Thousands queue outside the ground and miss the kick-off
As Wales kicked-off their potentially momentous Euro 2016 qualifying match with Israel, there were plenty of empty seats inside the Cardiff City stadium due to a backlog of fans still queuing outside.
It is believed several thousand supporters with tickets for the Group B clash were stranded in the car park through no fault of their own as the opening 15 minutes played out in the South Wales sunshine.
As photos posted on social media show, fans were queuing round the block as patience levels were tested to the limited with ticket-holders knowing they could miss out on something historic.
Those who had not counted on there being strict security measures in place at Cardiff City's ground will have missed the hair-raising Welsh national anthem and a glorious chance for the home side to take the lead.
Andy King was put through by Hal Robson-Kanu after eight minutes, but his shot was saved with the legs by Ofi Marciano and Aaron Ramsey headed the rebound wide.
By the time those outside the ground had entered the stadium, Israel had began to show signs of handling the cacophony of noise generated in support of Chris Coleman's men.

Too many left it until the last minute.
Today of all days , time to get to the ground early rather than stretch out another beer.
We got there 4.30 and walked straight in

Rubbish, Stadium nowhere near up to a premiership standard, to have people waiting for a big game like this is appalling. Just shows how you are miles behind in every department
Sun Sep 06, 2015 7:11 pm
Probably the same people still on the piss when I left town.

Grow up...

Its not a home game in the championship in a less than half full stadium.
Uefa sanctioned game all bags needed to be checked......
Hope the last pint was worth it.
In a 4:30, no hassle

Get to the ground early people, lets not knock security.
Sun Sep 06, 2015 7:24 pm
Changed the system.

We tried at 430. Gate 4.
Got in just befre kick off.
Sun Sep 06, 2015 7:29 pm
Gate 9 was ok at that time..
Sun Sep 06, 2015 7:30 pm
Got there at 4:30 and sat down just as anthem started. Queues did seem a bit excessive compared to normal. However I enjoyed seeing Jonny Owen complaining to stewards. I was just waiting for him 2 say 'do you know who I am?!'
Sun Sep 06, 2015 7:36 pm
Idiots should turn up on time then, it was obvious there would be congestion with the numbers. What a daft story, I put my hand in the fire then moaned to everyone i got burnt

Only football stadium in Wales which IS up to Premiership standard.
60-70% bigger than the Liberty.
If you took the caravan off the back of your Lada you might have got there in enough time
Sun Sep 06, 2015 7:54 pm
I believe security was a bit more tight cos we were playing Israel demonstrations n all .
Five o'clock koff get there early ffs
Sun Sep 06, 2015 8:01 pm
Anything with Israel adds security.......Probably the highest terrorist rated game we have ever played.....
I went to Costco yesterday and was surprised by the amount of stewards circling around the car parks
Sun Sep 06, 2015 8:06 pm
No exuse why wait until aftet 4.30 to get to ground? Went in at 4,20 no problems despite the security! Only complaint is maybe announcement in media about secutrity beforehand.
Sun Sep 06, 2015 8:06 pm
Haha idiots, should know better

Remember at Reading away a few years back where we had to wait for about an hour to get in and missed first 20 minutes
Sun Sep 06, 2015 8:46 pm
There were problems. Got to gate 4 at 4.25 and got in just after the anthems.
Sun Sep 06, 2015 8:51 pm
Was never that bad in the prem.
Sun Sep 06, 2015 9:13 pm
Is it just me that missed any warning from the FAW that searches would be much higher than normal?
I'll admit, I probably should have finished off my drink a bit quicker, but at no other time has getting to the ground just under 30 minutes before kick off been a problem, yet today the halfway point of the queues to get into the canton were at Lidl roughly. Every turnstile seemed to have a problem

The library is a fine specimen of stadium isnt it?! I remember going to a welsh friendly there v Swizerland a few years ago and it was one of the worst grounds I've visited. Long queues to get in for such a small stadium, the facilities were appalling and the concourses were small and dour. I can safely say I wont choose to go to the liability again.
How's the expansion going? or are you still trying to pull a fast one over your council and local businesses again. I'm glad swansea council are holding strong and stopping progress as it'll teach Huw for avoiding the rental payments for so long. Enjoy your time in your cinema sized monstrosity.

Small man syndrome. You are temporarily playing Premiership football in a second-rate stadium that is located in a third-rate parochial non-entity 'city'. Its all you have. As you are clearly thick, try to think of your football club as the only white tooth in an otherwise mouthful of rotten, pus-oozing putrid molars. That is your reality. Now off you-fuck lad, that methadone won't drink itself. Dick-Splash.

We had no problem at all. Parked in the stadium, got searched, and straight through gate 3. Surely people would have expected a bit more security with Israel, and perhaps given it a bit more time?

In hindsight, I can see why there would be more security checks for this particular game, but I don't think many people would have thought about it before the game

Came out of sandmartin about 4.30 & massive queues for gates 3,4 5 etc..Our tickets were for gate 11& I thought shit going to miss the start, but absolutely no one in front of us just walked straight in.
Sun Sep 06, 2015 10:34 pm
I was one of those in that queue. Took everyone by surprise
