BONY SET TO LEAVE SWANSEA?????

Fri Jan 02, 2015 11:49 am

Man City want him and are willing to pay whatever it takes i.e £25-£30 million.Worth every penny in this day and age,a class act.Wish we could find someone like him!

Although the gap between Swansea and Cardiff is wide what made that width was one thing.

If we had managed to get a striker a fraction of Bony that gap would be none existent.

I thought he was the answer.

I usually give someone time but he has been a big exception to that. I would say it took me the first 45 minutes at Forest Green to make my mind up.

Hope it's true, what's the source?

They will miss him. His presence defending set pieces as well as hold-up play have been big spin-offs of his ability to rattle the net.

They'll have to be careful who comes in after. Buy a turkey and get stuffed (like we did with Cornelius!).

Interesting times.

People on here slated him for the first 6 months after Swansea signed him, they've crawled away now, hell of a signing, would get into any starting line up team in the uk at th moment with the exception of possibly Chelsea

I think most people read wiki and watched a YouTube video and thought he was a white pele from the reaction on here at the time, the amount of people who think a player is good becaue they watched a YouTube clip or because of a price tag is unreal!

As much as I hate to say it, I dont think we will be signing a bony for many many years now.

Go to Chelsea ideal replacement for drogba type player they use! At times he looked really pissed of being subbed every game at swans! :old:

It's all over the place today, radio and morning papers. They are saying now that Real Madrid have been alerted as they see him as an ideal cover for Karim Benzema!!

Well if & when he does go thats an awful lot of money to strengthen in other areas . , not a bad return on a 12,000,000 outlay , not only has his value increased but his goals have won games to push the side further up the table .

If he goes the jacks will find another gem, We would just waste the money on 10 div2 players :(

Fair play to them, their recruitment has been excellent, and he was probably the best of them. He will be a big loss, but with that money they will probably spend wisely unfortunately !!!

It seems okay to have a little love for our neighbours up the M4 these days. Is this what Tan has driven us to!? (I'd insert a smirking rolly eyed smiley if I knew how)

Still hatred, you can't really say Bony has been a shit buy though can you, just a bit of honesty, especially as the board is no longer full of the gloating inbred's ???

The difference between the two clubs these days is massive and is growing daily, bony was a good bit of business for them, and most on here was saying he would be a bad signing

Your acting as if it's a done deal, as it stands it's pure speculation. Pellegrini has said that they don't have the money to spend this January because of FFP and with the ACoN bound to put off some clubs it's likely he wont leave until the summer.

Anyway, we've got a proven track record for getting good value for money and avoiding flops.

What I've seen of Gomis though look's pretty useful, remember we were interested in him once.

they're on about offloading gomis as well aren't they which is suprising.

Sorry yes, quite right. I should have said "They'll miss him IF......"

The point is really that apart from minor disappointments like Schekter and tragic injuries like Ferrie Bodde, you have the Midas touch with recruitment. But this is probably because your board are only too aware of the pitfalls. At Cardiff, it seems the opposite at times.

Seems a bit of a paradox that it's better to have a tight-fisted grouch like Huw rather than a generous smiler like Tan!!!!

Don't get me wrong, Cardiff will never get on with Swansea, but to be honest, recently the contrast is blinding.

Well done to the jacks and their scouting systems.
Credit given where it's due.

I will happily admit that when he first came I thought he was overpriced, maybe a tad overweight too? But, watching him recently he looks very sharp for a big guy, that goal at qpr was awesome. The jacks contacts in Holland will make them a handsome profit I think. A club that learnt it's lesson and is run properly. Only now is Tan trying to balance the books and paying up expensive signings contracts isn't really clever business either.

The law of averages meant they were bound to get one striker right. They've signed a load of shite up front too in recent years. Fair play they've done well with bony, but who really cares?

Plenty of people care because they follow football & not just CCFC.

What?? A load of shite up front?? 4th year and counting in PL. Bony wasn't there for three of those seasons so they must have done something right. Schekter was a mistake but they got rid pretty quick. Michu??? Technically he was an attacking midfielder but was often played in an advanced role.

Come on now this is just plain daft.

Don't forget too that they use wingers nearly every game. The likes of Sinclair, Dyer, Routledge, Montero also provide goals and feed the strikers with crosses.

I can honestly say that at the moment, not one of the Cardiff squad would get a game at that club. Instead of picking holes in them, we should be looking and learning in my opinion.

I agree that when Bony goes, there will be a need to replace him somehow, but they have a reputation for scouting out great signings. Where they are clever is in going for players who fit their philosophy. The same is true of their managers. That means there is no need for wholesale changes every year or so.

What's happened with each replacement manager at CCFC? They've tried to alter the way the team plays and bought in players rather than work with what they have. Slade is a prime example. Should have gone for Pullis but no. Just bring in an untried manager who knows little about the club. OGS the same.

Who are we to give Swansea advice???

Always amuses me when some of you still maintain that our good decisions are made purely on luck. 'They law of the averages' or the law of having a good scouting department?

You don't get 3 promotions, 3 mid table Premier League finishes, a League Cup and in to the knock out stages of the Europa League on the law of averages, there's logic behind the decisions we make.

Players are brought in how suit our style of play, it makes sense.

If we get say £30 million for Bony, I'm convinced we'll spend it wisely, because we always have done. It says it all when the biggest money flop we've had is Leroy Lita for £1.8 million and even he scored more goals in the Premier League then Cornelius & Kenwyne Jones did put together for you.

Well, it wasn't quite the £30m some were predicting, but he has gone to Man C by the look of it. Good luck to him. Hope he gets the breaks there.

So who do you reckon will fill his boots? Gomis? Oliveira? Papis Cisse? AN Other??

This will be a testing time now with your main goal threat gone. You seem to be sitting pretty in the table, but you need about 10 more points with no easy games ahead. And then, what happens next season?

Better hope for a scouting miracle maybe.

Interesting times.

Haha yeah, he looked slow, weak and directionless. At Bolton their cb was out sprinting him and put him on his arse twice can't remember his name he's about 34!
