" STAND UP FOR THE BOYS IN BLUE "

Cardiff Fans were the 12th man today

Cardiff City 1 Fulham 0

Crowd 22,515

CardiffCity: Moore, Brayford, Malone, Turner, Morrison, Adeyemi, Gunnarsson, Whittingham, Noone, Le Fondre, Jones.

Subs : Wilson, John, Ralls, Connolly, Kim, Harris and Revell.

Cardiff City players ran out in their proud Blue Kits to an electric atmosphere and a stadium full of Blue other than a few hundred Fulham fans who clapped our return to Blue.


After a shocking Christmas period, the Bluebirds welcomed the Cottagers to the Welsh capital in 12th place with their opponents today down in 17th, albeit just three points behind. Fulham like Cardiff have been very inconstant this season.

City players started brightly and Le Fondre was brought down in the 5th minute which looked odds on for a sending off,but some how the ref only gave a yellow card

On the pitch the game went quite for a while,then what looks like an own goal, City took the lead 1-0 Ali announced it as a Sean Morrison goal? City players seemed to have a new spark about them and looked like they wanted to win this game, but to be honest I thought the rest of the first half both clubs attempts on goals were both poor from either side.

Over all City deserved to go in winning at half-time

Half-time 1-0

City's new signing came came on for the second half to replace Kenwyne Jones.

Was the game exciting,no but City players were battling and never looked tired.

Cardiff fans continued to sing " Stand up for the Boys in Blue "

Really I dont think it really mattered about how we played today,as our fans were just proud to be Blue again

Previous games like today,we would of lost.

Personally I feel a lot of work needs to be done if we are going to go up the League.

Malone came off for Declan John in the 80th minute.

Interesting decision Brayford man of the match. Had a very poor start with clearances that went up. Morrison or Turner MOTM for me. Turned saved Malone a number of times!

Annis, do you think the chant 'we'll always be blue' should be retired now that Tan has given the fans what's they want?

There's loads of other blue songs to be sung, I'm not sure that chanting that is a bit like rubbing Tan'a nose in the fact we have won this particular battle, and as the chairman said, that is something we should avoid.

Just a thought, I'm not 100% against the chant continuing, I'm just asking your opinion on the matter

Agree 100% let's take our win of regaining blue with class and not be bad winners

I'm with you mate as I think Turner was outstanding today...I was also impressed with the work rate of Adeyemi.

Great support. It was very emotional for me watching our boys come out in Blue, I couldn't sing as I was in tears of pride. I'm still feeling emotional now. Time for a few Stella's for me now. Bloooobirdssss

Hi Gavin,

No,I feel we should continue it,as its not a protest anymore,its more of a celebration,a reminder of our battle to get our identity back,plus it lifts our crowd at the same time,We should never forget.

Brayford for me too. He has so much energy, I thought Malone a Ravel Did well too...

Yes the game was once again poor and its a worry.
I am not convinced Slade is our answer,but he deserves more time and its over to Slade from now on,no more excuses. Slade is def here till May,so we can only hope he proves many of us wrong

THREE POINTS on a big day for us back in blue. The atmosphere was better to I thought it would have been electric all game but it wasn't considering what's gone on. It felt like home today

The performance wasn't great but we battled well,looked a lot fitter and most importantly the fans were united before the team.

Morrison I thought was man of the match,he was a rock and so was ben turner.Im one of his biggest critics but brayford did very well today,he read the game well throughout

I felt Brayford was everywhere

All battled today,but not a good game.

Until he went off Kenwynne was everywhere but Ravell had a really good second half. Turner was a much better captain than Marshall, but it worried me how many times two of our players went for the same ball - Gunnarsson and Morrison were the biggest culprits. Still, none of that really matters today, but we have to start addressing things on the pitch as well as off it. Maybe the players will respond to a better atmosphere but I don't get Declan John coming on with ten minutes to go and almost immediately needing Turner to help him out as he is not up to the pace of the game. Slade seems to have an obsession with changing the left back late in the game.

Brayford ,man of the match bollox. Young Scott on his debut in an arena unfamiliar on his debut played outstanding. This is Annis's opinion and nothing more. Big day for our new full back and outshone Brayford all game.

Quite agree turner seemed to be more into the game as captain.

Malone suprised me I wasnt expecting that he would be able to keep up with the level straight away although fulham are bottom half of the table. Will see when we get a top 5 team.

Declan John is not a left back he should be playing on the wing it frustrates me alot to see him struggle I prefer him on the ball not to say he would make a great winger but he should get a bit of time to see.

The game wasn't that good. But we won and seen are identity back for the 1st time.

I didn't see the need to change any of the back 4 to be honest unless fitness or knock wzs an issue but thought he played regular for Millwall so fitness should be fine. Alf run legs of today and so did ademyi. Think we need another cm who can run with ball and tackle box to box. So when whitts, gunnar or ademyi needs rest , similar or better quality can come on. Kenwyn great 1st half thought revel done well once settled a bit but not 1st touch and presence of KJ but more mobile. Still feel need a out and out goal scorer. But very happy with 3 points and blue cracking day

Personally I would be playing Harris,Ralls and John from the start

Loved watching the team playing in Blue again and no one can have any doubt that it helped the bond between players and fans which is vital if we are to move on positively.

Not a great game, but did anyone really expect anything different, with two average Championship teams and that's what we are this season. Pleased with both RS signings and again that's a big positive and hopefully he can do some more business before the end of the window.

Correct just my opinion and thats what opinions/debates/beliefs are all about and I respect yours

FANS CHEERING ALL THROUGH THE GAME TODAY WAS GREAT

Absolutely loved today, just felt right. The dark cloud has gone and my passion has returned, let's hope we can kick on from here and build for the future.
