' TAN WANTS MONEY IN NOW SLADE '

As well as Slade going about his business in the transfer market, Slade has been told, I want players out now, ASAP and Tan is expecting at least £15 mill from sales.

My opinion is that Slade will not be allowed to spend no more than £5mill for next season

Source.?
Obvious SLade needs to get rid of players, that is a given, as for the amount spent on transfers, well that depends on what player is available at value for money... No more wasting money is needed.

Re: ' TAN WANTS MONEY IN NOW SLADE '

Surely the only people that would know that are Tan, Slade, Dalmon and Choo. So unless one of them are leaking this information I call b*llsh*t. One minute you're "reporting" Tan and Slade have agreed budget and targets next Slade can't move forward until players go...

Let's buy Daryl Murphy for 4 million then!

I'm concerned that Slade, who in my opinion couldn't run a blood bank in Transylvania, would be able to convince good players to join a club in which he was the manager

Re: ' TAN WANTS MONEY IN NOW SLADE '

Thu Jun 11, 2015 10:25 am

I guess it makes sense. Wouldn't be the first time a manager has been told he needs to sell before he can buy and it would be in line with the budgeting of the past 6 months. I can't say I am against that idea either but still maintain £15m in player sales is too much and that would suggest that the club plan to sell Marshall and Manga because those two alone would take you most of the way to that target. £3m for Mason would also be a good sell but I can't see a club paying that amount.

It's going to be an intriguing summer of transfers. I am excited but also quite nervous.

Wez as you know I Spk to people every day,Slade told reporters, he is more under pressure to safe Tan money, I believe Tan wants that more than to deliver us good football.

So where did the £15 million mark come from? Because if he told anyone in the news world it would be in papers not on a message board. Also why are we rejecting bids if we 'need' to clear £15m?

I was actually told at the end of last season £15-£20mill Tan was hoping for, but I personally thought Tan was way out at £20 mill.

Re: ' TAN WANTS MONEY IN NOW SLADE '

I believe this 100% because any budgets set for this season prior to ST going on sale have been blown out of the water by the loss of 12,000+ ST, and not having that money sat in the clubs bank account must be hurting badly so what are the options?

Replacing the lost ST sales with revenue from the sale of players is pretty much the easiest option, so as far as I'm concerned each and every player at the club is for sale, Marshall and Manga will probably be the first to ship out.

The transfer market hasn't really got going this summer yet, maybe Derby are the exception in the Championship, but I can see players coming and going right up until the window closes.

Problem with this of course is we will not have a settled squad through pre-season and how much of an effect will that have once the season gets under way.

Annis,

I think he'll be struggling to get £15million!

The only way to do that is to sell the majority of the team which Slade picked almost every game last season (Marshall, Gunnarrson, Manga, Noone, Whitts, Mason etc)

Apart from those he'd be lucky to get £15million for the rest of the squad put together!

No offence but that doesn't add up. If Tan wants his money back the best way (in fact the only way) is to get us back to the Premier League which means building a very good team. Asset stripping to recover some of his money will lead to relegation and a massive drop in the value of the club and huge losses if he was to sell. I can understand that Tan needs to get the wage bill under control after Ole wildly overspent on players he didn't play and others who were not worth the transfer fees or wages but once the high earners have gone I'm sure Tan will do whatever it takes to make us successful. Not because he likes us but because he wants his money back. And for the record I'm not a Tan supporter. :ayatollah:

it all points to tan balancing the books and recouping as much of his money as possible before selling the club to the highest bidder. whether this is a good thing or not only time will tell!

It does add up as Tan is getting his money back as if you add the Sky/Prem money to it,Tan will be well under the £100mill, Ive been told and have stated many times Tan would prob take £50 mill for us and accept a £50mill loss.
Tan has lost interest in us and hes not going to go down that road again and put £millions upon £millions in to us again.

If by a miracle we went up on a peanut budget, then of course Tan will be celebrating as will have lost nothing then.
Ive said it for over a year,Tan wants out ASAP,but the debt is to big to get a willing buyer.

I don't think Tan has any intention of spending the sort of money required to get us back to the Premier League. If he is looking at profits, I'm afraid he's in the wrong business as far as football is concerned. Check out the 92 clubs and see how many make a decent profit each year. I think he is getting back as much as he can before bailing out, and I am pretty sure he knows that when he leaves he will be well out of pocket. Just remains to be seen exactly how much.

I've always taken this view myself.

Like it or not, Tan is a businessman that does not lose money very often. These transfer transactions are/will generate small numbers in comparison to the money Tan has invested/loaned.

What it has done is brought down the monthly outgoings in terms of wages significantly to reduce the level of ongoing losses.

I would be simply amazed if Tan was willing to take a £50m loss. That means he will have to recoup his money another way.

To my mind the only way he can get close to recovering his outlay will be to get us either in, or close to, the Premiership.

We keep hearing people say he's pocketing the parachute payments but those same people are also claiming that the club is still making a loss. I'm sorry but that doesn't add up because if the club is still making an operating loss then surely those payments will be being used to prop us up at the moment, particularly with significantly lower ST sales income, he's not so stupid as to continue increasing his risk by bailing us out with his own money when those payments would cover it anyway.

We certainly won't be splashing the cash like the Malky days but I do think that common sense would tell most people that Tan will not walk away until the club is in such a position that he can at least cover the majority of what he's put in.

David, I agree a very weak one, I honestly believe Tan will be happy if Slade can keep us in the Championship on a skeleton budget, giving Tan then the chance to get a lot of his money back, without putting much back in.
