Would take kenedy over deilhi on tonights showing
imo he showed more tonight than deilhi did in any of his performances
hope he can sustain that kind of performance :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Disagree, thought Daehli showed a lot of promise ini a lot of games at a higher level.

Kennedy looked decent but lets see him over a few games.

Never judge a player off one game.. Remember Gavin Gordion? He did however have a great debut and could be a gem. Long May it continue!! :bluescarf:

He looked better than decent, but I agree with what you're saying.

Cant post that topic Deilhi is a god on here. Kennedy showed more in one game than Matts did in his time here.

Have simply got to intervene here.

I saw Kennedy play a number of games for Hibs earlier this season & to compare him to Mats is laughable. Kennedy who I remnd you was sent back from his loan at Hibs for not being quite good enough for the Scottish championship (not even the SPL!!). To compare an international player who has obvious ability and potential to kennedy after a single appearance is incredible.

To give Kennedy credit he isnt a bad player but had very little end product at hibs. He started well and impressed first few games but faded bady after that.

Will be intrested to see how he pans out with and and i'd quite happily be proven wrong.

at last some one with a bit of sense commenting!

Also when he was at hibs they were leaking goals. And changed formation to sure up the defence. Took the wingers out of the game (that's why he didn't play much) although it's very early stages to compare them both, I'd say he looks a great prospect though!

As mentioned previously, my Everton mate was not happy Everton let him go. He told me that Kennedy was great initially at Hibs, but because the Hibs defence was so crap (most players in the scottish championship I assume are crap) Alan Stubbs had to tighten it right up at the back and the wingers Harris, Standton and Kennedy were sacrificed as a result. Harris is now on loan to the SPL and starting most games. Stubbs said that it was not Kennedy's fault that he wasn't playing, but he had to change the system. The system worked and Hibs started to claw back some points and are now second in the league. Kennedy went back to Everton after his full window to window loan and was not sent back from his loan at Hibs for not being quite good enough for the Scottish championship like you say. In January he told me he watched Kennedy play some Everton u21 games and he impressed and had quite a few teams come in for him. He has just made his championship debut and has done really well. Please excuse the fans for being optimistic about this young man. From what I saw, his end product was very good on Tuesday night.

I hope you are proven wrong and after Tuesday night I think there is a good chance you will be.

Having said that, I wouldn't start him just yet, he is still developing

No doubt the same people going OTT after one performance will be the same people on his back in a few weeks when he doesnt hit the heights they hoped.

This is true actually. Sure he will be rubbish sometimes, all wingers are especially young wingers.

But looks to me that when he's on fire he's on fire.

kennedy and deilhi both similar in age and both have potential
what I actually said was and still believe kennedy did / showed more in his one game than deilhi did with us
deilhi showed no end product unlike kennedy :bluescarf:

Im a Hibs season ticket holder and watch them every week. Harris was loaned out because Heffernan wouldn't go to Dundee because he was on mega money at HIbs and we needed Boyle from Dundee to cover Malonga up top because he had gone to African cup of nations (Heff not good enough). Loan for Harris was decided so we could still get Boyle because Harris had literally no confidence this year after his bad leg injury last year & fans were getting on his back, No doubt about the boys talent though so not surprised he is playing in the SPL. Stanton is better as a CM so not really a winger. You are right that the formation was changed but Kennedy was on a 6 month loan (http://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/s ... -1-3503732) and got sent back in Jan so did get cut short. We were using him as a Sub for the most part when formation was changed but was dissapointing after a good start. Im sure if he was making a big enough impact we would have kept him.

Hibs defence was helped by the formation change but mainly with the arrival of Fontaine who has been excellent. It was the Midfield we were having issues with as not really creating many chances to score.

I just dont think that Kennedy can be compared to Mats after one game, especially as I've seen the lad play in person a number of times and even when we were playing with wingers he wasnt cutting it. Admittedly formation change didnt help him but in my opinion after seeing him I dont think he's all that good.

All the best to the lad though, he could develop into a quality player and as a Cardiff fan untimatley I hope he does.

Whilst I admire your enthusiasm - You cannot judge a player on one good performance.

Anyone from the Vanerama Conference upwards can be brilliant on their day.. at the end of the day they are all paid to play football and as a result are going to be very talented at what they do.

Whether he is good enough to be consistent at this level - we will have to wait and see.

In my opinion Daehli isn't championship standard at present (I know he is an international for Norway, but he hardly set any of the games he played alight)- but it was obvious to see he has potential to be a good premier league standard footballer in the future.

Given the clubs current state of affairs, is it a good breeding ground for young talent?... i'm not too sure. It was probably a good career move for him to leave and develop elsewhere

In your opinion he's not that good? Did you see the game on Tuesday? In my opinion he is very good, albiet it just after watching him once. An Everton friend of mine thinks he's very good after watchin him play u21 football. His loan was window to window, not six months, contracted till the 5th Jan. IMO all young football players should stay well away from the scottish league, absolute rubbish. Enjoy your season ticket.
