Would you ever stop supporting the City?

Sun Jun 29, 2014 7:30 pm

Was talking with family members and was discussing would we ever stop attending CCFC games. I must be honest the last 2 seasons have been the worse couple of seasons supporting the City despite seeing us in the Prem.

A few times I have thought of walking away but have always changed my mind as that is what tan wants, pro blues to walk away. I think if a change of name or an all red stadium came then I would leave

I'm in the same boat as you mate. Last 2 years have been the toughest years since Ive started following the City and several times I have been on the brink of walking away, but if he changed our name it would be time to pack it in. :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

I haven't renewed this year CilfynyddBlue. Been going 21 years and season ticket last 15. Time to make a stance. Hoping to do quite a few aways instead. It's going to be hard, really hard. But enough is enough. It's time to do what we should have all done years ago. :bluescarf:

I threaten never to renew my season ticket at least 10 times a year. But still end up with one. Now over 35 years and counting.

In the past reasons have been cost or another awful season usually in the 3rd or 4th divisions

In the last two years though the rebrand has pushed me closer and not because of the obvious colour change reason but the arguments that ensue about it amongst fans.

I have actually not yet renewed this season.

I had to move from the Family Stand due to the age of my daughter and never got around to picking new seats. This apathy came about as a few around me were just at the game to have sarcastic digs at each other over their rebrand stance. It was monotonous and just made watching football unbearable. A few just turned up to support the visiting team, very demoralising.

So as of this moment I have stopped watching Cardiff City due to irritating fans around me. However I am awaiting the opening up of ST sales again. :D

Never beat those 3rd and 4th division years :ayatollah: would love to go back in time and stand on the Grange/Bob one last time for one of those games. :bluescarf:

Name change and that would be it, although this season I'd my last as a season ticket holder.

The only thing that has put me off following the city is not the club itself but this forum and other fans of a similar ilk

I think whatever happens here, this is the local football club as to where I was born and grew up.

in life People die all the time but they don't stop supporting the successors football is the same if the club dies (admin/Re-brand)
there is a re-birth of a new team representing this part of the world.
It's shit but What can you do that's life

Many fans who accepted the Red, told me to move on and accept it, I now dont speak to many of them nowadays as I should never of been told what to do and my beliefs should of been respected, funny though, 99% of them are now back BLUE. :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

The last two seasons have been my worst in 43 seasons, My feelings are getting less for them and its hurting more and more, I even thought of walking away.

But I wont let Tan beat me or our True Identity and I feel like many other staunch Blue City fans, we are getting stronger and without doubt the BLUE has won of the pitch, now we have to step up the battle for our True Identity this season, all once again done peacefully and respectfully :thumbright: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

I've been told many times that I should either accept it or just stop going etc...

Well I don't agree with that at all. The definition of a "loyal" fan is someone who would not just go in the good times, but would continue when things weren't looking so good too.

At the moment, I'm not finding the optimism that some do. I think tan is the wrong man for this club, but I'm loyal and will always support MY club.

It's still MY club at the moment, though I fear that any more changes will change that.

I fully respect those who cannot go anymore and feel that boycotting is the best way for their own protest, personally, I see going along and giving the fight for blue a "voice" is far more effective.

Only way a "boycott" would ever bring any attention would be if it was a MASS boycott. Which I would happily support. :bluescarf:

Ah but see Barry, it is not YOUR club. There's plenty who do not hold your opinion.

Not been down since the Malaysian ripped the club apart. Do I miss it? Hell yeah, do I have more money and other priorities now, Hell yeah.

I'll be back when tan is gone but it'll never be the same

I have been supporting the city since 1956 and the problems we have now are nothing compared to the Graham Williams,Alan Durban,Kenny Hibbitt years
Be thankful that we don't have to sell our best players to survive
We can compete with most clubs to sign players
I've been through some really terrible years supporting my club
I still have a season ticket and still get a great buzz supporting them
I do miss the European matches though they used to be my annual holidays
The only time I will stop supporting them is when I'm dead

I've questioned myself many times. But it's my mates and the craic that I still go. And to be honest I do feel that the ones that have left (and I respect there decision) don't get to Tan as much as we do making ourselves heard at the stadiums around the country. Some have done this since the beginning of the re brand and they know who they are

Nothing we do will change Tan's stance while he is here but I believe a mass boycott would be the most effective way of concentrating Tan's next move.

People may say he already has the cash from ST's but that is not the point. The media would have a field day if there were only a few thousand in the ground and Tan may not like the bad publicity.
