Shirt Sales - Priority to Season Ticket holders

Sat Jun 20, 2015 8:38 am

Surely priority for the sale of the shirts should go to those loyal enough to have renewed - I intend to speak with the club on Monday. :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluebird:

Excellent point, City fans who renewed should get first priority, as City usually only order 5,000 at a time and then it usually takes weeks for another batch.
Hopefully they have ordered 10,000 for the first batch.

Why not - those people have already committed another season to the club and they deserve to be recognised - the only people that would object would be those who have not.

Yes I am a ST holder BUT I will not be buying the new kit as I will get something smarter/casual to wear - give the SSTs a weekend to purchase and can then go on general sale. Seems entirely fair and reasonable

Great idea, make sure you speak to the club. :ayatollah:

Re: Shirt Sales - Priority to Season Ticket holders

I am a season ticket holder and disagree with the idea even though it is a novel one.

As a season ticket holder I get priority on cup match tickets, away tickets and have guaranteed my seat at a price lower than the match day price.

I also receive 10% discount purchases at the store for merchandise.

As a City fan I want to see as many people as possible wearing City tops and don't believe it is the best idea to exclude non season ticket holders to purchase the new top at the earliest opportunity.

You would expect the club to service demand especially with a major company behind them who deal with the biggest clubs in the world.

However, it is Cardiff City so if there is mi imal supply then there should be a way of categorising customers.

ST holders is as good as it gets. Perhaps a few days for ST holders to buy before general sale. Just like it would be for high demand Cup games.

It's embarrassing seeing City strongholds such as Bridgend & Neath Port Talbot flooded with Swansea Shirts. By prioritising shirts for those who are season ticket holders for one week or weekend will put off other buyers who may be unable to attend every game for certain reasons. The whole release the kit day used to an exciting day, trying to be the first one to get the kit. But let's discourage even more people from supporting city by saying "yeah, thanks for the support but it's not as important as these supporters as they give us £400 upfront... modern football huh.

Totally agree, if availability is limited, then, I am all for ST holders having first dibs, for say 14 days, I would also let anyone who were not ST holders to purchase in that time, who wanted them to wear on a holiday booked for that period, proof provided of course! I should add that although a ST holder, I won't be purchasing a shirt  Not because I don't like the shirt, I most certainly do, but because I never buy replica shirts :bluescarf:

I've been a season ticket holder for donkeys years and have to agree with entirely.

Having a season ticket doesn't make you any bigger a fan. I haven't bothered this year but have had one for the last 18 years despite living 120 miles away. I still intend on doing around 15 home and 5 away games this season though.

Can I be blunt?

St holders ARE more important. As you say, its modern football.

Everyone is deluded if you think football is anything but a business. Money has ruined the game.

Re: Shirt Sales - Priority to Season Ticket holders

Why ! Just because they renewed this year? Thousands of loyal city fans have not renewed this season but does not mean they should not be allowed to purchase as soon as the kit released ..

Re: Shirt Sales - Priority to Season Ticket holders

Sat Jun 20, 2015 11:32 am

Fans are ruining football as much as the owners themselves...

Season ticket was £400+ yeah? Match day ticket around £31 on average? 23 games in the year...

That means some one would have to go to just 13 matches to pay more than a season ticket holder... Now who's more important? The walk up fan who buys the match day ticket on the day, buys a programme,as well as a £45 shirt. Like many have said on here, they hold a season ticket but never buy a shirt. Last week the majority said on here, the club should take a leaf out of the FAW book.

FAW Membership - 15% off Merch & priority tickets

Now the club already offers that don't they? Why should they push the family away who may be in the area in a weeks time, who would want to buy a shirt for their son as a gift, just because some season ticket holders think they are that important. You want the club to improve off the field, and see more blue shirts in South Wales instead of swansea shirts, then treat every single fan, whether frickle or die hard, exactly the same, then you'll see the club grow! :bluescarf:

Why not just prepare load of shirts and avoid disappointment. How many shirts did we sell when Bellamania happened for the first time?

agree. I hope the club are prepared for the expected high demand so this is not an issue. I haven't renewed for next year but intend to go to as many games as possible when I can that doesn't make me any less of a fan. Like all fans I've been looking forward to this kit launch more than ever for obvious reasons. If the club did what has been suggested that could alienate another section of support temporarily when they are trying to re gather the lost support for their bad re brand decision

None in St Davids shop! Only old stuff getting sold off for peanuts! :o

Not everyone is lucky enough to be a season ticket holder, this doesn't make them any less a Cardiff fan. I think giving STH a discount towards a shirt is fair, but it should be first come first serve. We are meant to be encouraging people to support Cardiff city.

And an "obvious" reaction from a non-season ticket holder (just to balance the books) ;)

No one said you "can't" buy a shirt; they simply said there should be priority given to those who will to attend matches and personally I would extend that to 'Members' too!

A lot of people have abandoned the club for next season (going by the drastic drop in season ticket sales to date) so it is only reasonable to prioritise those that have already made the biggest commitment for next season, i.e. purchased a season ticket!

Maybe the club shop will throw in free printing on the back of the shirt with super fan or the special one for the season ticket holders so we know how much more loyal you are than the rest of us.

I havent renewed for next year but I dont feel ive abandoned the club. Im looking forward to watching as many games as I can but the last few years I havent got the value out of my ST due to a change in work and family commitments so have decided not to renew. I havent turned my back on the club and theres bound to be many like me.
I agree there should be benefits for ST holders and members but there are many fans who would love to be able to go to every game and have a ST but for whatever reason can't why should they be made to feel any different and have the right of buying their teams kit later than others.

Due to work commitments, I haven't attended enough games to justify my season ticket on cost grounds alone for some seasons. However, my love of the club (through thick and thin) ensures that I am determined to be there as often as I can be and when I am I want to sit in my usual seat with the friends I have made down the years!

My choice, of course, and whilst I appreciate that others cannot afford or simply don't want to commit in that way whilst the club is going through transition (when was it not going through transition, eh? LOL :laughing6: ) I am happy that my stadium seat is guaranteed and (remember, it's happened before ;) ) I will be in the first queue for any tickets in the mad scramble that will surely occur if we achieve some sort of success, such as a promotion push and/or a Wembley bound cup run!

Agreed

Re: Shirt Sales - Priority to Season Ticket holders

Sun Jun 21, 2015 7:53 am

I hope the club do not agree to this. Whilst I understand you want to reward season ticket loyalty I believe it is unfair. We have ma y die hard city fans just the same as season ticket holders who don't have one for a huge amount of reasons. I.e. work commitments, cost, travel. We are all city fans at the end of the day and if you are a season ticket holder should not mean you get benefits of everything. I would like to think city and company like Adidas will have sufficient enough for demand. Also if it sells quick Adidas won't take long to make more batches. It's adidas not cosway sports.
