Really dissatisfied with this player! He's 31 and just only come up in the Championship and Slade Fancy's him! Don't surprise when all he knows is League 1 players! :( :( :(

  We will never go back up with signings like this, cut costs yes! but off load some high earners that are not playing or even getting a look in, and only sign players as good as or better than what we have, or at least proven at our level!!

I agree with Jamieccfcbluebirds this idiot needs to get back to the lower leagues where he belongs!! We have a striker that scored 16 goals in La Liga last season & we want to sign a nomadic donkey who has spent his career in the lower leagues who was completely innocuous when he played against us last month.

Any idea what the fee is? If it's low and he's a back up getting rid of Macheda would be fine.

Rotherham fans main consensus is he puts in tons of effort. That's the last thing you can say about Macheda.

We have some of the worst f*cking fans in the world of Football.

Slating players before they have joined not actually knowing or seeing them play, having watched Revell on many occasion, he is a hardworking target man who will breathe life into our strike force, the problem with our strikers is the non existant service they get from our midfield.

Lay off the fresh faces you bunch of twats

We are not addressing the issue by looking at a 31 yr old who has spent most of his career yet again in the lower leagues! We have strikers all capable of scoring as proven with their other clubs! They cant score without service! Midfield needs sorting out! Slade has gone for this guy as its all he's knows.

Well if your happy with lower league mediocrity that's fine but is there any need for the petty childish insults towards others who have a different opinion to you? With regards to Ravell his record speaks for its self & I have seen him play.

yes, but this is a 31 year old with a record of not even 1 in 5. in league one. not the championship, league one.

i think that tells us all we need to know, fuckface.

Hopefully.

If that is the case, then I'd probably support this transfer.

What planet are you on ? Kenwyne is on 10 goals....

And on 40k.

He is also terrible in most games he plays. Only heading in the occasional goal or tap in.

Daryl Murphy is on 17 goals. Rudy Gestede 12. Kenwyne Jones should be banging them in but he isn't and his heart isn't in it.

Tarah Kenwyne.

I'll support Revell during his time here. It's Slade's choice of thinking which I don't understand.

I don't imagine we paid much for him, when considering his contract at Rotherham, but why spend on a striker who's already in his 30's and struggling to score in the same league as we're currently struggling in?

We could probably use that money on a younger player scoring for fun in a lower league. It worked for Burnley, it worked for QPR, it worked for Leicester and it's worked for a large number of other clubs at this level.

I hope I'm proven wrong, but this is another deal begging to go sour if Slade and his team fail to rake in good results from now on.

People moaning about his goal scoring record, since when are target men supposed to bang in shit loads of goals, they are used to bring people into space mainly!

Vardy, Austin and even LeFondre had service from a good midfield set up, unfortunately if we were to sign someone like Eoin Doyle of Chesterfield, Michael Smith of Swindon etc, they would get nowhere near as many goals as our midfield is poor.

Cardiff City close to signing Rotherham striker Alex Revell as clubs agree fee

Front man Revell will arrive in Cardiff on Thursday for a medical and to discuss personal terms

Cardiff City boss Russell Slade is close to making his second signing of the January transfer window after Rotherham accepted a bid for striker Alex Revell.

The 31-year-old will arrive in Cardiff on Thursday to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical ahead of his move.

That deal will follow the capture of full-back Scott Malone who completed a £100,000 switch from Millwall on Wednesday and will make his debut against Fulham on Saturday.

It is unclear exactly how much Cardiff will pay the Millers but, with Revell out of contract at the end of the season, the fee is understood to be minimal.
Revell played a big part in Rotherham’s recent rise from League Two to the Championship and is well known to Slade having played under him at Brighton and Leyton Orient previously.

He also scored two goals in last season’s League One play-off final against Slade’s former team Orient.

Revell has been a regular starter for the Championship strugglers this season but has only scored four goals in 26 appearances.

He began his career after coming through the youth ranks at Cambridge United before joining Braintree, Brighton and then Southend. As well as Orient and Rotherham, Revell has had loan spells at Kettering, Swindon and Wycombe.
