sides attack at a high tempo, and there was an element of luck to Hull's opener.

Cardiff centre-backs Sean Morrison and Matt Connolly both failed to clear Sone Aluko's cross, leaving an unmarked Diame to blast in from close range.

Hull seemed content to protect their lead, the visitors' five-man defence repelling a flurry of free-kicks and corners from their opponents.

The second half followed a similar pattern, Steve Bruce's organised outfit dealing comfortably with Cardiff pressure, which was wholehearted but lacked cutting edge.

Dikgacoi headed wide from a Peter Whittingham free-kick and Bruno Ecuele Manga mishit a shot from the edge of the box as the home side struggled to create genuine scoring opportunities.

Cardiff's bluntness in attack was punished with nine minutes left as Diame's lofted pass found Hernandez, who chested the ball down and shot low beyond David Marshall into the bottom corner.
