Centre back departs
Defender Sean Morrison has today joined Cardiff City.
The centre back signed papers with the Bluebirds this morning, and has agreed a four-year contract in south Wales. Both clubs have agreed that the fee involved will remain undisclosed.
We would like to wish Sean the very best for his future and thank him for his efforts at Madejski Stadium.
Morrison joined from Swindon Town in January 2011, and played 43(+2) games in a Reading shirt, scoring five times.

Please people remember this. The £4m thing started on a Reading forum which was never backed up. The Reading paper lifted this guesswork quote and went with it this morning, much like WOL does with this forum. I'll bet the real fee is a lot lot less.

I bloody hope so!
Not convinced he's any better than we already have - hope he proves me wrong though.

Mixed review on reading forum, sounds a bit like Ben Turner to me. Judge him on how he performs though.
I wonder if he will be thrown straight in. We have Hudson, Connolly and Cala available.

Certainly, happy to share with you the following, taken from the Reading forum:
http://hobnob.royals.org/forum/viewtopi ... 52b5707d65 Can I take the words of those that have seen him play on a regular basis i.e the Reading faithful? - or does their opinion not count for anything because they've never played the game professionally?
Now, if one or two said he wasn't that good then I'd let it go, however, from this thread which was posted at the beginning of this month BEFORE any hint of Morrison moving to us surfaced.. I tend to think there might be some substance when so many were of the same opinion.

My Reading mate says we paid too much for him but also says he has great potential ,he is still young and we should judge him ourselves not listen to others the professionals seem to rate him though

I reckon we paid no more than £1.5 million

Exactly what Leytonstone says. I doubt we have paid more than that up front. We might even have paid a little less.
With this transfer for once it doesn't suit CCFC that the fee is undisclosed as this 'Get Reading' blogsite has just created a fictional number taken from a message board. The same site claims we signed ALF for
DOUBLE the fee that we actually paid.
Please absorb this infomation people otherwise people will get on Morrison's back as soon as he has an average game...

Just had a quick scroll of the Reading mb, and mostly they think it's a god deal for them so long as the money is used to buy new players. Some disparaging remarks about Morrison's abilities; probably just bitter that they are now a feeder club for City

Take no notice of their MB. Look at ours when players leave. You would think we have never sold any decent players ever. Players leave and the phrases lazy, missing, glad to see the back of him, good riddance, waste of money, too fat, too slow etc always appear.

The thing is though, they were saying this before he was even linked with a move away. That's pretty worrying tbh.

Watched this CB play on loan for Hudds when lived there, got them promoted via play offs V Sheffield Utd. Hudds wanted to keep him but he went back to Reading for Premier football. My opinion, on a par with Caulker only half the price if you can believe the figures banded about. Good signing Ole. Cala , Morrison I don't think there will be a better pairing in the Championship this season

This is without doubt the best post, plenty of substance to back it up. Well done and I agree with you 100%
