Could Slade yet emulate Coleman?

Sat Jun 13, 2015 10:02 am

A lot of similarities.

Coleman:Took the job on under the most difficult circumstances and was slagged off by all and sundry especially on this forum.
Hardly anyone had a good word for him and most thought they knew better than him.If Wales do go on and qualify it'll be due to him in no small part and last nights full house is a testament to his achievements.

Slade:Took over our Club at a time of deep crisis. The off the field stuff was impacting on the on field stuff and he found himself thrust into situation that his two predecessors and the owner had been responsible for.Just like Coleman a part of the fanbase were not prepared to give him the adequate time to turn things around.I seem to remember also that many people also questioned Coleman's technical and tactical ability regardless of their own expertise and I don't have to tell you how much Slade has suffered the same fate.

So basically. Can Slade do a Coleman?

No Slade can't and won't and secondly, Gary Speed and Brian Flynn should take most of the credit for the current welsh side!

Coleman got lucky by all the hard work that went into the U21's and carried on into the national side.

The only good thing and credit Coleman is due is that he has allowed the team to carry on playing as they were, they play to their strenghts and not how Coleman managed his league sides!!

Coleman has played and managed in the top division.

Coleman has managed at a higher level than Speed or Flynn.

He still gets no credit. This formation is very much his and it's working.

Yes your favourite pass time topic on here.

I doubt Slade will emulate Coleman because I believe that is not what he has been brought in for. However I do believe he will achieve what he has been asked to do and that is make us a comfortable championship side run on a budget that is sustainable.

Jesus Christ arri give the man some credit. I know the players do.And feel free to correct me but Gary Speed and Bryan Flynn didn't exactly cover themselves with glory at club level.

You never know, but I doubt it very much. If we were lucky enough to have players of Ramsey, Bale, etc quality in the side he wouldn't know what to do with them.

Typical Cardiff fans will never be happy always doom and gloom
I hope so if given the chance a lot will depend on whether he will be allowed to have a settled side in august and no players leaving
the squad we start with in our first game should only be added too not linked or sold in the transfer window unsettling the side just like it did in the last transfer window

Finally a bit of sense. I have given up hope with our fans for the moment, but I will also add that our form from February onwards was PLAYOFF form, which isn't bad at all considering the mess Slade has had to sort out.

Wrong again Barnett though though we haven't heard from you since the January transfer window.

Never say No, because with Slade you really can't say that as he could be the surprise manager of all time for City and I really really hope he is :thumbright: :ayatollah: :bluebird:
