I think if the team performs to full potential then we can definitely be around the fringes of going up. I detest Tan because of the rebrand, but we are dreaming if we think someone will come in and clear all of our debt.

This forum can be very negative, but it's all about opinions. SLADE IN, TAN OUT

I think it's unlikely that the team will push for automatic promotion and also unlikely to finish in a play off position.I believe there will be six teams at least that will achieve a greater points total over the season.
I don't think Slade has the experience to achieve a push at this level, and will eventually be sacked when it becomes untenable for him to continue.
However he was chosen so must be given a chance to show what he can do.
Give the man support not grief as that only makes his job more difficult from the outset and remember Rome wasn't built in a day. There are many if's and buts regarding the re-brand and Tan but it's happened and can't be changed.
Come on Mr Slade, prove your worth and get this club smiling again.

Who believes City will go up this season- Yes, we have a chance via the play offs.

Who is happy in mid table-'We need to regroup, mid table is fine but we should aim to kick on a bit more.

Are you happy with the management- Slade yes, Tan no, Dalman and Choo seem alright :bluescarf: :sladein:

Do you want to see Tan continue owning this club- In an ideal world, no, but realistically, who is going to come in and clear all our debt.

Re: " OK LETS ALL BE HONEST "

Great idea Annis :thumbright:

Who actually believes City will go up this season?

I don't think we will. Slade and all the players say we can make top six, but do they really believe that? I know I don't.

Who is just happy to stay in mid table?

We've had some great times recently. Promotion, FA Cup and League Cup finals, play-off final etc. Maybe Tan feels we need a stable season? Obviously us, as fans, will never be happy with a mid-table season this year. Given our squad, we should be doing better than that - but I can't see it under the current regime.

Who believes we will struggle?

I can't see us struggling. I think we'll have enough points to comfortably maintain our Championship status.

Who is happy with our current management?

I'm not a Slade fan. I never have been. He failed to impress last season, and he has a lot to prove. But, I think we should judge him after 10-12 games. This is his squad now, he's had a full pre-season. Let's judge him after October 3rd and Brighton away, which will be ten league games plus at least two cup games. Then we can be sure. Personally, I don't hold out much hope.

Who is happy for Tan to continue to own us?

I think it's fairly obvious that Tan is looking to sell, not now but in the near future. I wouldn't be sorry to see him go, but then we still have all that debt to him. That debt that he promised to turn into equity, but has failed to deliver? He has always said that when he goes, he won't leave us in a bad state. Let's see if he keeps that promise.

Re: " OK LETS ALL BE HONEST "

Fri Aug 14, 2015 11:07 am

I think a lot of fans are just frustrated

If we had a more dynamic and forward thinking manager....I personally believe we are only a Pacey top class striker and midfield general away from being promoted

I fully realise these won't come cheap, but when you realise how many millions we have wasted on poor signings..agent fees..excessive wages..cancelling contracts etc over the last few years..if we had run the club more professionally with the parachute payments we would be able to afford these 2 new players!!!!

We are suffering now because of past mistakes

Re: " OK LETS ALL BE HONEST "

Fri Aug 14, 2015 11:17 am

to all the people saying we wont make play offs, so name the six teams better than us on paper?

we have every chance of automatic in my eyes and I have money on it to do so - we are far too big a price to turn down :bluescarf:

Re: " OK LETS ALL BE HONEST "

No slagging each other

That will be a first Annis - for me constructive criticism is great but some go too far and some way, way too far? :?

Some on here say this forum is negative ?

I can understand some fans negativity with all the shite we have had to endure since Mr Tan arrived (thankful for the investment but could have been a hero if he had listened to opinion instead of bulldozing his way through things)

Who actually believes City will go up this season ?

I believe we could do well on paper / squad but getting it all ticking (ie- the left hand knowing what the right hand is doing) is the trick. Is Mr Slade the manager to do that? maybe after 10 Games we will know a bit more.

Who is just happy to stay in mid table?

Not really, but anything below 12th and I would not be amused.

Who believes we will struggle ?

Time will tell, but I hope not. We have had enough disappointments to deal with (not promotion but colour, badge and fans not treated right)

Who is happy with our current management?

If Mr Tan is cutting back (which is good in a way to steady the ship financially) rather than cutting to the bare bones - no manager will can cope with that for their squad in this day and age. I am prepared to give Mr Slade a bit of time to see if it is the players who are not responding to his management style / playing formation, etc or is it actually deeper than that at the circus.

Who is happy for Tan to continue to own us?

From what I can see - Mr Tan not attending games, back to blue, cutting too far beyond viability for championship status - I think Mr Tan has lost interest in us and probably better with new mr money bags or a fans buyout. :sad7:

I am happy to see the club continuing to stabilise and heading down a more sustainable path going forward. So at this time I think Russell Slade is a good man for the job and could exceed our expectations of him. Longer term a financially stable club should be more attractive to a potential buyer when Tan decides it's time to cut his losses. Who knows where this season will take us but as a fanbase we need to be behind our manager and support the team and enjoy it.

Re: " OK LETS ALL BE HONEST "

Fri Aug 14, 2015 11:32 am

I believe that we will be in the top 6, but will accept mid table with more squad streamlining.

we will not struggle. The squad is too good.

I'm happy with Slade / Trollope as our management team. I believe they struggled last year cleaning up the mess from the past two years.

I don't mind Tan being the owner, although the last few years have been awful with the rebrand, I believe he has handed most of the running of the club to Dalaman and Choo, who are in the process of making the club profitable.

The club is going in the right direction. I feel us supporters should too.

Re: " OK LETS ALL BE HONEST "

Fri Aug 14, 2015 11:34 am

I don't think it's being negative to be realistic. I think most fans know that Tan is not going to throw money into the club any more, and that ultimately he will want to cut his losses and run. I don not believe that Tan is in the slightest bit interested in the club getting back to the Premier League, and has appointed Slade to maintain Championship status while reducing debts at the same time. I do not think Slade would be the right person to manage the club if promotion was high on the list of priorities, but as this is not the case, he will probably be as good as anyone else we can get on the cheap and still be able to keep us away from the relegation zone (hopefully). I think that it's right that the club is trying to reduce the debts, and cut down on the high wage bill, and I accept that we are not going to be up with the promotion contenders anytime soon. Not a problem with me as you can get plenty of excitement in this division, although it remains to be seen whether Slade is the manager to provide us with exciting football. Sometimes you have to take a step backwards before you can take a few steps forward.

Who actually believes City will go up this season?

In my opinion only the deluded will believe we will go up this season.

Who is just happy to stay in mid table?

I'll be happy to be outside the bottom 3 after 46 games.

Who believes we will struggle?

Even with the VT imposed austerity and what's left of our squad we should'nt struggle but with the loss of £10m in PL parachute payments next season this period of cutbacks WILL continue for at least another season. So in my opinion still a fair bit of suffering to put up with for the fans.

Who is happy with our current management?

I'm not and the sooner Slade goes the better. I believe his contract runs out in June next year and if VT is stupid enough to offer him another I won't hold out much hope for our future..

Who is happy for Tan to continue to own us?

VT is clearly looking to sell and the sooner the better, remember we only have his word that we are "Back In Blue" until the end of this season. Could he be mad enough to re-introduce "Lucky Red" next season :? He has always said that when he does go, he won't leave us in a bad state. Let's see if he keeps that promise.

If we can rid ourselves selves quickly of the incompetent Slade and replace him with a manager who knows what their doing at this level, also given sufficient funds to add a bit of quality to our squad, I would say we would have a very good chance in reaching the playoffs

Who actually believes City will go up this season ?
Not this year, I don't think. I'd like to think top 10 and maybe playoffs.

Who is just happy to stay in mid table?
Provided it's upper half then yes, I think that shows progress.

Who believes we will struggle ?
Not really, I just think we're working out any kinks in the team as we go along.

Who is happy with our current management?
I am quite happy with Slade for now. I don't know if he'll necessarily be the one to take us up, but I think he needs to be given a chance. Too much doom and gloom surrounds him.

Who is happy for Tan to continue to own us?
Yes, I think Tan owning us is okay. I don't think he'll clear the debt but he'll keep us going, and that's important. Who knows, if we can make playoffs year in, year out, then get promoted and stay up, we may make some good money.

Re: " OK LETS ALL BE HONEST "

Fri Aug 14, 2015 11:59 am

We will miss out on promotion this season
Ill give Slade a full season
We wont enter the bottom six all season thus no struggle
I believe Tan is here until we get promotion, love a new wealthy owner but cant see it happening just yet.
Back in Blue with the Bluebird large on the badge,we are going in the right direction :bluescarf: :bluebird: :ayatollah:

Who is just happy to stay in mid table? Not happy, we should be pushing to get back in the prem but insead we have been managed poorly and are cost cutting despite huge amount of prize money from our season in the prem and paracute payments.

Who believes we will struggle ? No comfortable in mid table. Not enough quality to go up but enough to stay in mid table.

Who is happy with our current management? Not really although things look to have perhaps improved a bit of late.

Who is happy for Tan to continue to own us? Again not really but we owe him so much money I cant see anyone else taking it on. Would be happy for another wealth backer to buy Tan out. Still dont like the fact that :tandragon: is on the crest. Shouldn't be there IMO.
