" FILL CARDIFF CITY THE STADIUM? '

Thu Nov 13, 2014 9:39 pm

I know City have different offers over time and recently, like a family of four for £40 and buy a mate a ticket for £10 etc but if City offered match tickets for ' £5 ' :thumbright: a seat to the next two home games, surely we could get bumper crowds at the CCS.

Having sell out crowds, or close to it, doesn't guarantee anything on the pitch but it would help the atmosphere if nothing else and it may just give the place and players a lift.

If the club canvassed all season ticket holders on selling tickets at very cheap prices, would many season ticket holders feel it is unfair or would they support it for a short term fix?

With half season ticket sales about to go on sale it may even help to pull more support in long term :bluescarf:

What do you think?

I wouldn't mind special offers, that are cheaper than our ST seats, for a limited period. Any longer, and some might get resentful. But the club need to seriously reduce season ticket prices for next season, especially with the price freeze ending this season. We can't go on paying PL prices for Championship football.

The Club need to seriously reduce at prices for next year if we don't go up or they face a huge fall. Matchday prices need to drop too, the walk ups are tiny. We've got a big stadium now. Better to have 30k in there at 10 quid each than 15k at £20 a game.

I wouldnt care if they sold seats for a fiver for the rest of the season and done half season tickets for 60 quid , but u would end up with alot of disgruntled season ticket holders and rightly so.next years st prices and match day prices need 2 b reasonably priced or it will b mourge.
With all these empty seats why dont the club have school days out and give away a few hundred tickets every game where kids and thier dads or mums could come, get some players 2 visit the school each time 2 promote the club and the free tickets.get the kids before the jacks do.

All these special offers for season ticket holders friends

We are better of not buying
A Season ticket and just buying these special offers off a friend easy to get just ask anyone really

Someone needs to add the prices up throught the season with these special offers and see what's cheaper having a season ticket is ment to be alot cheaper does it actually work out that way

We ripped it out of the gypos for doing these things. Its a big wheel eh?

Kids tickets for a pound, buy one get one free would be our best bet.
Its a sign of modern football. Man city were doing it for a champions league must win game.

The only way we'll fill that stadium is promotion. (Or let Wales play there!)

There's nothing better than having a full house and a great atmosphere.

However the club need to direct their attention to the loyal Season Ticket holders who are at the ground through thick & thin.its all right giving an odd promotion with cheaper tickets but at the moment it seems to have gone on for quite a few games.

What is the point in being a season ticket holder if you have no benefits and it works out cheaper buyer the 'promotional tickets'. It's a fine line. Why not reward ST holders by reducing ST prices from the silly figures at the moment and it is likely that more fans will become ST holders. There will then be more fans inside the stadium.

Saying that it's the performance on the pitch that counts. You could cut ticket costs by a half and you still wouldn't get the crowds in if the performances on the pitch are poor. Need to deliver a decent team and have sensible pricing to see crowds rise.

If the club are worried that the glory supporting happy clapping plastics are loosing interest and the crowds are low, here's a good idea..... return us back to blue and watch the fans return literally in they're THOUSANDS !!!! not to mention the amount of shirt sales and merchandise revenue the club could make !!! why is Tan so thick ?

Easy way around it. All season ticket holders can bye an extra ticket for 5 pound for a friend .

The fa don't allow it.

You are only allowed to do reduced prices like that a couple of times a season iirc.

If we already did promos it won't be allowed.

Not many people are interested in watching a sub-par team in red.

Personnaly I thought the club are better of giving all tickets in the upper ninian stand to schools. That way you help fill the stadium and the kids will hopefully start following Cardiff

If they do then I expect to get back a bit of the money I paid for my season ticket

Hardly caring and appropriate parenting if you want to put your child through watching that shite! :old:

I'd get Childline on standby if I was you! :D

Your missing the point Lee, it does not work that way, it needs to be open to general football fan, it works at little Fulham :thumbright: :bluescarf:

Also having to buy a membership is pathetic, were not Real Madrid.

If they start doing a fiver a ticket they wont end up with many season ticket holders next season.

Luke, I would not do more than 2 matches a season :thumbright:

If we dont go up, watch how many buy next season, with No price freeze.

I am not renewing simples. 520 for adult and junior over the top . I'd pay 250 no more!!!!! Not even a loyalty discount for this season ticket after relegation.

What's happened to the 8-10k fans we had last season?

Personally id fill it with tickets for the local schools all over wales.
Get all the kids involved. Their the future. They can nag Dad to take them most weeks then and hopefully catch the bug that is Cardiff City.
Other tickets could go to armed forces etc

I've always thought this, it seems silly to leave so many seats, no-one can begrudge kids getting in for free, and like you say, it makes business sense to get a percentage of future life-long City fans :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

This time of year it's a good idea with walk up fan's thinking of xmas etc. If the club got a good run also, who's to say the club wouldn't benefit by selling half-season tickets as a result.

Re: " FILL CARDIFF CITY THE STADIUM? '

I don't mind the club doing offers but I will be a bit peed of if they did it all the time and it worked out cheaper not to get a season ticket , I struggle to afford Season Ticket every year but put some money aside for it every year it works out cheaper (atm ) to get a season ticket, but wont be happy if it ends up working out cheaper to buy match by match

This is what worries me, I just hope I don't get priced out next season , the way the prices are going I'm afraid I will :(

About 4 seasons ago my daughter came back from primary school with a city community programme flyer "kids in for a quid" and she wanted to go. I hadn't been since the move into the CCS so I phoned up for tickets........

Four season tickets later and numerous away games she is a city fan and her dad although sulking its not Ninian Park (I would never has taken her there) has discovered another way to watch the city.......Sober and not skint (12:00 meets and food mounts up)

Great idea

I'm not renewing my ST if they don't drop the prices for next season. It's just not the same anymore and I can't justify the price. It'd be my first time not renewing and sadly I imagine a lot of people feel the same way too.

Not many, I would say price is the reason the vast majority of people get a season ticket.
If it's cheaper to not get one you watch season tickets drop massively. It would be naive of the club to think otherwise.

Everyone wants a full stadium but people won't want to be ripped off.
