I have to agree with supporters on this one. I photographed the Bolton-v-Blackpool game a couple of weeks back and thought Blackpool were awful. OK the result said otherwise (they got a flukey goal) but they played like one of the old Division 3 or 4 sides.

Rather than saying "they are playing for their lives" I think he should be suggested that a win is not a successful result. I think he should be drumming it in that a 1-0 or 2-1 win is not going to be considered as a result. A result in this game would be a win by 2 goals or more although we should really be aiming to win it by 3. Now this is just my personal opinion - but this is what I would want my manager to be saying.

Annis

It is just another example of Russell Slade proving that he has very little clue what he is talking about when it comes to the Championship.

Either Mehmet Dalman and Ken Choo have to find the courage to tell Vincent Tan that Slade has to go or the club will struggle hugely under his management again next season.

There is a need for sweeping change at board (too many directors making no contribution to the club whatsoever)and senior management (too many people not having the skills to do their job properly at Championship level) now to enable a new team to put in place a strategy for the new season in the close season or it may be too late. Without that change , I firmly believe that no-one will learn from their past mistakes (or even admit to them) and they will be repeated again in the future.

Yeah, that statement screams of him getting his excuses in already. I totally agree that every opponent should be shown respect but he's talking as if we'll do well to get a win!

Re: ' Russell Slade Warns Cardiff Fans '

He just doesn't use the language of a leader. Our players should be playing for their futures too, not just Blackpool. Yet again, you just don't know what your going to get on Saturday and for me, this should be his last game in charge, it simply hasn't worked out nor is it going to whilst he's the manager. If what Dalman said is true in the directors box last week, then I would hope that the club have put themselves in a position where someone like Warburton or Warnock will be appointed in the next week so that at least we have a summer to build for next year. Otherwise, they and we can expect the same pattern and perhaps worse for next season.

there has been plenty of debates on how big a club Cardiff actually is, but those comments today are not befitting of a Cardiff City manager. We are against a broke, relegated Blackpool team. Those comments are a disgrace to every fan who has lined their pockets this season.

I understand the need to dampen expectations at times, but this time, he really has gone too far. He is mad if he expects the fans to believe this is a harder match than usual.

And to think some on here have the nerve to brand fans as negative, Slade just radiates negative vibes, not one comment where he trusts his players to win.

So we're playing at home , against a team who is last in the league, who have already been relegated, who haven't won away all season, and Slade is warning us that they are going to be tough opponents. :digging2:

Every time Slade opens his trap he puts his foot deeper into it.

Spot On I cringe every time he opens his mouth ,he speaks about us like we have just come up to this division from league one ,he needs to remember he may have come up to this division but we have been in this division over 10 years and we were mostly one of the better teams in this division, always bigs up the other teams always worried about them never says anything to make them worry about us .
He always sets up a team not to lose rather than to cause opposition problems . Quite simple really, build up the opposition and if it goes pear shaped it defects the blame from him. He has regularly done it since he took over and unless fans realised we have have visits from Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, et al. this season. We didn't beat those either :laughing6:

Just trying to protect his job I suppose. :sladeout:

“It’s been horrible really playing for nothing, that’s why I want the season to end,” said the Blackpool boss.

A direct quote from Lee Clark at the Blackpool pre match press conference today, funny how the 2 managers see things so differently.

I've been on the fence about Slade for the time he's been in charge but his comments about Blackpool have been the last straw for me, what sort of manager bigs up the team that's bottom of the league and hasn't won away from home all season?! If w want the club to be united again we don't just need the change back to blue, but we need to get rid of Slade. :sladeout:

Because we should be confident of beating teams like Blackpool? We've just been relegated from the Premier League, not promoted from League 1, though the teams that were promoted from league 1 have been doing better than us. I've tried so hard to like Slade but I have seen nothing from either him or the way he has his team play, that suggests he's a good manager. I fear that if we stick with him we're going to end up sacking him in Sept/Oct and then we'll have wasted the whole pre-season and summer transfer window.

Re: ' Russell Slade Warns Cardiff Fans '

Fri Apr 24, 2015 6:11 pm

And if he was sacked which under performing players should go with him
By the way he said
We need to be ready and we will be ready
What do you think he meant by that
It certainly doesn't mean he isn't confident about tomorrow's game does it :sladein: :bluescarf: :bluebird:
Or shall we just comment on what some on here say he said
I think you might find it was rob Phillips that made those comments first :sladein:
