Been brilliant so far in this World Cup, hope they beat Holland and finish top of the group. Want to see them go as far as possible :ayatollah:

Simon Brotherton just said Medel has been superb tonight, which he has. Quality wise, Medel's probably been the best signing we've made in a long, long time. Unfortunately, many of our supporters don't have a clue about football. On the plus side, Medel's transfer fee will continue rising the further Chile go in the tournament.

Well he's shit supposedly and it doesn't matter how you do in a World Cup ;)

Played really well fair play and as I have said before with much better players around him would have shined more.

Failed with Cardiff in my opinion

Man of the Match for me! Always looked comfortable, and actually didn't put a foot wrong. Keep on playing like this and we might get more money for him though!

I was slammed for saying he was god and will shine elsewhere.
The season just gone has depressed him. Shite team, shite tactics, shite off field.

Would have liked cala medel and Connelly as back 3. With john/Fabio or ktc flying forward. :bluescarf:

Can't wait to hear Roathie's opinion now.

Medel and every Chilean played superbly tonight.

He was an absolute failure at Cardiff so what the hell does it matter if he plays well for his country. Just goes to show he is patriotic and when he puts the effort in he can be a good player. Sadly for us he couldn't be fucked and the fat b*stard was fucked after 20 minutes.

It was Simon Brotherton and Danny Murphy commentating wasn't it?

He was still poor last season regardless of what he does with Chile.

Do you think he had a good season for us? Yes or no?

Regardless of whether or not he is playing well for Chile he had a terrible season for us and that's all that matters. People licked his arse because he had tough guy image (No evidence of that), a foreign name and a big transfer fee. He was shite end of.

Yeah, because we did SO well when he didn't play.

Anyone with any sense could see he was carrying us.

He was superb until he got injured and then he came back too early and struggled for 6-8 games before finally giving in when we were down.

Maybe there are a few of our fans who can't remember back before Christmas.

By the way, nothing to do with a 'hard man' image -if anything that worried me, but he did well, controlled his aggression and didn't get sent off or suspended. Just the fact he was the only player in our side who could both win the ball and retain it.

Yep I'm wrong,

They all sound the bloody same to me apart from Motty and Guy Mowbary!

hopefully more of a chance in getting the money back with was paid out for him in the first place

Re: Gary Medel proved tonight

He is class. He was pretty good for us, apart from inexplicably giving one really crap pass every game which got us in trouble. Then he'd be great. Deserves to go to one of the top European clubs, and more good performances like tonight should get him that.

Lets face it, the average punter on this board knows little about football except that we used to play in blue but now we play in red.

Exactly it doesn't matter how he plays for us, the better he plays in the World Cup the more chance we get of receiving a good bid

Re: Gary Medel proved tonight

I thought Medel did very well for us and certainly don't see him as a flop. I felt he tailed off from playing too much from international duties but for the most part, I very much enjoyed his playing. If we had scraped through and stayed up, he wouldn't be getting this criticism for sure. He was class tonight and Chile were a breath of fresh air. Good luck to him and them.

To be honest, I only knew it was Simon Brotherton because I pushed the info button on my remote, I wouldn't have had a clue otherwise!

And Cahill owned the Netherlands today, the guy is still quality and has out jumped many world class defenders before so Medel certainly isn't the first to be beaten in the air by him specially when he's shorter.

Spot on! Playing in a crap midfield and defence like we had last season you would hardly expect him to be at his best
