Either way we should hold out for at least that.
He's very much wanted up there and they won't be the only ones.
His recent run will have alerted others, especially in that area.
Blackburn for example may have a few bob this summer if they sell Gestefe and will be looking for a replacement

Wez, theyve never actually said what theyve paid for him.

"Reading FC striker Adam Le Fondre has completed his move to Cardiff City for an undisclosed fee, thought to be around £2.5 million."
Now the selling club will always give the full possible price with all the possible future add ons tied in, to give the impression to their fans that they sold the player for a good price. However, 1 million and 2.5 million is a huge gap. Whatever the fee was would probably be a total of an initial fee up front, followed by an add on if we got promoted (like our deal with Bournemouth for Kenwyne) and other add on fees for appearances, goals etc.
I reckon we have paid 1.5 million up front for him but the fee could have risen to 2.5 million if Le Fondre was ever present, scored a minimum of 15 goals and we got promoted, but that's purely a guess. I wouldn't settle for anything less than a million up front if we choose to sell.

once again, paying high wages makes players difficult to move on if it doesn't work out. le fondre didnt even want to come here but we offered him cold hard cash that he couldn't turn down.

The real reason why he came here because his hero Ole was here.

Tim, I rem they could not match City's wage offer and needed the transfer fee.

Yes I recall the statement in one of the papers said "undisclosed but believed to be around 1 million"
Hold out for at least 1 million. If Bolton fail to agree the negotiations would spark interest.
Definitely a 'victim' of our 'anti-football' philosophy and it was no surprise to see him to well at Bolton.. If we had a decent footballing playing style he would prosper with us but I fear the damage is already done and he needs to move on. Who can blame him. Every player needs to feel wanted and enjoy their football.... seems neither criteria exists at Cardiff.
