" Cardiff City fans react angrily to Revell rumours "

07th JANUARY 2015

BY: JOE CAWTHORN

FANS of Cardiff City have reacted angrily to news that the Bluebirds have made a bid for Millers striker Alex Revell.

Online news website Wales Online posted a story earlier today reporting of the Championship side’s interest in the former Leyton Orient forward.

But fans commented on the article questioning the priorities of owner Vincent Tan and the ability of manager Russell Slade.

One fan, named Derrick, commented on the story saying: “Mr Tan, please get rid of this idiot you employed, Slade has no idea what he is doing.”

Another, called Doug wrote: “This is all very embarrassing......Tan must be set to sell up,” while Richard Hart wrote: “oh dear...is this the 'quality' we are going to get???”

Thirty one-year-old Revell is out of contract with the Millers in the summer and has worked with current Cardiff boss Russell Slade while both were at Orient.

The fans favourite wrote himself into Rotherham United folk law when he scored a brace in the League One play off final as Wembley last season, his second goal hailed as one of the best the the new national stadium has seen.

If Revell was to swap South Yorkshire for south Wales, he would end an almost four year affiliation with the Millers in which he has played 170 games, scored 34 goals and won two promotions.

So what do you think Millers fans? Do you think this move would be good business for Rotherham United or Cardiff City, and do you want to see Revell leave the AESSEAL New York Stadium?

It's all so hard to understand the strategy' I can only assume VT and RS are part of a Far East betting syndicate and they have taken up the current offer of 33/1 for us to be relegated!!

Tells me slade cannot manage anything other tha league 1 style players to fit his prehistoric set up and tactics!

Our supporters have become to greedy and think we're bigger than what we actually are.

Appointing Slade was a step in the right direction, a reality check for a majority of our mornic fan base who expect too much.

It's funny how people who wanna be back to blue and are really strong about will complain about be linked with these players, greedy.

We have to get rid of staff at all areas of the club to cut costs.

You wanna know why this is? Because of a Scottish knobhead who couldn't handle money when it was given to him and was too busy taking backhanders and throwing price tags and wages at all costs.

Malky has played a massive role in our financial mess and screwing our club over and it is beyond me our supporters will idolise him.

Writing a player off before he's even signed, brilliance.

If your annoyed by the players we are linked with or anything financially then look no further if you want to blame someone because it's 99% Malky.

Slade ain't going for these players out of his preference.

If we go back to blue I honestly couldn't give a shit who we sign. I'd just be celebrating for the next 6 months no matter where we are in the table.

This is where differ. If we play good football in red I'll be there. But if we play crap in blue I won't be. Believe me I've seen quite enough rubbish and witnessed too many disappointments over the past 50 years .And relegation from the championship would definitely be the final straw.

Spot I have to agree with Colourblind and the players this journey man manager is targeting would be more suited to Newport County's level not ours!

Well said young man !!!!!

Javi's contract was proably quite complicated based upon appearances and goals, after the Bournmouth game should he have been rewarded with bonuses ?
Carl dale, Stant who were they with before they signed for us ? Who the hell do we think we are nowadays ? Big time Charlies. Well we won't be anymore. Vinnie is closing his cheque book and I am happy. Live within our means, develop our kids and find bargains - proper football.......

If the club is to be run properly then this is the caliber of player we'll be signing from now on.
The club can't continue to build debt and run at a loss.

Back to blue in league two will do me fine. :bluescarf:

I have to admit, some of the best days out following City were in the lower leagues.
Don't get me wrong, it's good to see the better football in the Championship (which is better for the fan than the prem imho) but the higher up the league we go, the more distant the club seems.
Anyone else feel this way ?

Well done trying to turn this into a Malky thread.

I agree with you regarding the fans reactions to Revell though. Fans just see his lack of goals and write him off. I said in another thread how Revell was the difference betwen Rotherham going up and Slade taking Leyton Orient up. I've watched him several times since and he's always impressed me. He will lead the line much better than Macheda, as he's a hard working, mobile target man who puts it about, never hides and gives 100%. He has a lot more to his game than most of our fans realise too.

If I am a glory hunter as you suggest don't you think I would have supported another club rather than Cardiff City. I do however regard myself as a football fan. I go to matches to watch football rather than to watch a fashion parade. My wife is more interested than I am in the colours/designs that people wear.
