Javi GUERRA - Poll

Fri Nov 07, 2014 9:56 am

From the very little time game time he has had he looked class particularly when he came on against Huddersfield.

It is strange how he has been ignored. Would you like to see Guerra given a chance?

From what I have seen in the league games he looks like the best striker at the club so for me I think he deserves a game.

A poll will have no influence with the club but it's good to see the fans opinion.

Looked quality when i've seen him (not much) has a much better all round game than any of our other strikers, should be given a chance IMHO. :ayatollah: :bluescarf: :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

Havent seen to much of him however from what I have seen, he looks a very intelligent footballer.

Would be nice to see him given a chance but I honestly can't see it happening, somethings going on behind the scenes that we're not aware of in my opinion. You can't score the amount of goals he did last season in la liga and then not feature in the championship.

Russell Slade this morning, a one liner, thank you Scott
What about Javi Guerra?
He is not in my immediate plans. He had a fantastic season in Spain, but has not shown that form in training or development matches so far.

More from Slade on Daehli...
He has a hip injury which causes a problem. It is causing a real tightness and has an effect on him. It’s not going away quickly.

Like all players he must be up for the fight. He has quick feet, can find pockets of space and just because he isn’t six foot tall doesn’t have to go against him. I don’t see why he can’t cope with the physicality.

It could be a possible that Mats may be sold or loaned out, but he could also be here for another two years. All options are possible.

Sounds like Javi Guerra will leave from what Slade says. Shame to see a player of that quality not even get a full game.

Totally agree. If Slade came with out with those words then he hasn't got a clue. You would expect a new manager to go in look at previous matches to see what players he has. Guerra has looked class each time he has come off the bench.

His vision, link up play, vision, running off the ball he has the lot. When he came on against Huddersfield he looked a totally different class. There is no doubt that he has the ability but Slade has probably been influenced in his decision baking process. Guerra is obviously not the only one to suffer. It is poor for a manager not to use all the quality resources at his disposal.

Scott Young has ruined him, the c**t is poison in the club and will be the downfall of us !!

Easy for us to sit back and say play him but even when Slade has given us a perfectly good reason we still seem to know better.

yep , loved Scott Young as a player, but I don't want him anywhere near the 1st team management he's out of his depth and makes things personal rather than what's best for the club

Very strong words. Scott Young has been an outstanding servant to our club. Just because he substituted two players in a league cup game, he gets called the above. Any player who gets substituted, or dropped, needs to win over his manager. That's Russell Slade, by the way, and it's his perogative.

Out of interest, how many development games have there been since Slade was made manager & how many has Guerra featured in?

Re: Javi GUERRA - Poll

Fri Nov 07, 2014 5:43 pm

I don't feel he's been given a chance yet and thought he's look very classy in the short cameos he's featured so far, bournemouth withstanding, although there were worse performances that night even. Disappointed to hear Russell's comments about Javi today, Scott Young does appear to have marked his card for him.

The thing is though, everyone wants to see Guerra play but if Slade plays him and we lose everyone will be moaning that we should've played Macheda or Le Fondre instead. Such a fickle fanbase.

100% agree! he became Scott Young & Gabbidon's scapegoat for their total inadequacies. He was very poor that night but was he to blame for the horrendous defending & powder puff midfield.
If Guerra has thrown the towel in which seems likely as he hasn't been seen since, I don't think it's acceptable but it's understandable.
Shit management and another classic Cardiff City cock up moment, you don't score that many goals in La Liga, look quality in a few brief cameos and then become Andrea Ferretti!!! ;)

Everyone wants to see Guerra play because it looks as if he is the best striker at the club.

I guess most players would be disappointed if they are being ignored. After making a classy impact against Huddersfield Guerra has been cast aside with just the odd minutes here and there.

I cannot believe that any new manager would not take time to see what players he has in his squad and for someone not to do that is neglect. Everything points to the fact that it looks like Slade has had his cards marked and hence he has not given everyone including Guerra an opportunity. Poor management.

i'd like to see him play, but only because he came here with a decent reputation and hasn't got a kick. maybe the manager knows something we don't?

if he has a shocker, the same people will completely forget this thread and said he never should have played. it looks like he's going in january anyway, if there are any takers.

I disagree, I think everyone wants to see Guerra play all of a sudden because we're not scoring in every game, and funnily enough we've just lost 3-0 to Bolton. But everyone will ignore the fact we've won our last 4 home games and scored 10 goals.

Slade has acknowledged Guerra's goal scoring record in Spain last season, but if players aren't making an effort on the training pitch they're not going to get anywhere near the first team, and that's clearly the case with Guerra. Why would you play someone who's not making the effort?

For now bench but yes.

Certainly above Turner

Agreed. Fans know best though! The ones that have seen him play for 45 mins and never see him train! And they will use scot young as a scape goat, something that I can see happening regularly this season.

It's not just because he substituted two players in a cup game. Scott Young picked a team with players out of position and then used Guerra as a scapegoat when it didn't work and PUBLICALLY BLAMED HIM. Even if Young was right, but he wasn't, to blame Guerra publically was very poor management and something for which he should be sacked!

Great post. The way you go to the press to slate a player(s) is disgraceful and poor management. By all means gave a word with someone but not make it public to deflect blame. He was also picking players out of position. People who do not rate Guerra should look at the highlights from previous games. Head and shoulders above players being currently used.

I prefer Macheda, Le Fondre and Jones personally. If Slade doesn't think Guerra's up for it then I doubt he's up for it.

I voted yes but my advise to everyone is forget ever seeing him play for us again.

Those remarks from Slade and Young are going to make it very difficult for him to break through. Personally if I was Guerra I would be trying to get the best out of a bad job and that would be preparing to get out.

Jones hasnt been available so what possible reason could he have for not having him on bench. It's stupid stubbornness.
