I would play a sort of 3-4-3

Marshall

Brayford - Cala - Turner

Noone - Dikgacoi - Daehli - Burgstaller

Mutch

Guerra - Macheda

Fabio - would be the main sub to turn into a 4-4-2 when we have a two goal lead :ole:

Harris can't step Into this squad yet...

I agree with Tucker's 11, with a rotational striker dependant on form

Re: ' As a City fan you pick your Cardiff City XI '

Fri Jul 11, 2014 6:06 pm

Marshall

Fabio - Cala - Turner - John
Dikgacoi
Mutch - Whittingham
Noone - Guerra - Dhaeli

4-3-3 and 4-5-1

Well done Blakey, definitely put a player whose been injured since Jan in the squad and not even training with the first team in there over an experienced Austrian winger

And that is why Nathan Blake is not a manager.

Whittingham and Mutch together in midfield would be powder puff. Need a ball winner.

I would use a ball winner during the tough winter months in poor conditions and pitches when the games get more scrappy, but during the first couple of summer months, we have enough footballing ability and energy to outplay the opposition. Campbell can drift to the wing with Daehli tucking inside to make a 3 man centre midfield if we are under the cosh a little anyway.

Tonteg on a mad one again

I can see the team changing depending on who we play. Dikgacoi I think will be a key starter though and then others fit around him, daehli being a key player.

Stupid. As if Whitts could play wide in that formation.

If last season is anything to go by there won't be a 'Cardiff City 11!'.
Ole will change the team on a regular basis!

4 foot 1 Daehli tucking in the middle? That will improve the strength in midfield.

No matter the weather you need someone in midfield who can win the ball.

You don't really need strength during the early summer months. If you're superior footballers, you just need pace, energy and work rate. The Spanish in their prime have shown that for years (note I said in their prime, not this world cup).

Re: ' As a City fan you pick your Cardiff City XI '

Marshall

Brayford - Cala - Turner

Noone - Dikgacoi - Daehli - Burgstaller

Mutch

Guerra - Le Fondre

We need to break away from the 1 up front, we have enough quality up front to play 2 strickers, maybe a place for Whitts as Burgstaller is still a bit of an unknown. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Our players are not Spains. Every successful team at the World Cup has a defensive midfielder of some sort.

Still hard to say without seeing the new players and who is going to be staying and leaving.

Trying to be realistic, I'll go with:

------------------------------Marshall------------------------------
Brayford------------Cala-------------Turner--------------Fabio
-----------------------------Dikagacoi-----------------------------
-------------------Mutch----------------Whitts-------------------
---Noone------------------------------------------------Daehli---
----------------------------Guerra---------------------------------

Seeing as we've brought in 3 strikers on top of what we already have Im not sure if Ole will be looking to go with two up top and sacrifice a central midfielder or even three up top and sacrifice our wide men. Not an easy job but it's nice to have options. :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

Spain have Busquets holding?

I'd go 3-5-2

........Marshall..........

...Turner....fonte....cala........

Brayford......Dikgacoi.......Fabio..

.......daehli.........whitts........

........Guerra......macheda.........

Mutch and burgstaller can replace daehli or whitts and if u wanted to go 4-4-2 could take a cb off bring on a winger and drop the wing backs to full backs easily done and would give us a strong side going forward
