I Back Slade 100%, So Should Everyone Else

I'm not a fan of changing managers every second, happens too much in the modern game, the guy hasn't even been in charge for 6 months yet ffs. The manager of every football club is the last person to be praised when things go right and the first to be criticised when results aren't going their way.

The finger needs to be pointed at the players far more often in my opinion, and not because of lack of technical ability or because they had a bad game, but because they didn't show any gut or passion. They are on ridiculous amounts of money and most of the time they dont seem to give a s**t about the result.

I'm a firm believer that every manager deserves at the very least a year in charge, and after that, if results are still going against you and there is clearly no change in performances, things need to be looked at.

Lets not forget he inherited a squad that was completely f**ked from top to bottom by OGS, the only manager who didnt have my backing because not only did he play a huge part in us getting relegated, but he never did anything in the world of football (as a manager) to justify being hired by at the time, a Premier League club. His reputation as a player and his connections got him the job lets be honest.

And if anyone needed any evidence as to how far a bit of passion and will can take you in football... just look at Bradford in the FA Cup.

You won't get much of a response here Ryan as everyone likes to pretend they know more than experienced professionals and would have done a better job than Slade themselves.

I'll be honest, I haven't been too impressed the last few months but I definitely agree with your sentiments. Slade is the man in charge and will get my full backing until he is gone. Things won't get better whilst we berate the coaching staff who, as you rightly point out, walked into a very tough position.

Slade HAD my backing 100% but he has gradually lost it with the lack of tactical decisions, strange team selections and the continuously picking players who are under performing

The style of football hasn't been good but has that been deliberate or has it been down to bad form?

The team certainly played a lot better this week so if the football and results improve will people change their minds about Slade?

Some have suggested Trollope is entirely to blame for the better football, he only started this week. I am sure he has been an encouraging influence but maybe this is a long-term project.

The biggest problem is the club or Slade don't help themselves by putting out contradictory statements. Wasn't long ago we were aiming for promotion and now we are in 'transition'. It has to be one or the other.

As far as the club goes they made a statement by sacking Ole after a few bad results and performances and now Slade has survived worse form and performances?

This club sorely needs clarity on all levels.

You are right actually although I would put them on a par. Slade coaches these players day in day out, and come Saturday there is no shape or obvious tactics. You could drag any coach out of local league football to teach a team to pump long high aimless balls up the middle in the hope that someone may eventually get on the end of one, and to insist on choosing players who are obviously not on form, and to select other players to play in positions that do not suit them. I've said in previous posts that I have seen every manager since the Scoular era, and there haven't been too many that I would rate as badly as our present coach.

If everyone thought the same the world would be a boring place.
Personally I think Slade was a dreadful appointment,I consider him totally out of his depth and can't see him being a success at the club and would like him replaced.This however is my opinion that I am sure some will agree and some disagree with.

I have been supporting The City since the 50's and,in my opinion, Slade is one of the worst managers we have had. He seems to be way out of his depth at this level and unable to motivate the players. Against Blackburn Trollope was doing all the talking and directing of players while they were on the pitch. Coincidentally we saw a much better performance from the team.

100% disagree. I support every manager that takes over the role however it gets to the stage ( well with Slade it does) you have to call it a day and see the back of him. This club has gone back a long way and it is the worst football that we have seen for at least a decade. He may be a decent bloke but unfortunately he is out of his depth in the Championship. His team selections, formations, tactics, you cannot put all that down to the players. There is no doubt that Trollope's input before the Blackburn game helped. Why would you want to keep a manager that is damaging your club?

Im sorry. I will never back Russel Slade. I will never support him. And i hope he will leave sooner rather than later. We from scandinavia could tell his lies and unproffesianalism early on, as we had first hand media information on the Daehlie situasion. From that point it has been one lie, following the other. The one exuse following the other, and blaming everyone but himself.
He is nothing but a massive failior, and not worthy the responsibility of leading this club. I read posters on this site that has more in depth knowledge on the team, the club and the league than he does. Hell, even I have a higher education than he does in football. It's embarresing, it's another failior and no way forward. Should have stuck with Ole 4 more games
