Current form over last six games gives us 0.666 points per game... 20 games left that form gives us about 47 points...

Last year relegation was 44 points ok but year before was 54 points then

40 but forth from bottom was 48
42 but forth was again 48
47 pts
46 pts

So if we continue we will be there or there abouts...

Or possibly the elephant in the room. Your analysis is interesting but I happen to think that it is based on inconsistent data and there will be an improvement. That doesn't make me delusional, just optimistic. All the best though (hope I'm right!).

The method you used doesn't take into account the many variables in this system, a system which changes 6/24ths of its membership every year. 25%!! That is bound to throw up inconsistencies in itself. There is the change of personnel partway through the season, changes in managers and back room staff, injuries, rebrands, support, luck, refereeing decisions, etc., etc.

So yes, I believe this form of simplistic stats is flawed and, dare I say, delusional.

By the way, if you like number crunching, have a look at After38.com . They currently predict CCFC to finish almost exactly mid table. I have followed this site for some time and they are very rarely too far out, especially when you pass the half-way mark in the season.

I predicted mid-table with possibility of play-offs (one judgement by the head, faulty as it is, the other as a football fan who wants the best for his club).

Bump: A month on and it is now a big problem, not playing Saturday if results go against us... We can't score... Don't look like scoring... Nearly bottom of the form table... Made Brighton look half decent last night... How much folding dosh are you putting on us beating Blackburn... I'm sorry to say this but its not looking good... Oh and I told you so!

To good to go down, have you heard that before... For me I think we need Warnock in to light a fire under this lot and give s some organisation. Won't happen, Tan will have a shock next Tuesday when there's less than 10k there and we get battered. We are the Villa of the Championship now.
