Walked past there yesterday, you couldn't get through the sloper road side of the carpark, they had all fences up, I wondered why there was so many police about. Literally full of riot vans and other types of official looking vehicles with lots of bods carrying stuff into the stadium. It all looked a bit serious

UK government is paying the bill. Flatholme has no facilities. You can just get on with your life?

Out of my tax........I would rather they give it to the NHS instead of massaging their ego's.And ask the people who have to travel into Cardiff for work or along the M4 if they can just get on with their lives.

Are they???? :? :?

Or are NATO funding as an Organisation???? :? :?

A coup for Cardiff and Newport in my opinion, as it shows Wales is now firmly on the political map and also how much the city has grown since my early days!

Newport (or The Celtic Manor Resort at least) can be rightfully proud of their involvement too!

All the towns and cities in the world AND THEY CHOOSE OURS! :P

Dim problem in my book

It's the protests, violence and terrorism threats that worry me. Always happens when these summits are on.
Mark my words, something bad will happen during this.
Hopefully not on our doorstep.
Recently jihadists from Cardiff.
I will keep away from the big city's, town centres for a bit.

It could all be a mock test covered up as a Nato meeting to command and quarantine an area
or to Inforce a new world order.

With potential outbreaks of ebola and potential new threats and political shake ups over the coming years

Don't really care where it is held but I think you'll find it's being held in a rather large hotel on the outskirts of your City with functions linked to the NATO taking place in Cardiff.

Thank you. At least someone KNOWS what is actually happening!

The major financial burden (i.e. security) is taken on by NATO itself; albeit funded from its member states at varying levels

The other stuff IS being paid for by UK Governments (inc. Wales Assembly) but estimates are that they will reap the rewards long-term, as this Conference will put Wales firmly on the map

You can all moan...until, of course, you or a family member are lucky enough to get one of the jobs that will surely 'spin-off' fom such gatherings! ;)

Don't know if they know this but there is this thing called the interweb and you can talk to other people face to face, You do need over 2mb line speed so not sure if that's an option for them, There are even programs to show all the people on screen at the same time, It's like they are in the room with you if you have a big enough TV, Doubt they will have though. Saying that it's probably easier to spend Millions of pounds to fly 1000's of people around the world (Doesn't matter the Celtic Manor has a golf course) then erect Massive steel fences around every where we go, Oh and while we are here can we close that little road outside, I'm sure the locals wont mind.

I totally agree, with everything that's already happened this year, I'm very worried something bad will happen. Did you hear what happened during the Nuclear Summit meeting at the Hague last March, a couple of weeks after the disappearance of MH370? http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-03-2 ... boeing-777

Obviously, I will be praying there are no incidents!

the prob with video chat etc its prone to security breaches somthing called TEMPEST for example if u left your phone on or off the security services or FIS can gather data and listen in hence why they will have sound proof walls so no signal will intervene during there meetings. also expect the netowrks to slow down ;)

All this money being paid for corrupt warmongering politicians from around the world when it could be spent on either our armed forces or hospitals. They can all talk via video link and it would be job done.

There's nothing like a face to face meeting and looking someone in the eye on important issues but you make a good point, with the technology of today you could have a video conference,no problem.
Thought I'd give you a bit of support, you've taken a battering the last couple of days

Don't no much about this NATO crap, but I always thought they had a permanent location where they have all there meetings. Would make sense anyway to have a permenant base, they wouldn't have to fuk around so much arranging security, transport and hotels. Or hold their meetings on an air force base like brize Norton or St athans where security is already in place, lay on a few bunk beds in the dorm or whatever
