Tactics tonight.
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1469423 centre halfs passing the ball back and forth until Andorra have all their players back and all the space closed down.
Then... smash it forward - to a side with no target men. On a pitch where the first bounce takes the ball out of play
Then leave 3 centre halfs back marking no-one.
If we qualify it will be IN SPITE of Coleman instead of due to him. Can't complain about absences tonight.
I'd just be glad of the 3 points tonight and no major injuries. That pitch, with some of the tackles going in is a recipe for disaster.
Com on Wales !

It's very random, very strange.

Many fans Tim will blame Refs/Pitches/Weather etc, for me the blame lies with Coleman end off.

Let's hope for a better 2nd half.
Even DS Dean (Saunders) is questioning the tactics.

I can see what will happen we lose most of our 1st few games the FAW will back Coleman until we can't mathematically qualify then sack him , I would get rid now get Pulis in so it gives us a good chance of actually qualifying we will never qualify with Coleman in charge
Tue Sep 09, 2014 7:50 pm
Taylor is playing as a winger and it's clueless. Why not just play Ledley or J.Williams? Coleman is a tactical dinosaur. Even Toshack disposed of the easy teams

Massive fingers crossed Tim,We should of never even conceded a goal to this team or even struggle to them, never mind be drawing at half time. Even if we win 3-1/4-1 questions yet again will be asked of Colemans tactics?
Tue Sep 09, 2014 8:05 pm
I don't think you can bake coleman for the goal, Taylor yes.
But for the "tactics" yes coleman is to blame. If we have a formation then it's clearly wrong.
Tue Sep 09, 2014 8:06 pm
Need a goal so take off our only striker, thus isolating our only performer Bale. Great thinking Coleman
Tue Sep 09, 2014 8:08 pm
I BLAME THE WELSH FA MORE THAN COLEMAN FOR KEEPING HIM AS OUR MANAGER
Tue Sep 09, 2014 8:14 pm
3 CB's, Taylor on the wing, no striker on when you're searching for a goal.
You have Ramsey one of the best CM's in the Prem, Allen who is just behind him and one of the best players in the world. How do you not find a tactic that accomadates all three players? The man forgets his passport for an international fixture. The guy's a f*cking joke, his only competitive wins have been against the same team and Macedonia. We are so negative it's unbeliveable

Awful football by the players. I can't believe this but the quality in the final 1/3 is conference level on a wet day.
Talk about bottling it. This is going to take something special to save this game.

And that something special is...... Gareth Bale !
let's hope we can hold on now

Adding to this Cyprus beating Bosnia at Bosnia.
Just as I posted. You guys should listen to me more

Andorra 1 - Gareth Bale -2.
Nice to see so many CCFC flags though. Where did the 6 mins of ET come from?
Tue Sep 09, 2014 8:47 pm
We needed plenty of goals as much as the win, very very poor tonight.
Tue Sep 09, 2014 8:55 pm
Only winning by 1 could come to haunt us if it goes down to goal difference.

Totally agree with you Tim.

Think we'll be fine, looking at the circumstances tonight, that pitch was awful and you could see it was holding the players back, especially in the first 60 minutes before they stared to tire

Cyprus beating Bosnia tells me its going to be on points.

Why play Bale up front? That's like saying to the team you are all crap so pass to Bale! Don't get me wrong, we're not full of world class players but we're better than that! Can't stand Coleman and his awful tactics.
Tue Sep 09, 2014 10:09 pm
Coleman is clueless. 5 defenders against a side that hadnt won for 40 odd games!!! We ended up with tons of possession in our half, the lumping it to 2 stranded forwards. Johnny Williams and Ledley were on the bench who would have changed the game.
He is effing useless, fair play.
Bale is on a different planet......thank feck!
Tue Sep 09, 2014 10:40 pm
Coleman balls!!! He is a complete and utter joke, will not watch wales with him in char by e

Do these qualifiers go on goal difference, or is it head to head?

We were poor but if other teams have to play on that pitch they won't find it easy. There could be a few shocks.

But the pitch played a massive part. It's undeniable.
By the way it's 'of', not 'off'.

And what would Pulis bring to Wales? Long ball tactics, with the type of players we've got?
Thanks, but no thanks.

They scored via a penalty. They hardly carved us open, did they?

I thought the formation that was used accommodated Bale, Ramsey and Allen. Ramsey was where he should be, Allen playing at the base of midfield, and Bale up front (or thereabouts).
Ah, the passport jibe. That old chestnut.
