'Ashley Williams'

Sat Jun 06, 2015 10:00 am

I was just wondering why Ashely Williams still gets so much hate and abuse from us City fans.
Yes, okay, the lad is not born in Wales, but every time he puts on our shirt he gives his all and he does more than someone like James Collins, who can't be bothered to show up, even though he's "fully Welsh".

I'm fully behind Coleman (a jack) and Ashley (a jack) because at the end of the day the give their all for Wales. I'm fine with Ashley being on the front of a poster in our stadium because this isn't a Cardiff City game, this is a WALES game and Ashley Williams gives his all for WALES!

I don't understand why people say that they won't watch Wales until he's removed from the captaincy. Opinions?

I've never seen him get any abuse at wales matches. Only the odd post on football forums. At club level its only natural that he's gonna get stick from us with him being a jack. I think all this "Ashley getting stick by Cardiff fans" is a myth

Ditto. Its a shit stirring myth.

The only time we gave him abuse was when the gypos sang 'he's captain of wales'
So we sang 'he's not even Welsh'

Let it go ffs

Don't mind him, don't care if he is a jack just in my opinion a welshman should be captain.

Re: 'Ashley Williams'

Sat Jun 06, 2015 11:33 am

I don't care if he's not Welsh so to speak. He gives everything when he plays for the country and I think it's obvious he's the best captaincy option and has been for a while. Above posts are right. The hatred is in a very small minority and even then it's not been heard in ages so is just shit stirring now.

Re: 'Ashley Williams'

Because he's a dirty Jack scumbag and plays for our rivals. Do you think Galatasaray fans give Topal and Sahin a hug in the street and clap them? Cardiff City FC has turned into a happy clappy glorified sports club and cheerleading team. How long before we get the Bluebird Bluebell Cheerleaders? Give it 5-10 years and the club will have a drop off daycare centre as well that mothers can take their kids into whilst fathers go to the match. Jacks should be scared to enter our city. Instead, they're put up on our stadium walls and idolised.

Wow! What an embarrassing post! When we play against Ashley Williams' Swansea again, we will abuse him and the rest of the Swansea team during the 90 minutes to try to get the upper hand. But for Wales, any decent Cardiff fan would support and respect Ashley Williams. He wasn't born in Wales, but turns up for every game, gives his all and is a very good captain. It's Wales v Belgium, not Cardiff v Swansea! Maybe you should look at our previous captain Ryan Giggs and realise we are lucky to have a captain who actually turns up to every game, gives his all and gives a shit, unlike Ryan Giggs!

He's ok. Great signing for the Jacks. Good for Wales.

It is a total myth I agree. I've not heard him get abuse playing for Wales, always gets good support, but naturally he's had a bit of stick playing for the Jacks against us.

Every City and Wales fan I know respects his efforts for Wales quite rightly.

I'll back him all the way for Wales and tell him he's a useless Midlands Jack when playing for Swansea :-)

I'm guessing your on a wind up, either that or you have some serious issues. Even in the days of real football rivalry/hooliganism were players from Swansea/Cardiff abused when they played for their country at their rivals ground.

Yeah I think anyone directing abuse at a thing representing Wales would be going against the FAW the most incompetent organisation in world football. Other than probably.. You know FIFA.

Club rivalry has to be put to one side on Friday and everyone get behind the players.

It would be great if we could finally qualify and a positive result against Belgium would go a long way to achieving that !

CCS will be rocking on Friday !

The solid truth is that no one is more suited to be our captain than Ashley Williams. When he's wearing a Wales shirt he has my full support and so should everyone else who follows our country.

He's a fine centre back. We are lucky to have him playing fir Wales are we not? Thing that pisses me off more than anything is that Dave Jones never snapped him up for us from Stockport ( where Jones still had connections no doubt) when we were in the championship and the jacks in league 1. I know we had an ok pair at the time but he has been there through there rise up the whole way....
