Looking good for us fans.

Hopefully we can all unite now and pull together and support the team and manager.

It looks obvious our return to Blue comes with a reduced financial backing from Tan.

I will accept that :thumbright: as Tan has already started doing this anyway :thumbright: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Do you think if blue does happen that sooner or later our fans will soon turn again to wanting success on the pitch?

It looks like Tan is streamlining for a sale.

Question needs to be asked about Tans long term plans, investment and commitment.

Is Prem still his goal or does he now want out ?

Re: " TONIGHTS CARDIFF CITY MEETING "

Thu Jan 08, 2015 12:24 am

Put it this way, as long as Tan is still owner, he is liable to keep the club afloat. If he doesn't want to see a business fail, he won't let us go out of business, and definitely won't want HMRC knocking.

So blue all the way, reduced investement, build a squad of hard working, young players who will fight for OUR badge! :bluescarf:

Re: " TONIGHTS CARDIFF CITY MEETING "

Thu Jan 08, 2015 12:26 am

I think the no blue no renew has won the day for us fans.

If we are blue next year I think we will have about 10,000 season ticket holders, if we had stayed red we would have had about 5,000 season ticket holders.

Whilst Tan could easily afford to cover the loss of revenue, it would look bad on him.

Re: " TONIGHTS CARDIFF CITY MEETING "

Tan is a business man and they hate losing money more than face. He was waiting until all ambassador season ticket holders finished the freeze. Then seeing he would lose 10,000 in season sales thought time to listern, but there is always stipulations to change back to blue and badge??. :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: Please just change us back

I can finally go to watch my beloved bluebirds next season.

Maybe a time to makes banners and say thank you for the blue

That would I bet he would drop a few quid in the pot then ;) instead of a fewmouldy potatoes

I think ill be the first

Thank You Tan xxxxxx

'Reduced financial backing' I think everyone will accept! But what about 1. NO financial backing (you've said he ploughs money in monthly to balance-although I accept the cut backs etc may mean he no longer needs to and 2. That 100mil I've put in... I'll call that back in too!!

From what we've seen, he doesn't seem like a man to be crossed, I think he'll offer the blue but when we accept (because we will) he will do everything in his power to get us bankrupt!

Time to be humble if blue returns.

I'm not sure that when you are a billionaire you are more worried about losing relatively small money over losing face. The revenue from merchandising has plummeted due to the rebrand and that hasn't seemed to affect Tan in the slightest. However, it must have been hugely humiliating for him seeing us live on TV across the world in the most prestigious domestic cup competition in the world in an empty stadium.

The start of the dialogue was not due to Tan losing a few quid but the dent in his ego.

Just out of interest, as I havent had time to read the forum as much as I used too, where did the information come from that Tan is about to revert us back? Is it from a reliable source? I ask becuase it seems fairly recently (xmas day) that Tan personally said no chance?

Exactly Annis . Debt to equity never materialised anyway did it . I am led to believe this was the promise a lot of the red brigade went for . Must be disappointing c 3 years on for them .

Dont count your chickens until they have hatched annis.

If it is a return to blue there will undoubtedly be a catch

Re: " TONIGHTS CARDIFF CITY MEETING "

Reduced finances ...... just look around the CCS currently and the way the Club is being run plus look at the transfer fees being paid out this week !

Re: " TONIGHTS CARDIFF CITY MEETING "

Thu Jan 08, 2015 8:13 am

What is needed tonight is for us fans to remain United, no one trying to over talk each other, no one trying to get his /her own personal view across, but to be calm and responsive, say clearly and precisely what our club wants, return to Blue next season. We also need to listen,as it is meant to be a 2 way thing.this is a big chance, let's not spoil it, once voices are raised, or people start over talking, then we have blown it. .Time to show we are articulate and not a bunch of thugs. I don't expect we will be told of a return to blue tonight, but it's a step in right direction. Wish there were less numbers going, as 40-50 i, in my opinion, is a recipe for shambles.

Re: " TONIGHTS CARDIFF CITY MEETING "

Thu Jan 08, 2015 8:23 am

Is this simply a season ticket selling ploy, it is the right time of year. Do you think they will say the fans can have blue back if we sell 20,000 season tickets again like premier league season with a significant price hike like last year?

If they put 15% on like last year then most expensive adult season ticket would be £789 instead of £519 on price freeze and least expensive would be £499 instead of £329 on price freeze.

They can frame it as 'if the fans really want blue they can make it happen'

Gavin,

From with in our Club and people associated with our club.

But as Ive said recently it all depends on the fans being united tonight and all agreed and no abuse etc :thumbright: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Re: " TONIGHTS CARDIFF CITY MEETING "

hope it goes well

tans no fool, its all part of his plan

invite a bunch of over excited and passionate fans along to a potential back to blue meeting...yet no one really knows whats on the table just yet

fans will no doubt pre meet in the local pubs before hand, stupid to think other wise and if things do boil ove rthat is where its going to stem from

40 to 50 bubbling city fans talking to 2 or 3 well mannered (cough) gents dressed in suits

if it goes pear shaped i can see the headlines now

its going to be emotional but lets hope a minority does not mess it up for everyone, and as said we dont really know the ins and outs as yet

we know there will be terms and conditions

Would it not be a good idea to have a spokes person for the 40 attending tonight Annis ?
It would save a lot of arguments etc.... ?
That person could have a clear agenda (colour, badge and finances etc) to bring to the table, and any questions to the floor, the spokesperson could pose the question/proposition and ask for a show of hands from the other 39.
It would be better organised imho.

Everyone going does need to take one for the team, and not queer anything that is very true.

What is also true is that the Chairman and the General Manager need to hear how much the blue and the badge mean to us, and how hollow things have been from the day they were cast aside. Remember, they aren't us, and as such aren't living and breathing our hurt. Without abuse, they both need to understand how we feel and then we park it and move on.

All fans can be expected to do if we return to blue is the following:

Renew season tickets and actively promote renewal of season tickets by others
Lobby other fans to come along to games
Attend cup games
Buy blue kits and other merchandise
Wholeheartedly get behind the manager and team
Stop a campaign of hate against Tan

There's not much else mere fans can do other than the above if we return to blue. Will it be enough for Tan?

These activities would have a huge impact on the atmosphere and spirit among fans and would give all of the players and coaches a lift. While this year seems a big ask to even get to the play offs going into next season, which is when the team will more than likely be allowed to wear blue again, would be make next season one to remember.

No disrespect but i dont think Tan is the type of businessman to make massive business decisions based on whether or not 40 fans sit down and behave themselves

Re: " TONIGHTS CARDIFF CITY MEETING "

Thu Jan 08, 2015 8:39 am

Reds in one corner , blues in the other ......ding ding. That's my biggest concern that people don't kick off as I know a lot fell out and will be in the same room together for the 1st time. There will be a catch with anything that the club give in to. I feel it will be the finances side of things. Who knows but let's hope it's peaceful and everyone behaves otherwise it could go pear shaped. :bluescarf:

I can't believe the likes of Gwyn have the front to turn up at this meeting, he should remain in the background for the time being. All this talk of changing back to Blue is a tad premature at this stage, on this forum it is already becoming a formality, it's only consultation one, Borley has said on Twitter that there will be a number of these consultations. I wouldn't be surprised to see fans strung along and any categoric decision taken after supporters have or have not renewed. The club have not done things properly for the last two years, so why start now

Very good post and I agree with almost all of it, the only thing I'm not 100% sure on is Slade. I will continue to support the team as they are only doing what they are told, but I think Slade lacks the tactical knowledge to move forward in this division. Just my opinion of course. :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:
