Swansea's success won't last for long...

Fri Apr 24, 2015 7:23 pm

They're far too small a club to sustain the level they are at now. My reasoning? Just look at the list of previous Premier League regulars and assess what happened to them.
Wigan, Charlton, Middlesbrough, Sheffield Wednesday, Fulham, Nottingham forest, Blackburn, Coventry, Birmingham and Bolton. And in a more dramatic sense Leeds and Portsmouth. All stayed comfortably in the premier league for several seasons. All sank to mediocrity again.

Have you been drinking ? I hope you're right, but I just can't see it happening.

I think Swansea (the football club) are a little different in their set-up compared to most of this mentioned and they have a proven infrastructure under the excellent Huw Jenkins

I believe Swansea's problems will begin when he (Jenkins) finally leaves the club in the not-too-distant future and the real money-makers go in and spoil it all as happened at Wimbledon...a comparable club in size and stature

For the club that will be a shame, but for the fans it can't come fast enough! ;)

Don't be daft, as much as i hate to say, they are probably the best run club in the prem. Would love to see them go down but they have a very good team right now and will continue to build.

Next season they need to replace Bony. Gomis is reasonable but won't get 15-20 like bony. If they can't get a decent striker they will struggle.

They won't struggle as much as I hate to say it :sad7:

The truth is we will never compete with the Jacks again.
Their club is run properly, all of their sides play a similar style of play.
Our club is a shambles from top to bottom.
If Slade is sacked at the end of the season and replaced by someone who can restructure the club from top to bottom it will take between 5 to 7 years before we can compete on an even footing again.
Anybody who thinks the Jacks will go down next season is barking.
If anything they are growing stronger and stronger.

This thread is just further evidence of the delusion on this forum. Good grief.

How many times are people going to peddle this crap? They'll never replace Michu they said. They'll never replace Bony. They'll never do this. Guess what? Time and time again they do it whether it's players, the manager or backroom staff. Why? Because they have the correct setup behind the scenes who know exactly what they want. Kills me to say it but they epitomise everything football should be about - team ethos, family feel to it, the underdog going up against the massive clubs, their way of football and doing it their way regardless of what the detractors say. Time to face facts. Swansea are the club now we've wanted to be for years and years. Horrible to admit but its the painful truth.

They've found a formula and it's worked. The only thing consistent about Cardiff is our gambling, that's the only mentality at Cardiff City.

We gambled on the FA Cup run to save our club, foreign investment for the bills in 09/10, loan moves in the 10/11 season, an unproven manager in the 11/12 season, throwing a wad of money in 12/13, buying an unproven Danish striker and spending £50m on transfers, to then appoint an unproven manager to keep us up in 13/14, 14/15 we sack our manager and replace him with a manager whose never been promoted and has outdated tactics.

If we sack Slade in the summer, we need a system put in straight away, all of our appointments have had their own way, they've never had to abide to any philosophies

You should have looked at the last hundred threads on here saying the same thing . What you say is more out of bitterness and jealousy and not common sense or a balanced view.
As much as it will make you sick , we are the best run club in the league ,Making massive profits each and every seasons and strengthening all the time.
With this huge increase in TV rights money we will just get better and better , The only way you would catch us is if some complete lunatic bought the club from Mr Tan and ploughed in stupid amounts of money.
I know it is painful for you , but fact is , we are a million miles away from you and no amount of praying or silly posts will change that .

I'm not saying they won't stay a bit longer but I am just pointing out the precedence of previously established premier league clubs. There is no magic formula. Do me a favour with huw Jenkins being some sort of genius. They said the same about Steve Gibson the Middlesbrough chairman. Sooner or later they will struggle. It works in cycles. I'd love to see how they react to a relegation battle. Then we'll see how a well run club it is. Which I think it is by the way but sterner tests await.
The premier league has the massive big five of Man United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City, arsenal then below Spurs, Everton. Villa and Newcastle will often struggle. Then the rest yo yo, one season and gone or a stay a while and then sink again.
But I do respect their success and have always respected them.

You have probably been spouting the same crap for the last four seasons and every season we just get better,You do know even your own supporters are laughing at how stupid you look .
Saying we will get relegated next season is laughable . The "experts" said we were doomed when we sold Bony to Man City . And we have just had our best ever points total.
You keep hating and speaking crap and we will keep being the only premiership team in wales yeah ?
Both do what we are best at doing . deluded moron .

I never ever ever thought I would utter these words but.... Swansea are a million miles ahead of us in all areas of the club, and they also streets ahead of the majority of premier league clubs as well.

There is a plan that runs throughout the football department of the club that now in place makes replacement coach and player recruitment easier, financially they are well run, their merchandise is top notch, their chairman/owner/MD is not an egotistical bellend. The list goes on and on and on.

On the flip side, our club is run in complete chaos, no one knows what is going on, the clubs PR department constantly do things to antagonise the fan base, our current kit is made by the Malaysian version of "happy Shopper", financially we are fucked even though the owner is a billionaire, there is zero club philosophy from a play point of view, our manager is a puppet, the owner is a prick, and life long fans on their own words " can't be arsed " - and that is not an indictment on them, it is a reflection of the farce we have become.

Sickening.

This is what you call a bite.

This is what you call clutching at straws.

Honestly, why would they care about a bite? They've been laughing at us for ages now. We're a club in dire straits and they're a club doing extremely well. If I was one of them I'd be sitting back in my seat laughing my back side off quite frankly.

Hate to say it but they are a really well run club now , they play good possession football , their style of play is suited to the Premier League they will be there for a while now

Re: Swansea's success won't last for long...

Sat Apr 25, 2015 7:48 pm

I have seen the header for days but never opened it. I cringe at these threads. The only good thing is we are so bad the Jacks rarely come on here to retaliate/ defend their club.

Huw knows his football, the club and the area. For all our potential we really get it wrong time after time. Whilst he is in charge they will be safe. They are at their glass ceiling at the moment and as long as the fans don't get cocky and expect "the next step" they'll be safe as houses.

Lets face it, there is more chance we'll get relegated before them

I have done my fair share of laughing but it`s people like that clown who just ask for a good ass kicking , If my club was in as bad a place as yours , The last thing i would do is try putting down a superbly run outfit like my Swans.
People like him make it hard for me to have any sympathy at all .
First class clown .
