However, the projected figure is far worse with more than 4000 expected to be killed by the time the venues are completed, working in conditions that are close to slave labour with little or no H + S.

This was an eye opening mini-documentary ESPN did a few weeks back on the living conditions of the workers in Qatar. Absolutely disgusting.

I hadn't seen that I had just read about the conditions, but after seeing it I feel even more appalled, if that's possible. I bet if I asked most black footballers if they thought slavery was a good idea I would get punched a few times, yet if they play in the Qatar World Cup they will have helped slavery to take place. It should be compulsive viewing for all professional footballers and all fans, then maybe a boycott will take place.

Thanks Annis. What do you think of my opinion that the video should be compulsive viewing for all footballers and fans and a possible boycott?

There are thousands of engineering and construction companies who could fill their place which would mean it would take forever to lobby all of them. The answer is to lobby the footballers and fans, then one or two major footballing nations and hopefully most will follow. There is the added incentive that most will not want to play their anyway with their summer temperatures.
