You might make a better point about Bolivia if you did some homework and didn't mix up actions of the post-war right wing government, and the military/police abuses and crimes between the 1964 coup and the 1982 election. Clearly these have nothing to do with the Bolivian government or the vast majority of their people. Bolivia is a multi-ethnic democracy - not a haven for Nazis.

If you want to point to heavy-handed policing, delays in the courts or the discussion about reducing the minimum working age from 14 (and there are many opinions in Bolivia about this proposal - some favour it to give youngsters more protection, although Human Rights Watch and most external observers are 100% opposed), most people would accept that.

There are many things to criticise about Bolivia (as there are with all states). However, Bolivia hasn't illegally occupied the territory of its neighbours, flouted UN resolutions with impunity, or murdered over 1000 civilians in its own 'open air prison' in a 3 week killing spree. That may be why many people will think it has more moral authority than Israel.

Let's just get this straight. I am not a racist, I am not an anti-semite. I have been active in anti-racist and anti-fascist organisations and campaigns from the start of the Anti Nazi League in the mid/late 1970s - including defending Jewish people who were the victims of NF racism (physical violence and grafitti) in London and Yorkshire. I work with and have as very close friends a large number of Jewish people as well as a good number of Palestinians. Most of them are not religious Jews and are active anti-Zionists (which I assume in your language makes them racist, anti-semites and scum?).

I have never in any posts on this board or on CCMB or anywhere else attacked Jews - why would I do that? You claimed I have but that is just a plain lie - just look at the posts. I have a view about the politics of the Israeli government and its leading party, and a view about how the state of Israel was created and expanded. I am very clear that Palestinian Arabs have been the victims of ethnic cleansing, apartheid policies of the Israeli government, and all too often used as pawns by the Arab league and its successors. In the current crisis/tragedy in Gaza (not just the last 3 weeks) if taking sides means anything, I am on the side of the Palestinian civilians just trying to survive.

I am not a supporter or defender of Hamas. They are a small anti-semitic organisation that is slowly moving away from some of its most extreme positions, but it grows in support every time Israel kills civilians and undermines Fatah and the Palestinian Authority as a route to improving the lives on the West Bank and Gaza. I certainly to not accept the Israeli script about everything that has happened in Gaza or the West Bank in the last month, last year or last 25 years being the 'fault' of Hamas. I agree with the piece in the Huffington Post. If you don't want to read it or engage with what it says - then fine. You haven't done anything except parrot the Israeli government line, and you seem very happy to carry on with that.

You refuse to deal with the comments that I described as clearly racist - just agreed with them and then called me a racist for refusing tom accept the characature. In the current crisis/tragedy in Gaza (not just the last 3 weeks) if taking sides means anything, I am on the side of the Palestinian civilians just trying to survive.

I am not a supporter or defender of Hamas. They are a small anti-semitic organisation that is slowly moving away from some of its most extreme positions, but it grows in support every time Israel kills civilians and undermines Fatah and the Palestinian Authority as a route to improving the lives on the West Bank and Gaza. I certainly to not accept the Israeli script about everything that has happened in Gaza or the West Bank in the last month, last year or last 25 years being the 'fault' of Hamas. I agree with the piece in the Huffington Post. If you don't want to read it or engage with what it says - then fine. You haven't done anything except parrot the Israeli government line, and you seem very happy to carry on with that.

You refuse to deal with the comments that I described as clearly racist - just agreed with them and then called me a racist for refusing tom accept the characature. You constantly hid behind the actions of Hamas (as if the military wing of Hamas was a proxy for all Arabs - a bit like calling all Italians violent criminals and then justifying your view by constantly hiding behind the actions of the Mafia) - and then shamelessly accused me of hiding behind Hamas! Couldn't make it up! Post after post of that crap. You've done it again above. I have no problem with you sneering at the actions of the Bolivian government (North Korea.... come on!) or at a piece in the Huffington Post - but you then introduce something called WeHateJews.Com (which I have never heard of and have no interest in looking at), and then claim I am quoting from it !!! Are you proud of yourself?

However, when you start accusing me (and others) of being anti-semitic or racist for not agreeing with your view of the world (who knows if that is - still - the majority view?) then it goes beyond cheap insults - it trivialises the words. I know it is a cowardly tactic to intimidate and try to suppress criticism of Israel, but the effect is that real anti-semitic violence and terror - either from the far right or by radicalised Muslim youths - isn't recognised for what it is when you debase the words as you do. And as a final comment, there are many people out here in the wider world with more than 2 brain cells (congratulations by the way) who are pretty well informed, well read, discuss serious issues and know that the Bolivian President is from Indian peasant origins, in his mid 50s, is usually regarded as a socialist, and wasn't around to welcome escaping Nazis into his country in 1945. It was a parody of the earlier post FFS!

israel is a great country simon.ok they have made mistakes regarding the palastinians at times but they have the right to defend themselves and disable hamas military.hamas give christian palastinians a hard time and shot fatah members and drove the main members from gaza.if they can do this to their own god help anyone else.in ww2 we evacuated our kids to the countryside.hamas put theirs in front of rocket launchers that have fired at isarel.they know whats going to happen.a sick bi yearly p/r stunt.they bit off more than they can chew this time.im all for a palastinian state but these loons should be no where near the top table.i hope israel wreck every hamas weapon and tunnel.then sit down and discuss a proper peace.there may be a need for cival war between palastinians first thought to rid the gaza of hamas.there should have been elections in gaza as paret of the unity govs plans.funny enough hamas havnt had them yet

i agree,,,,,,,the foundation here HAS to be palestinians recognising Israels right to exist...without that Israel are forced into maintaining an out of proportion spend on defence..........who wouldnt.??????....if anyone knows that their neighbours main goal is to wipe you off the map you have to make sure that can not happen..
you dont have to be well read or be in mensa to figure this out,its human nature....
