HUGE INVESTMENT FOR STADIUM RENAMING

Mon Jul 28, 2014 11:14 am

Only just been told that Nottingham Forest are having up to £1billion investment from the Kuwaiti government to rename their stadium to the Kuwaiti City Ground or KCG.

It will probably include shirt sponsorship too.

It will mean Stuart Pearce will have pretty much a bottomless pit to buy players, it could have a negative effect on our season if they get this deal done very soon.

Just with a Forest fan and your right Pearce has been told he can have who ever he wants.

Is that a billion imperial or american. Both vastly different numbers and if its imperial then Stuart Pearce could have the biggest budget in the history of the game.

He wouldn't have risked his status with forest fans if he didn't have some kinda transfer kitty guarantee beforehand.

Having Funds and using them wisely does not necessarily come hand in hand..
The pressure that will be added to him as manager will be intense.

Should be an interesting few months ahead.

So Nottingham's team will be playing at the Kuwait City ground.

Can you imagine some of the posters here if the CCS was renamed to the Kuala Lumpur City Stadium ?!

Annis in my opinion it will the ecosway stadium or some other company owned by Tan, maybe the Berjaya, and will write off some his loans for shares to buy the naming of the stadium.

If £1 billion is correct it makes a mockery of uefa financial fair play rules.

Would be interesting if the CCS naming right deal was compared to Forests and see how much tan short changes the club this time around

Truth be told I don't like the name CCS.
Always liked the idea when it was announced as Parc Dewi Sant

I bet you, even for a billion quid some people here would still have a go at him for 'selling our soul' or such like.

Wonder if they are now going to be called Kuwait Football club or KFC :sleepy2: :o ;) ;) :ayatollah:

Re: HUGE INVESTMENT FOR STADIUM RENAMING

We sell our soul for 1 season in the prem and a stadium expansion, Forest sell a quarter of their soul for 1bn over ten years, our board should be ashamed of themselves for being such shit negotiators

Re: HUGE INVESTMENT FOR STADIUM RENAMING

Mon Jul 28, 2014 11:56 am

But he is a shit manager. Will buy crap players and play rubbish football. I'm not worried by a Pearce led Forest even with cash.

THey will get relegated with Pearce in charge, what has he ever done in managment, got sacked from the under 21 squad because of poor results, I will be very suprised if he makes it as a manager

Lot of money but remember this is Stuart Pearce we are talking about. probably one of the worst managers around.
Watch Englands U21's and he is tactically incompetent.

This story was all over the Forest boards and NewsNow yesterday - but I can't see a sponsorship figure anywhere.

Where does £1bn come from? That is off the scale for any stadium naming rights deal - EVER. It just sounds wrong.

The Premier League sponsorship deals (as of a year ago) were headed by Man City at just over £18m per year.

He can want lots of Players but he'll only get Players that are willing to play in the Championship. :ayatollah:

Adam, forget all the rebrand stuff for a moment dnd your bitter anti-Bluebird rhetoric, but where exactly has Tan "short-changed" Cardiff City Football Club?? :?

The shirt sponsorship table is proof of that

Well said. If Pearce was a good manager he'd be in charge of a big club.

Hope he messes up.

Is it really?? :? :o

You allude to the fact that Tan may have chosen to off-set monies paid into the club elsewhere via this sponsorship, so can't see where that means he has "short-changed" the club as it still came in. But I guess the negatives like yourself will cling to whatever they can though, eh?? ;)

Vincent Tan has not short-changed the football club in any way; rather he has invested large sums of money (no matter how others portray it) to ensure relative success at the club

Seems to me that now the truth is starting to 'out', Vincent Tan may not be the Ogre that some have portrayed him

Driven and self-promoting, maybe...but to date (Rebrand apart) it appears that he hasn't got an awful lot of things too wrong and that (sadly) includes the sacking of the previous manager for reasons still yet to be fully disclosed ;)
