' Russell Slade Now Demands from Matt Daehli '

Tue Nov 11, 2014 7:14 pm

My View
I am shocked with Slade saying these comments as I know Daehli shows 100% commitment and desire and is exactly what we need. There is a lot more to all this, as I say Hmmmmmmmmm? ? ?

They will then say in January once theyve got rid off him, they offered him to stay

Cardiff City boss Russell Slade tells Mats Daehli to fight for his place amid talk of exit

Tues Nov 11, 2014

By Steve Tucker

Slade has told Daehli he wants to see him show the right attitude when he returns to Cardiff City after the international break

Tuesday 11th Nov 2014

Cardiff City manager Russell Slade has told unsettled midfielder Mats Daehli to fight for his future in the Welsh capital.

The Norwegian teenager has spoken of his discontent at the club after falling out of favour since Slade took over from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The 19-year-old has not started a match since September 30 and was left out of the match-day squads for the Bluebirds last three Championship games against Leeds, Bolton and Birmingham.

Daehli has stated he could look to move on in January, but now manager Slade has told him to show the focus and resolve needed to push back into contention.

“Mats is a very talented young player no doubt about that,” said Slade.

“Of course he has a future here, to be honest for one reason or another we’ve not seen enough of him since we’ve been here to make a proper assessment of him.

“The first thing you want to see is the attitude and desire from the player. That’s important. The other factor has been his hip injury. It’s being aggravated by his gait, by the way the lad runs. It is something that definitely needs to be solved moving forward.”

Russell Slade has plenty to ponder this week

Daehli is away with Norway on international duty this week, with Slade expecting the midfielder to sit out tonight’s friendly against Estonia before playing in his country’s Euro 2015 qualifier in Azerbaijan on Sunday.

Meanwhile Slade confirmed Hereford youngster Bilal Yafai will join up for a trial with Cardiff soon. The 18-year-old attacking midfielder, who has featured four time for the Bulls this season, will train with the Bluebirds under-21s.

since when have you been taking the training sessions then
maybe just maybe matts is sulking and NOT showing much effort in training
wether that's due to his hip or just that now ole has gone he doesn't seem interested

Don't like the way matts is being singled out. It's not only slades fault, wol been fanning the fire, tuckers report about what matts said was evidently very inaccurate.. But slade should know better, hanging him out to dry like that. Thought one if his strengths was man management?

Not happy with the comments from Slade, Matts Daehli is a good young professional whose attitude is spot on, I know him personally and he is desperate to play and get this club promoted.

I don't like these comments from the manager and it looks like a set up before his inevitable sale in January, where it can be said he didn't have the right attitude, blah blah blah.

Yes funny Matt is being singled out???

so carl you prefer to support matts rather than slade
imo that's what is wrong with football today
the players have more power than the manager
imo if slade says he wants to see matts fighting for his place its obvious that matts has not been showing much to date :bluescarf:

Steve,

I prefer to hear the truth and I know for a fact that Matts Daehli's attitude is not a problem.

So on this one I believe there is something not right which questions his attitude.

he has potential and he's a good player, but he's got plenty to learn.

he's not as good as people seem to think otherwise he'd be starting every week and having blinders. i prefer noone to him on the left.

why when ever there is conflict on here the manager gets slated :bluescarf:
alledgedly
1 = slade wants a 30 year old that's not good enough so lets all slate slade ( hes actually 28 and puts himself about a bit in the middle of the park (isn't everyone calling for this type of player )
2= slade wants matts to fight for a place (naughty naughty mr slade ) you mustn't say that about one of our players
3=nil nil draw at team in bottom 3 not good enough but nil nil draws at stoke and Norwich under the fantastic malky were brilliant and both stoke and Norwich were down the bottom when we played them
totally fed up of the agendas on here
why don't people be honest its just trying to get at tan :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Re: ' Russell Slade Now Demands from Matt Daehli '

Russell Slade is going down hill rapidly. The comments are a lot of nonsense. Daehli walks into the Norway team, would walk into many Premiership/Championship teams and he is being told to fight for his place because he is being kept out by players like Joe Ralls. Nothing against Ralls but what a joke. Slade has lost the plot by isolating his better players.

Re: ' Russell Slade Now Demands from Matt Daehli '

Tue Nov 11, 2014 7:56 pm

he should be coming off the bench or in and around the match day 18.

ravel is better but there is the argument that mats should play as morrison will probably go back whereas mats is contracted here.

maybe he's just not the sort of player slade wants? he should be able to manage the team and pick the players he wants to, its not the fans managing the team!

It says in the article that he has an on going injury if this is the case , no wonder why he isn't getting the game time ,Carl has said 100% his attitude is good but how does he know this ? Is he at the training ground or has one of his echo buddies told him this

Correct - and I'm one of them.

Is Slade beginning to show his true colours already? Is he really a Tan puppet?

Or perhaps he's just showing his management limitations by being unable or unwilling to get the best out of potentially one of the most talented players we have had for years.

Daehli himself says he is fit and have been. Marshall said he is one of the hardest working and most focused players he have seen. Slade is making a fool of himself

Whats annoying me about Slade is everything is in the open. What goes on in training and behind the scenes should be kept there. I can only see this approach hes taking with the media affecting morale in the dressing room

There are two sides to every story, but this one stinks of a VT stitch up. It's all public now, & I don't think we will see MD ever play for us again,,,,but I really hope I'm wrong.

So you're saying Slade is lying saying Daehli has a hip injury? We will find out if Daehli plays for Norway tomorrow. Then we will see who's telling the truth. Anything said before Norway's game tomorrow is pure speculation.

He's not good enough. There's a reason Slade doesn't play him, and that's why. Would much rather see the other two on the bench.
