Surprising that they are ready to spend this kind of money on a CB where we seem well covered already. Is Ole seeing Connolly first and foremost as a RB?

He could very well be. Although Connolly himself has made no secret of the fact that he prefers to play centre-back. I don't think that Connolly has the pace to play right-back.

This new guy and Morrison plus connolly and Turner as back up + Cala.
Hudson can then go....

You can have as many players as you want ' if they are not good enough your in trouble..we are desperate for a quick central defender to go with Morrison..Hudson and cala could both be sold then as they clearly have no pace..

Deals that stall this long tend to go nowhere. Hope Ole has other targets.

Agree, I would be really surprised If we land this deal given all the time gone. Think Hudson will go If we land Mané.

Bordeaux signed Tiago Ilori (CB from Liverpool) just a week ago. That could be the explanation for the holdup.

would be a great great signing and one that I feel we desperately need, but of course yet again you let the fee blinker you :laughing5:

Agree, in our promotion yr we spent near 10 mil in total.. We've hardly spent a thing so far. Plus the parachute payments we receive and the sale of players why shouldn't we spend 4mil if its for the right option...

Always a strange one how players are valued .

What do you think the fee should be and based on what ?

Certainly hope Ole is a better judge with this one, as MK Dons made Micheal Keane look a complete donkey last night

Well, I trust they have watched any new signing more than once, as you cannot really conclude on a player from one single performance.. ;)

You do realise that we haven't signed Keane, right?! :?

Only at Cardiff would a fan have a pop for NOT signing a player that looked awful subsequently. Surely this means he is a good judge?

Yet again?I view Ole as a shrewd manager in the transfer market and I'm a massive fan of him. I just don't think we should be spending that much on a CB. If we're going to spend that much, it should be on an attacking player. Not to mention we will lose him in Jan for the African Cup of Nations?

Ole can see talent in attacking players and they'll trip over themselves to sign, he has to pay more for defenders to guarantee the quality that he isn't used to seeing himself because he wasn't a defender. That and Sane is a rare type of playmaker defender that could allow us to play KG and Adeyemi together and still be able to pass a ball to the forwards. Not to mention he's also quick, lets hope he can defend, it does seem that we're more than capable in this division so i'll take the risk.

We don't need Dikgacoi and adeyemi together. Just Dikgacoi.

Apparently Sané can play DM as well. Could be useful.

I'm not convinced that Hudson is the player to make way for any new player.. Big mistake by Ole if this is true. Why make Hudson captain?
I think Cala and Turner will go before Hudson IMO.
