Supporters club bus DISGRACE

Sat Aug 09, 2014 8:10 pm

Absolute disgrace.

Used an illegal driver, due to the poor planning of the journey. The driver, who was in a foul mood all day, had gone over his maximum limit of hours due to the delays on the way up to Blackburn along the M6.

Furthermore and even more shocking is that at a service station, of which I still have no idea the name, near Tewekesbury the bus pulled over to allow a break for the travelling supporters, who had been stuck in this metal box for the majority of the day. The illegal driver allowed for a 20 minute break. 22 minutes later I (17) and 6 other passengers under 17 return to where the bus was parked, only to see the double-decker WATTS Coach pull off the slip road down the motorway.

Friends of the other boys had tried to stop the driver, however they allegedly heard organiser Vince Alm say "Leave them." I hope this is not true, however it doesn't look like he has done a lot to help out 7 U17s who thought they were about to be stranded in England. Not only had we been left somewhere unknown, but all of us had left possessions on the coach, including wallets, phones, bags.

I and a other boys will be making complaints to both the supporters club and Watts coaches. I'm furious personally, as it was my first time on the supporters bus. It will now be my last.

Wheels is wheels. 20 minute stop not 22. Plus if had gone into services surely would have had their wallets?

The supporters club don't use Watts Coaches, they use NAT buses.

If NAT hasn't got enough buses they they will hire in from another company like watts, it's a common thing to do

These are very strong allegations which I find difficult to believe how did you all eventually get home from England? I am sure there is a rational explanation for this .

Corky the rational explanation is that they were late for wheels.

I effing hate selfish twats who keep everyone else waiting.

Lesson learnt hopefully.

Firstly and foremost, "BUS WANKERS"

Secondly, was it a two manned drive or single.. If single then the organisers should've realised from the start that there wouldn't be enough drive time for a Tacho'd driver under EU Rule.

Thirdly if it was twinned then the total drive time is 21 hrs shared.
Not to exceed 4-1/2 hrs drive per driver trip.

I've been on plenty if trips where people overstay the services. 20 mins is 20 mins not 22 :)

Are you posting this now from the hard shoulder or have you made it to the safety of the nearest Burger King? :)

Why do you need 22 mins? We would have had a piss and robbed the place in 10 mins on the old rams buses

When I was 17 I use to go to away games in 2nd hand well worn tansit fans. We considered it lucky if we managed to get back home that weekend. many times the poor vans broke down leaving in the middle of nowhere.

Today these young ones want everything on a place, luxury air conditioned travel, 5 star service stations and they whinge about missing the time slot. These youngsters of today are turning out to be a right bunch of poofs.

Always travel on the CCSC bus with my daughter and it does my head in on these trips with the metro sexual youth seem incapable of listening to simple instructions like :-

Back at 21:00, but in this case it would have been far later
Don't bring burgers or fries onto the bus
Sneaking beer onto the bus (there are many buses that turn blind eyes)

Re: Supporters club bus DISGRACE

I guess apart from you few 17 year olds, everyone else managed to understand the drivers instructions, and were back on the bus on time. Maybe the rest of the passengers showed a bit of respect for their fellow supporters, and didn't expect them to hang around until a small group decided to it was time to go. Got no sympathy at all for you.

Re: Supporters club bus DISGRACE

I run my own transport business. As a rule of thumb, the maximum daily mileage (on a clear run) for 1 driver on tacho is 200 miles each way.
I and any transport person would tell you that Cardiff to Blackburn is not feasible with one driver on tacho, and the bus company would tell you that. Add to that fact that it is a Friday afternoon, north on the M6 (worst motorway on Fridays for congestion), the driver was never going to be within his hours. Someone needs to liase with coach company for further away days, because if he had been stopped by vosa, you would have all been stranded off the bus !

So did the coach turn back and how did you get back?

Something strange going on here.
He hasn't even come back on here to explain .......... Unless he's still stuck somewhere with his thumb out!

no sympathy. if you were on the coach within the timescale like the rest there wouldn't have been a problem

Totally agree, the buses were stuck in traffic all day getting to Blackburn, with some not arriving until after kick off!

So why should the buses wait for an inconsiderate handful of people, who clearly appear not to be bothered about wanting to get to the match?

The rest of the supporters managed to make it back to the bus on time and I'll bet he and his friends won't be late next time!

Re: Supporters club bus DISGRACE

:laughing5: no sympathy at all, you have no right to hold up other fans who listen to the driver's instructions

Re: Supporters club bus DISGRACE

Sun Aug 10, 2014 12:19 pm

I agree we should have been back on the bus by 2mins before. The bus only had one driver. We waited for another City fans coach to give us a lift as far as they could. I'm just angry to think that an organiser who should encourage people going to away games, has told the driver to drive off when he's clearly seen us.

I had no problems with the bus getting to Blackburn in the heavy traffic that included stops, we got left behind on the way back. Read carefully next time.

either on way to game or back home no sympathy. You wont be late again

Can't see why the bus only having only one driver has anything to do with it and how come you've suddenly decided that Vince did tell the driver to leave you and your friends behind, when you only allegedly heard that Vince had said to leave you behind?

Surely you must know whether you booked with the official CC Supporter's Club (Vince Alm), or another travel group, as the official Supporter's club don't use Watts coaches?

Might not have seen you.

It's quite clear everyone thinks you are in the wrong for being late. Are you regularly two minutes late for work? Appointments etc? This is a bloody good life lesson for you meladdo. You should be thankful.
