Danny Murphy

Class commentator. Really informative and doesnt have to resort to screaming ala Savage to make his point.

Re: Danny Murphy

Sat Jun 21, 2014 8:53 pm

A bit dry but brings up valid points.

Re: Danny Murphy

Sat Jun 21, 2014 8:54 pm

Can't make up my mind with him. Decent commentator but talks some shit at times. Beats Lawro and Phil Neville any day though

Re: Danny Murphy

Sat Jun 21, 2014 8:55 pm

Liked him when he was on MOTD last season, speaks sense and is a lot better than the likes of Savage and Lawro.

Re: Danny Murphy

Sat Jun 21, 2014 8:56 pm

I like him , think he's really good , much better than Savage

Re: Danny Murphy

Sat Jun 21, 2014 8:57 pm

What he lacks in charisma he makes up in analysis which I think is superb.

Ppint at the end about the 3 on 2 where he blamed the passer not the runner. Spot on.

Agree. Sensible chap. Lawrenson's comments tonight were so depressing that it caused our flowers to wilt. Even in Brazil at the World Cup he sounds like he's just discovered that someone has shit in his kitbag.

Lawro sounded like hes wilted a long time ago. Way past his sell by date.

Re: Danny Murphy

100000x better than Savage and Larwo. Quality commentator.

I'd pay good money to see David Icke back commentating again. Wibble. Neep. F'Tang.

he knows the game chris.doesnt get too excited and puts the odd bit of humour in without trying to take over.very good.still think gary neville is the best but danny murphy blows 95% of the other pubdits/commentaters out the water

I think the difference is that Sky would have put their new guys through months of training whereas it seems the BBC and ITV just throw their new guys in at the deep end and see if they can swim

i dont think thats the case just on Sky you get more on the job practice. Took Caragher a while to cut his teeth. Live TV isnt easy.

I agree and believe me I know from personal experience but there just seems to be a huge gulf between the different channels and I mean huge

Sky can throw silly money at the best ones though. Roy Keane was ITVs best pundit and in true Keano style left them in the lurch last minute.

BBC are much better than ITV.

Apparently Natman was offended by my 'Jesus Saves But Marshall's Better' t-shirts. I note from his web site that he has suggested to VT that we now change our name to the Red Devil Dodgers. Acoustic guitar in hand and wistful look to camera, pause, 1,2,3, Kumbaya My Lord.....

I have been wondering where Keane is. However ITV can also throw sums of money at presenters but unfortunately for them just the wrongs ones!!! Lol

Hoddle is best on ITV and Viera is ok. It doesnt help that idiot Childs trying to knit it all together with his constant need to try and be funny.

Completely off topic but apparently there's a video doing the rounds where Lisa Faulkner pops the lottery balls out of her clout. I'd just be happy with a rollover.

Hoddle has been on Sky beforehand through but I agree its crazy that he isn't involved in football anymore.

However as far as I'm aware Sky presenters and commentators can still work for ITV because SKY is a big shareholder of ITV and Hoddle is an example here but even daytime TV presenters like Eammon Holmes also does the two which leaves me to think why on earth wasn't others approached by ITV to cover the World Cup.

Initially disliked his dourness but he's grown into the role. Tony Pulis and Brad Friedel are pretty good on 5live. The BBC will persist with the likes of Kilbane and Neville though who are sinking without a trace.
