Vincent Tan to fight Langston all the way as club refuse to meet payment deadline ahead of court action

The Bluebirds are refusing to pay the outstanding sum of money to Langston over loan notes and believe the legal battle will provide the answers they are seeking about the identity of the Swiss based company

Cardiff City are ready to take their battle over an unpaid £6million-plus bill to Langston to the High Court after demanding to know exactly who their creditors are.

The Bluebirds are refusing to pay the outstanding sum of money to Langston over loan notes and believe the legal battle will provide the answers they are seeking about the identity of the Swiss based company.

Langston demanded the next instalment of a payment schedule by Friday, before putting that time scale back to Monday, but we understand the money has not been forthcoming from the Bluebirds’ hierarchy.

They are happy for the matter to proceed down the legal route in their quest to find out more about Langston.

Cardiff chairman Mehmet Dalman says: “It is bad governance not knowing who is the owner of a debt we are trying to honour.

“Right at the moment I want to know who it is.”

Langston are expected to file papers at the High Court asking for a summary judgement.

Dalman confirmed the money has not been paid.

Club president and former Cardiff owner Sam Hammam , who is due to arrive in the UK over the next couple of days, has been widely seen as Langston’s representative.

The original debt of £24m was in the form of loan notes issued by The Langston Corporation when Hammam was owner of the club.

In 2013 Cardiff and Langston announced ‘an amicable resolution’ to the historical debt issue, with Hammam getting a role with the club as part of the settlement and his representative Michael Filiou taking a seat on the board of directors.

When the matter between the two parties originally went to the High Court in 2008, Mr Justice Briggs stated that, in effect, ‘Hamman was Langston’.

Three years ago the two parties reached agreement on a £22m settlement, to be paid in the form of a £15m up front sum, followed by £7m in £250,000 quarterly instalments over seven years.

That payment schedule started last year, but more than £6m is still outstanding.

The club, through Dalman, have written to Langston to ask more about the company and the new stand-off means the Bluebirds are happy for the matter to return to court in order to find a resolution.

Wez, I'm the one who has made it a sticky :thumbright: yet its virtually same story repeated 3 times in one week.
I remember you saying Langston will never get paid, yet theyve had already more than anyone said they would off :thumbright:

Plus did you know Ridsdale got Langston to offer a deal to Tan a few years ago at half the total money? Tan turned it down and ending up paying more

I remember Tan not wanting to pay Dave Jones,Peter Risdale, some of our CEO'S and they all ending up getting all of what they wanted. Plus watch out for Ole and now even Malky when he is cleared.

This will be another excuse not to make us Debt Free as promised years ago.

A message for Tan, football is not for you :thumbright:

I believe this has all come about because Sam was involved in some way about a consortium takeover that was spoke about not long ago.

Yes Sam said he was not leading a consortium but that does not mean he was not involved.

I agree with you 100% Mehmet, so why the hell did the club pay £15m to Langston in 2013 :? and what exactly has changed since that payment was made to bring us to the doorstep of the High Court again over this issue.

Steve as you say it is what you believe ! So you are saying you don't know.

I didn't see or hear you questioning Sam Hammam when you were sat in conversation with him in the pub before the Bolton away game.

In fact I would say that you were very much in favour of Sam returning to the club to have a bigger role than he already has.

As a humorist, maybe Langston is Wonga (joke...no libel).

What was the interest rate on the debt, I remember reading a number a while back that was very high?

My view, they should have done due-diligence more thoroughly before buying.
All Tan had to say was "who is Langston" before buying.

But he was in a rush and gambled on the Blackpool play-off.

Personally I'd love to know who Langston really is, not a bad idea to go to court. If the club lose I guess they just have to pay what they already are plus some expenses.

Hear we go again so its f*cking personal again
and not quite true as usual

yes I was one of many who had a FREE drink from sam as he put a free bar on for the whole bus
I was not as stated all over sam what ever that means
but I did talk to him on the subject of getting our blue back
I asked him as he was a life president and didnt have to answer to tan would he want to become a spokesman for us fans in our persuit of getting our colours and badge back
if that constitutes being all over him and wanting him more involved then yes I admit I asked him that
What that has got to do with this thread I dont know
and im still waiting for some one in the know to confirm who put this whole story of a court case and langstone not getting paid into the media hence starting the circus off again :bluescarf:

Buying into a new industry. Advice is simple, listen to the experts and understand how the industry operates. Then see if the opportunity is real.

I mentioned this in another post, Tan's weakness is himself. In some ways he is worse than George W.Bush. At least GWB surrounded himself with people who knew what they were doing, and he LISTENED to them. We might not agree with what they proposed to him, but they knew the strategy they desired.

Tan's legacy is simple...
"I was successful in Asia because I KNOW Asia", "I have been unsuccessful in Football, because I DON'T LISTEN!"

But that said, I think he is doing right now with the cost cuts.
If I were Tan I'd just LISTEN to Mr.Dalman he understands M&A.

I don't mean verbal bullshit, but a well thought out plan, with mission, goals, targets and a vision?
