Says Darren Huckerby
@Hucks6dh6 Cardiff play proper lower league stuff, lump it to the big man, long throw in's, dangerous from set plays #NcfcvCardiff
What do you think about Huckerby's comments ?
Opinions please.

Pretty much spot on at the moment isn't he
Mon Jan 19, 2015 8:44 pm

Sorry just read it again and can't agree with the last point about set plays
Mon Jan 19, 2015 8:46 pm
route 1 , long ball call it what you like it's our style of play at the minute so yes pretty much spot on
Mon Jan 19, 2015 8:48 pm
100% agree,we play like a local league park side.
Mon Jan 19, 2015 8:51 pm
I saw Newport recently and I thought they played better football than Cardiff, a lot more exciting sad to say!
Mon Jan 19, 2015 8:56 pm
Spot on. We can't play a passing game.
Mon Jan 19, 2015 8:57 pm
He's spot on, I'm not saying there's a right way to play but if your not winning you will be criticised.
Mon Jan 19, 2015 8:58 pm
Half way through the first half at Norwich I realised that I was as bored with Gunnerson's long throws as I am with Turners cross field long ball.
Very little positive effects ever come from them.

Tony Pullis plays direct football well, so does Allerdyce sometimes, we play a lower league, lower standard poor quality direct game.
He's right.....

Spot on

nothing wrong with direct football if it's effective

He is spot on, we create nothing, so pump it up front and hope for the best, that said use Harris and get few more creative players in, and we may have better chance

Its out of date football.
Better teams can counter it too easily so its rarely used.
Our possession stats tell the story. So does the table.
Mon Jan 19, 2015 9:19 pm
When was the last time you walked out of the ground and said "f**k me we played them off the park" & "realy enjoyed that game" I can't remember anyway?
Mon Jan 19, 2015 9:27 pm
Pompey in 2011 was a good game April 2011 (had to check that)

only 4 years then.
Mon Jan 19, 2015 9:33 pm
We have been poor for a few years, even winning the championship was because the other teams around us were shit.
the thing I hate at the moment is most of the players dont seem up for it.
and as I said before... it is not a manager problem, its bad from bottom to top.. needs someone to come in and change a lot behind the scenes
Mon Jan 19, 2015 9:35 pm
we are basically shit, hence the direct hope we are lucky type football..lets hope we can get a couple of midfielders that can pass, or we are doomed.... doomed i say..
Mon Jan 19, 2015 9:49 pm
Huckerby correct. We have a poor manager and almost zilch quality in the team. How would we fare in the Conference with our shower of shit?
Mon Jan 19, 2015 9:50 pm
Can't agree with dangerous from set pieces.....
Mon Jan 19, 2015 10:35 pm
Any player with any skill or flair gets surgically excised from the squad. Slade will only be content when he gets 11 lower league journeymen playing 4-4-2 hoofball. Nearly there then!
Mon Jan 19, 2015 10:38 pm
Harsh on the lower leagues.

we did the same under mackay, we lumped it up to helguson and scored a high percentage of our goals from set pieces.
the difference is we got results under mackay. if we were winning every week we wouldn't get articles like this. thats football for you.
Mon Jan 19, 2015 10:50 pm
But at least we are doing it in blue.

I always say that the table doesn't lie, even if it feels wrong, because that is ultimately how we measure success or failure.
We are halfway through a season, having changed manager again and shedding players in the January sales, yet lie mid-table Championship level. Therefore, the original post is just ludicrous in my opinion.
Lower league means League One at best. So how come so far Cardiff are placed comfortably in the second tier??
I guess we will see at the end of the season Bluebirds!!
