MY VIEW :ayatollah:

" SLADE PLAYS SOME OF HIS BETTER PLAYERS AND WINS COMFORTABLY "

Today due to a virus, Slade was forced to start Fabio and Kenwyne Jones and then later bring star player Ameobi on and for me.
City today controlled the match and a defeat never looked in doubt against a strong Wolves team. :ayatollah:

City always looked solid in defence :ayatollah:

Sadly the lowest crowd ever in the stadium, even with tickets at £10 :o

City climb to 7th in the League :ayatollah:

Cardiff City 2 Wolves 0 :thumbright: :thumbright:

Crowd 14,820

Away Support 1,030

Cardiff City: Marshall, Fabio, Peltier, Morrison, Connolly, Whittingham, Dikgacoi, Ralls, Pilkington, Jones, Mason.
Subs: Moore, Ecuele Manga, Gunnarsson, Noone, Ameobi, Doyle, Revell.

City with 3 games behind them, undefeated but without a win, needed to win this and give the City faithful something to cheer about.

Wolves come into this game on back of defeat, they threw away two goal lead against QPR.

For me the first 20 minutes was even stevens and City's best chance came from a shot by Mason in the 18th minute :ayatollah:

25th Minute Joe Mason had a goal disallowed for a borderline off side decision ? Hmmmmmmm

In the 39th minute City nearly paid the price for going to sleep and but thankfully Wolves had a clear cut chance that they headed wide.

In the 44th minute a brilliant header by Kenwyne Jones put City 1-0 up :thumbright: :ayatollah:
That's why Jones should start every week.

Half-time

CCFC 1 WOLVES 0 :ayatollah:

Good defending by Wolves in the 52nd minute stopped Kenwyne Jones from scoring his second goal.

56th minute Jones went off injured to be replaced by Ameobi.

59th minute GOAL strike by Ameobi :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

City were in total control now.

71st minute Ameobi made a brilliant run to then shoot wide, excellent football.

88th minute Manga on for a tired Fabio .

93rd minute Joe Mason in my opinion missed a sitter.

My man of the match FABIO :thumbright:

GREAT WIN AND DESERVEDLY :ayatollah:

CARDIFF CITY 2 WOLVES 0 :thumbright: :ayatollah:

Up next Nottingham Forest Away next Saturday :ayatollah:

Annis that's unfair, we knew Jones had a calf strain and wasn't quite ready so he probably wasn't forced to start him today.

Who would you start Fabio instead of? Obviously Malone has the virus so couldn't play today, but he doesn't deserve to be dropped after his first 3 performances. I missed the game today as I'm currently away but I've spoken to a few people (non Cardiff fans) and they said Fabio was good. But most of them said Whittingham looked a class above the rest and Kenwynne.

Happy with that Annis. Looked stronger and had more hunger than Wolves. Fabio was MOM in my eyes. We have so much quality and strength in depth....look at the bench!!
I'd still love to see Noone involved but overall its looking good!

I'm aware that you are but can you really drop one of our stand out players so far? Would you not drop Peltier and switch Fabio to the right?

The goal was disallowed because Mason kicked the ball out of the keepers hands very harsh decision

Would Amoebi have been brought on if Jones wasn't injured ?

I doubt it .

Another words tonights team picked itself .

Revell at least didn't come on .

Nice to see us up to 7th but arms folded Slade doesn't impress .

I'm also a Peltier fan,but if Malone continues to get better, then that's a good option :ayatollah:

Slades job was to cut millions off the wage bill and stabilise us in the league, he did that
We are unbeaten and made a very good start to the season.
:sladein: :sladein: definetly for me

The quality of the players we finally played and some credit has to go to Slade As he trains them and managed them through out the game :ayatollah:

It's a good debate and a good problem to have two performing players there.

Doubt Jones will start at forrest though looks like his ankle is bad, gutted.

Malone to return at left back and Fabio on the right, won't happen though!

Re: MY VIEW " SLADE PLAYS SOME OF HIS BETTER PLAYERS AND "

Sat Aug 22, 2015 8:11 pm

Fabio started off very ropey today, but grew well into the game. A lot of his brave clearances were to no one. He played very well and fully deserved to be motm. Would I start him in front of malone? No, definitely not. Would I start him ahead of peltier? Not sure, as peltier is very solid and did nothing wrong.

very difficult choices, but better these dificulties than not having the option.

Wolves had the tossing it around at the back then the diagonal long ball to the corner tactic which Fabs ate up, constantly out jumping his opponent

MoM had to be Ralls. But that midfield looks balanced with players and battlers, just need a bit of pace up front which Sammi looks like he has and we could be a decent unit.

As good as Fabs was today, Malone should keep the jersey, especially away.
