Seems an appropriate time to do this as this is the last of the 11pm kick offs. For me it was USA's late winner against Ghana, great game, great celebration. Very touching.

Probably Chile dominating Spain.

I enjoyed seeing Ghana's second against Germany, to take the lead at the time.
The celebration was great, as was the joy on their faces. Doing it for the love of the game and their country.. brilliant.

Another cracking game but the attitude you described ultimately led to their downfall I think. A more professional outfit would have closed the game off or at least taken some of the chances they had to put the game to bed at 2-1 and then done the celebrating after.
I like Ghana though and agree they do play like they love it, hope to see them go through.

Realising, at some point during the second half, that the Netherlands were going to give Spain a damn good hiding. Have never been a fan of Spanish football, especially the ever too good to be true Barcelona. Have hated tiki taka all along. Give me traditional, British football any day. Or cattenaccio, for that matter.
Think I'll give the European Super Cup, or whatever it's called, a miss.

Oh to be Dutch that night. That RVP header was special, that game really brought the tournament alive in my opinion after a controversial start.
If Brazil get knocked out it will be a fantastic moment as it's going to take something special with all the help the refs are giving them.
Sun Jun 22, 2014 10:21 pm
Did anyone see the pic on Twitter from RVP's grandfather?
Kinda did a planking but called it VanPersieing ?
Brilliant.
Old fella and all

Very true. The first match was outrageous, Brazil to win at all costs. Unless Brazil win it, there could be some serious unrest before the end of the tournament.
The Dutch reminded me of their great sides of the early 70s. I'd love to see them win it, but its a tall order in South America

I think if Brazil get knocked out it will be one of the greatest games of football we will ever see. The tension in the crowd and I imagine Brazil pushing hard for an equalizer would be brilliant. FIFA, the Government, the police all need Brazil to win or it could go off big time around the country.
Lets hope! One thing for sure the winner of this tournament will most definitely be the best team in the tournament, some of the football has been breathtaking.

Costa Rica going through. Didn't think they stood a chance but they tore Uruguay to pieces in that 2nd half and really gave Italy a good match and deserved winners. Don't think they'll go further than the 2nd round but what an achievement.
As you've said, Brooks' goal was great. His celebration was just pure emotion.
Mon Jun 23, 2014 7:50 am
As a single moment for me it has to be Suarezs second against England. From the emotion he showed its obvious he believed his injury would rob him of this world cup. And rob us fans from having one of the world's best playing in it. Love him or hate him Suarezs emotion and desire is a joy to behold
As a story though it has to be Costa Rica. First time there has ever been 3 previous winners in a group. Everyone called it the group of death between Italy, England and Uruguay. Yet Lil Costa Rica are gonna win it.
Mon Jun 23, 2014 8:34 am
Costa Rica breezing through their group with 5 players on the pitch in both matches who've played in the Norwegian league within the past couple years.
As for standout positive moment, had to be USA's second goal yesterday against Portugal.
USA have taken over my support after Bosnia got eliminated by the referees.

Van Persie header for me by far. Proper WOW moment.

Brazil are being slated, but it was the ref that gave the poor decisions........and tbh, they are at home in the opening game......the pressure on the ref must have been huge, we have experienced it lots this year even at home....Rooney and Gerard,,,goals chalked off for nxt to nothing etc...........if decisions going their way big time becomes a trait of the tournament fair enough.......wasnt even the worse ref in the opening 2 games..the very nxt match, Mexico had 2 perfectly good goals chalked off.............
Mon Jun 23, 2014 2:41 pm
Spain getting torn apart by the Dutch. Nobody was expecting that.
Can't get enough of the South American teams singing their accents either
Mon Jun 23, 2014 2:51 pm
brilliant tournament so far...............but the highlight for me is watching a Cardiff City player in it { all be it he wont be here long }...its a first in my lifetime.

Gary linekers face when Costa rica beat Italy, was in pieces with laughter! Especially as the t#@t was wearing an Italian jersey!! Priceless moment for me.on the pitch? Though I hate manure,Van persies header was pure class!

I was in a very busy pub in town watching that game, never seen a reaction to a goal like it. Standing ovation from the punters.

Ghana players before the USA game was rather amusing, really look like their proud to be at the WC more than any other country.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27879950Would have to say though Colombia when Armero scored, the celebration was quality.

Barton on Question Time was more entertaining than this yuppie corporate sham. The world cup is everything that is wrong with football. They should cancel it in the future. Load of crap.
