" EVEN IF HE WANTS TO STAY/HE WILL BE SOLD THIS SUMMER "
Ive been told even if David Marshall who is very settled at Cardiff City wants to stay,he will be sold as City want to reduce the wage bill by at least much as they did in the last 6 months.
Marshall who is on £25,000 plus a week and is still worth £millions is already wanted by a number of clubs including Derby County and some of the Premier League Clubs.
Simon Moore would become City's No1 backed up by Joe Lewis, How would you feel about that?
Slade has his orders by Tan to continue to reduce the wage bill and then he will be able to bring in new players.

marshall is a luxury we cant afford(would be great if he could stay),so time for him to go and happy with moore becoming number 1..

If we did get to the PL

would Moore be good enough to be in the first 11
Thu Apr 30, 2015 6:57 am
I thinks its time i say and also the good thing is that an outfield player will be captain as Marshall for me doesn't work.
Thu Apr 30, 2015 6:59 am
Why have they only sold 4,000 season tickets says it all really.
Thu Apr 30, 2015 7:03 am
Makes sense for a mid table championship club with no ambition to get promoted.
Thu Apr 30, 2015 7:11 am
Moore is no marshall but the clubs intentions seem to be a struggling championship side - no wonder people are not renewing
Thu Apr 30, 2015 7:14 am
Slade is building a side ready for league 1 where he will be in his comfort zone Moore is not good enough.
Thu Apr 30, 2015 7:18 am
Under every other owner we have ever had he would have been sold last year.
Thu Apr 30, 2015 7:20 am
For me,a club with any ambition has to keep it's best players so I definitely wouldn't want Marshall to go if this is true.
Enough money could be saved by getting rid of players like Noone & Jones to enable us to keep our better players like Manga as well.
No wonder so many are disillusioned & leaving.

I've said before any player who is worth a decent fee will be gone if an offer is made. This club has no intention of anything other than championship survival next season.

Agree it's all about survival next year with the same old boring football.

Why do people think we can afford not to sell a player on £1.3m a year and worth about £4m when we are so in debt and have the financial fair play rules to adhere to? Marshall is a luxury we dont need, Moore could do just as good a job next year.
Thu Apr 30, 2015 8:04 am
I would much prefer his wages go towards quality in more influential areas of the pitch next year. If he does end up staying i hope slade takes the captaincy off him and give it to someone else!
Thu Apr 30, 2015 8:08 am
Goes to show the club have no ambition whatsoever. I have probably made a mistake by renewing my season ticket - I live in Taunton and the dross we have been served up this season has meant a lot of miserable trips back after matches.
Thu Apr 30, 2015 8:20 am
If we were going to sell him he should have been sold last year when big money offers were being made. He stayed loyal to the club and now his chance for a big club seemed to have slipped away. Millions have slipped away from the club as well ! The club seem to take the wrong option every time

He can only be sold if he agrees to a move.
So basically if he wants to stay he will and still get his £25k a week

Seems like fans are voting for what they feel already. A club with no ambition, a manager with none either, selling everything it can despite the owner being a billionaire. I'm all for balancing the books but our best opportunity has now been missed by appointing 2 wrong managers in a row at crucial times. We could live without Marshall maybe but any decent team needs a solid spine to be a success.

He's on Premiership wages and we are not a Premiership club. I also feel that Marshall is overrated and a keeper on a fraction of his salary could do a more than adequate job. The money saved on wages and tranafer fee would be better spent on other areas of the squad
Thu Apr 30, 2015 8:34 am
more players to leave and yet we will be backed with money for a promotion push
great math must have gone to the same school as me
only future promotion i can see wouid be bouncing back from league 1
Thu Apr 30, 2015 8:36 am
I'm all for cutting costs, but a decent keeper in this league is worth 10-15 points a season. Marshall has pull us out of the shit so many times since he's been here and his reward is being bombed out by VT.
Thu Apr 30, 2015 9:06 am
I just don't see how people can make a judgement on Moore being ready on the amount of football we have seen him play
Thu Apr 30, 2015 9:17 am
I assume he's been told he's going to be sold to the highest bidder then as it's on a message board or is it guess work wonder what marshy thinks of that
Thu Apr 30, 2015 9:18 am
If this is true, then "don't moan" at season ticket sales Cardiff City! You are your own worst enemy!
You need a degree in psychology to work out what the ambition or lack of ambition is at our club
Thu Apr 30, 2015 9:19 am
Does anyone still genuinely believe that the club is trying to get promoted next year?
Does anyone believe that Tan is doing anything other than asset stripping the club to get his money back?
Does anyone actually believe a word that comes from Choo and Malman about the direction the club is taking?
Bullshit and more bullshit is all that comes out of the club nowadays and no wonder so many people are sick of it. Frankly I'm a bit surprised they've got as many renewals as they have - I've renewed but if it's the same boring crap next season under a clueless manager then it will continue being the uninspiring chore it is to follow the team that it's been this season.
It never felt this bad, even in the bad old days.
Bunch of tossers the lot of them.

True, for 2-3mil higher than what he will go for this summer...One of the many disadvantages of changing the club's ethos/fabric mid-way through a season
Thu Apr 30, 2015 9:23 am
I don't think getting rid of Marshall will help us at all. If that money is reinvested badly in other players of lesser quality again, then all you do is stack with wage bill right back up with useless players. The squad has been saturated all season and getting rid of Marshall just doesn't seem right.
If he's going that money has to be put into a solid defence because I have no confidence in Moore yet.
Thu Apr 30, 2015 9:32 am
Pity. Best keeper we've had in years. Saying that I think Moore will do a good job as no.1.
Marshall if you leave, best of luck you will go down as a cardiff great in my eyes and you deserve to be in the premier league.
Scotland number 1.
Thu Apr 30, 2015 10:21 am
Marshall needs to stay at Cardiff, we need experienced players in the dressing room and he obviously loves playing for the club- selling Marshall shows we have no ambition and will be happy to play out of the championship if not league 1, I've become so dissolutioned with this club.

TAN OUT

we are blessed with good keepers and at 25 k a week it would wise to get rid and get some money for him ,we are championship team anyone on premiership wages needs to be moved on
