Cardiff City a broken Club

Sun Nov 09, 2014 1:40 pm

When we left Ninian Park the vast majority was very sad in leaving but we knew it was the right thing to do if we was to move forward. But over the coming seasons it was hard to except but still what we had to do was let the new stadium create its own history. We had to contend with the fact the club was determined to irradicate the atmosphere and the groups that liked to be together and they have succeeded. So the last thing we needed when we was coming to terms with a new home was to loose our colour then the badge. No Ninian Park no Blue and no crest we associate with Cardiff City.

Many left as they felt it wasn't the club they fell in love with. Many stayed in the hope we could change things back. And many excepted it without condition which has leaded to a permantly split fan base. The Club as a footballing team has gone down hill at an alarming rate since Malky was sacked.

Next season many more will leave including myself if we are still red. When I go to games I love my time with my mates, and when we go away as Carlos said in another post the day is only spoiled by going to the game. As a Club the only thing that remains is the name and that is under threat as we all know Tan wants it changed. Even loosing to the Jacks last season didn't hurt as to me they wasn't playing the real Cardiff City just a rip off version.
Cardiff City is a broken Club from top to bottom. Vincent Tan has ripped it to pieces and I doubt it will be fixed very quickly or even at all. :(

What a negative post why did you feel the need to share this it's been discussed to death on this board on a daily basis. :sleepy2:

Quite happy to be mid table this season. This will bring on the only protest Tan will listen to, season tickets sales.

Part of a supporting non top 6 clubs is taking pride in youngsters coming through and hoping to go on a run. I have always wanted to win, but have never expected it.
Tan got lucky and now thinks he is a genius, there is no stability at the club and a fan base that's lost its passion.

Tan talked about customers two season ago. Fans renew whatever the circumstance, customers shop elsewhere or modify their behavior.

Exactly.
So we've left Ninian Park .... Get over it.
I was virtually born & bred in the place but move on!!!

This post has been done to death! Look forward not back!

Re: Cardiff City a broken Club

Whenever we fail to win, there are so many negative posts about the state of affairs of our club.
Firstly, we are nowhere near the bottom of the league and secondly we've got a fantastic modern stadium compared to the old Ninian Park getting crowds in excess of 20,000 each league match. Okay, we are not setting the world alight so far this season, but we all need to pull together to support the club and I'm sure we will get the results we all wish for. Let's stop being so pessimistic. In all honesty, if you can't enjoy match-days at Cardiff City Stadium, then stay at home and watch a black and white film. :old:

'the club was determined to eradicate the atmosphere'

what the hell are you on about?

The Club itself killed its own atmosphere and is still intent on making our ground a library. Ive been to meetings and its no one else, not the authorities but the staff themselves at the top.

What exactly do you mean Annis? Have the club banned the fans from singing and cheering? Have the club banned standing in the Canton?
The atmosphere at Ninian was always great wasn't it.

Re: Cardiff City a broken Club

The atmosphere wasn't always great at ninian! But when it was good it was good! It can be returned, switching the family stand and the canton would increase it tenfold!

It's not rocking science this would increase atmosphere hugely I believe, get the banter going with the away fans but no chance of it happening.

Re: Cardiff City a broken Club

It won't happen because we had a terrible reputation as a place for visiting fans. The days of hemming in the away fans and surrounding them (Grange End and Lower Grandstand) have long gone.

Plenty on here complain when we get treated like s... away from home.

Spot on totally agree and its not negative post, its real. got told to sit down by our our stewards at the Leeds game after we scored a goal! All under orders from Tan ive been told, its the last home game ill ever be attending under this regime believe me. I don't just want us back to blue anymore, i want Tan out too just as much if not more, Broken Club it is without fan unity. Away games only for me. :bluescarf:

So football and Cardiff City is just a vehicle you use for your social life, going drinking with your mates and going on a day out. many of us still enjoy going down the City because we like football and realise that not everyone can win everytime!

Tan always stands if you notice. :bluescarf:
And it isn't a negative post it's just how a lot of City fans feel. More and more are leaving all the time. Some good mates. And yes it's the whole day experience for me the time I spend with my mates. The match, my Club, but it just isn't my club any more.

You seem to be going through the stage I went through Nukes mate. Ranting and hoping you can change the apathetic minds of a vast majority of "Cardiff City" fans that seem to have lost the fight. The best thing I've done is to realise that there is nothing I can do, I will continue to wear my Cardiff gear with the old badge proudly shown and wait Tan out. While he is in charge there is nothing we can do, we could protest to drive him out but not enough people are interested, too scared, too apathetic, too caught up with the opportunity of success.

I don't have the answers, I've tried for three years to come up with answers. Life is WAY too short to let this consume you mate, I've done it for three years and it's got me nowhere.

Nukes, fans like the sell out giving you abuse (who dares to have Bluebird in his name when he seems far from it) just confirm I made the right decison. The club just isn't worth it nowadays.

I can't believe you can think it acceptable.

Exactly, no proper fan would tell another fan to sod off or inform them if they don't like it then they should not bother. If these fans were around when we struggled to raise 2,000 for a home game then they would think differently.

Can't believe what we've become, but just don't want to give up on on something Ive adored and grown up with.

Can't wait to go out to Belgium this weekend and genuinely be proud and passionate whilst supporting my country.

The days of supporting the City being special and unique are sadly gone, I just clutch on to the hope and prey one day we get back there. I'd give anything to go back to watching the City back then, instead of giving anything to watch the City be desperate for commercialised top flight football.

Sad times.

Indeed sad times.

Some say we will return to blue. I hope they re right. The sad thing about it all is we have an owner who is rich enough to make this go on for a long time. There is a danger that this will wear out those of us who want a return to blue.

What a ridiculous comment? I've followed ccfc for 35 years. Ive been in exile since 89. Ive indoctrinated my older 2 boys into the faith and they've had to endure years of stick from premiership plastics. However the rebrand has destroyed the club. Last season should have been the best ever as a city fan but it was the worst. Seeing my team playing at home to Liverpool and Man utd in a red kit with that beer mat badge was the final straw. I will not set foot inside the ccs until tan reverses the rebrand. Cardiff City are the bluebirds and from now on the only games I'll attend are ones when we play in blue.
