" CARDIFF CITY TO ANNOUNCE SLADES NEW BUDGET/BUT "

In May, City will announce Slades Summer budget/ but at the same time Slade will be told at least 10 more highly paid players have to go including some of the ones returning from loans etc.

Tan will continue to try and get the debt down and as much money back that is owed to him as possible.

Remember two small clubs like Watford and Bournemouth were automatically promoted this season, so can Cardiff City do it next season? and what type of budget do you think Russell Slade needs?

Who do you think will be the 10 players?

What are they going to do if players do not want to leave??

My guess is;
Guerra.
KTC.
K Jones.
Manga.
Dikgakoi.
Macheda.
Morrison.
Noone.
Maynard.
Gabbidon.

The last two will be out of contract anyway, however, I would be inclined to keep NM on a reduced contract.
There will be a few others out on loan where there are doubt to their returning,,, ALF & McNaughton being a couple more we may have seen the last of in a City shirt.

Most of those would walk into any championship side, it's absolute lunacy

Of course they would, & in the case of KJ & ALF, they already have. Don't forget that at the start of this season we had the strongest Championship squad in years (on paper, anyway) & we were going to rip a new arsehole in to every team we played.
Well there we are then. The problem was/is football isn't played on paper. What we lacked was balance through out the whole team. Most of the players that OGS brought in will be gone by August, IMO anyway.

If we want to compete next season then we must keep Marshall and Manga. At a push Fabio but I still believe Declan John could do a job at left back in this division if he was started regularly.

It's going to be an interesting, and probably depressing, summer for City fans!

Budget would have to be at least 17 million if we are serious about making a challenge...the low season ticket sales may mean lower budget, but with the parachute money it seems realistic

Parachute payment money will go to mr Tan :bluebird:

You look at what Bournemouth have achieved with a squad made up of players from the lower leagues and it's obvious that with thr right manager, promotion is possible, even probable. It's just a shame that we haven't got the right manager :sladeout:
I honestly won't be sorry to see any of those players depart

Why would the club announce their budget. Clubs NEVER let others know what they have to spend.

Has someone at the club said it will be announced or are the quotation marks misleading.

What benefits do we get from letting everyone know our budget

It won't matter what budget or squad we have, Slade will fail. Please bring back Dave jones and I can't believe I just wrote that but I mean it from the bottom of my heart :sladeout: :sladeout: Jones In!!!!!

I'd keep both Alfie and Maynard as when we do get a decent manager they will be able to bring out the best in them both :sladeout: :sladeout:

Sounds like the right approach to me, we have a lot of very average players on big wages. Then to invest in the team on a budget that is sustainable.

problem is wrong manager.

Would rather have Slade in charge. Malky showed his quality at Wigan and showed his lack of class over the last season or so.

The man that effectively relegated Wigan, the man who didn't record a home win?

Slade = no fooking chance. We don't need 17 million what we need is a decent savvy manager and the backing then of our fans. Tan ain't gonna put in jack shit. Obvious he is just staying to recoup as much money as he can.
If we can find a Eddie Howe then we have a chance but sorry we got put you asleep Slade :sladeout: :sladeout: :sladeout: :sladeout:

So you're saying Malky would have gotten points at Arsenal, Man City and Man United away that month? Even though he asked for MORE money despite having a 'warchest' and a Championship squad on wages of £30m?

The trouble started back last Summer, Ole was allowed to sign every man and his dog. I would say that we did not have the strongest Squad in the league just the BIGGEST ONE!!!! People on here have moaned at the fact that this or that player has been cheaply disposed of, but in truth we could have had Furgie here as manager we would still have had to trim the size of the playing squad, The point is we still with over 38 player on the first team list we still need to shed at least 10 -12 players to get anywhere near the right size squad for this league and that is before we even look at bringing anyone in the Summer.

Please lets all wake up and smell the coffee, players are going to have to be shipped out! :ayatollah:

I totally agree, & I think we are going to see a lot more than just ten players leave our club, certainly by the end of August.
