FOR ME TONIGHT IT WAS GREAT RALLS OF FIRE/ WHITTINGHAM WATCH OUT.

A Long Tuesday night trip and a new ground to every City fan who had travelled.

I was looking to this game as maybe,just maybe 3pts for City,even though we had only won 2 of our previous 15 League games under Slade Rotherham before today had conceded 14 goals in their last 5 League games and had only managed 1 win,making them very vulnerable at the back.
City had only scored 5 goals in their last 9 games,but tonight we were in for a shock.

For the first 15 minutes it was all Rotherham including a 12th minute disallowed goal for offside.
City could not string a pass together,every second ball not won, even up to the 24th minute Rotherham were in control.

City had a corner kick,taken by Joe Ralls in the 24th minute and bang a header by Manga 1 nil City, against the total run off play.
26th minutes another corner by Joe Ralls and Macheda volley 2 nil City. Bloody hell.

35th minute and McAlemy shot and yes 3 nil. City fans were in total shock and more than happy.

City controlled the rest of the first half and if I was the Rotherham manager,I would be dismay as they had played all the football, yet were 3 nil down.

Marshall limped off at half time.

Rotherham 0 City 3

Moore replaced Marshall.

Second half started like the first half all Rotherham.

Doyle replaced Macheda late on.

Revell and McAleny made the Rotherham keeper make a double save,that was all from City.

Jones replaced Revell

Moore had to make a great single handed save as Rotherham kept going forward,City were looking very complacent.

80th minute Rotherham pulled one back.

Then Rotherham looked like they had pulled another one back, but thankfully the Ref blew for a foul on Moore.

I have to say, not a great performance,but more than happy to win 3-1 away.

All the City players came over to us,then Slade came over and did a punch in the air,to a loud applause from the City faithful.


Now for the long journey home.

Back home from game.

Shock....more like hysterical. None of us there tonight could believe what we witnessed before half time.

I thought Rotherham look a tidy side as they were all over us until we scored from what was our first real chance and that being from a corner.

10 minutes later we were 3 up and it cannot be said in that period we were playing tidy football. We just seem to decide to win a bit of ball.

In the second half there was a 10 minute spell where we showed a bit of class resulting in a double save from their keeper. We looked comfortable at the back and showed a bit of speed going forward.

However the last quarter of the game belonged to the home side who managed to take control. I thought their goal was quality and if its going to take a goal like that to beat the defence we should not be too concerned with that.

Summing up it was a win and that is it for me. Last 2 away games we can say we have the upper hand against the lower clubs. Couple of wins against Blackpool and Millwall at home and we will definitely be safe.

Yes many worse grounds than Rotherhams, Bitter,cold night, I struggled to post all this and def great company

Another welcomed 3 points last night which surely guarantees us Championship football next season, the real interesting thing for me,is what team Slade select's for Saturday's game,will he bring back Whittingham,Noone and Jones,which is what I fear he will do,or will he keep an unchanged side,which I fear he won't do

Great for the fans and a confidence boost for the players yes but dare we get carried away?

Let's review this after the Charlton game. They will be a much sterner test and we are at home so let's hope City can build on this unexpected but fabulous result.

Q. Will he pick Whittingham?

A. Dunno but hope not. Ralls deserves his place. Whitts has to earn the shirt back.

I thought the quality throughout from both teams was pretty dire, some times quite comical from Rotherham they had the City fans in stitches on occasions.

A good result on the road though, we took our chances really well when they come and a couple of good individual performances.

McAleny looks quality, I hope he's given more game, Kennedy never stop trying to beat his man and always trying to make something happen and I also think Ralls didn't do himself no harm, even though I didn't think we were completely great at keeping the ball in the middle of the park.

Good trip and a nice little stadium.

For me its a No for Whittingham and a No for Noone.

I would rather play Declan John than Noone.
