sam =700% tan =400%

Mon Jun 02, 2014 7:18 am

FACTS
when sam took over we were 3 million in debt
and when he left we were 24 million in debt
that is 700% 7 x3 =21milloin increase in debt
and yes he did save us from admin
when tan took over we were 30 million in debt
and at present (I will use the biggest estimate on here for this example)we are 150 million in debt
that is 400% 4 x 30 =120 million increase in debt
and yes he did save us from admin
however we do have a new stadium
we do have a new training ground planed we do have a better youth set up
we do have the house of sport
tan has given to local charities
we do have a better first team squad
ans we do have a FUTURE
but sadly he has changed our colours and badge (sam wanted to do the same)
and finally who knows what our debt will be after next season but imo it will be less than today due to parachute payments income from sales and a reduced wage bill on that point I have full confidence in the ole/ tan partnership :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :ole: :ole:

How on earth can you even attempt to attribute the new stadium to Tan?! :laughing5:

It was built well before he ever even heard of CCFC.

Re: sam =700% tan =400%

Mon Jun 02, 2014 7:39 am

but he took over the existing debt that came partly due to the new stadium and the agenda merchants on here want tan to turn ALLdebt to equity ffs :bluescarf: :ole:

Its funny how people interpret different things to people at different times. I remember not so long ago people attributing assets that hadn't even materialised under Scam to him when saying it balanced off against the crippling debt he left us with. I guess you wouldn't be able to say it was Tan's development because so many people want to claim it as Sam's. Actually it was Ridsdale's, you know, that other chairman that people on here lambasted. But you wouldn't remember that being a 'teenager' would you?

If you actually read my piece properly, you would see that I attributed the stadium build to the much maligned Ridsdale at the time. :thumbright: :thumbright:

Sam was a crook, but got the club through the divisions.
Ridsdale was a crook, but pushed the stadium through.
Tan saved the club, undoubtedly, however, his actions and lies (as that's how I perceive them) have meant that I hold him in a poor regard, alongside Hammam. :thumbright:

the stadium would not have been finished without the intervention of paul guy who loaned the club 9 million pounds to complete it

Thanks Steve, although you've reasserted my point because how many times has Guy been vilified on here???? I guess he is one of those people Carl is mentioning in that other post

Re: sam =700% tan =400%

Both men dicked your club and when you understand that you'll be closer to understanding what needs to be done to get the bluebird back.

Sam slapped his head and pissed Leeds fans off and you lot lapped it up. He walked your club down the road of financial insecurity so is just as at fault as the next man who rolls into town promising you the world.

Bad owner leads to bad owner when debt is growing on debt.

Your debt is so huge now because Tan had to walk into your club and pick up the tab as well as fund the running costs because you had no income because of previous owners. He was allowed to inflate it because your clubs collective ego could'nt perish the thought of being a Championship club. There is nothing wrong with being a 2nd division club as the "dont worry about relegation" style threads on this forum keep explaining but now thats simply not financially viable anymore.

You should have driven them out and aimed at becoming financially stable like we did instead of chasing the dream. The dream became a nightmare and you woke up in shitty sheets because you mortgaged everything including your history and heratidge.

Oh, and before you start the 5p in the pound or whatever bullshit, save it because we will only end up having another 10 pager with Roathie explaining how no buisnesses went to the wall and that we have actually looked after all the old buisnesses quite well with lucrative contracts with the club because thats the actual truth of the matter. Btw finance isn't your fanbases strong point.

Exactly Steve and that then cost us in future as he held good terms not the debt at least whilst tan owns us we are not held ransom by anyone, he may himself ransom us at some point but onto time will tell on that front

So you think taking debt from a quid to seven quid is worse than taking it from 1 million quid to 4 million quid? :?

Sorry but this is stupid.

Id say the debt has been taken from possibly manageable to ridiculously astronomical regardless of %.

Paul guy played a huge part in bringing the stadium to fruition as it was him who brought enough clients to the retail park to allow the council to release the land to the club. the money that paul guy paid for the land went toward building the stadium.

I agree about the negativity that infests the board and I spent some time looking at the merits of romtoms post regarding financial fair play and he is right to say tan would be silly to convert all the debt to equity right now as he can convert over a number of seasons and keep us within the financial rules.
The only reason I stick up for paul is that he at least he committed his own money to the cause unlike Sam who loaned it on our behalf and ridsdale who put nothing in but took lots out.

sam safeguarded his investment.........im sure his initial thoughts were..we get bigger crowds, better sponsorship .....without his belief i think we would be lge 2 now........im pretty sure he didnt just over extend the club, but over extended his own finances.........people talk about tens of millions on here as if its half a crown.........do fans really EXPECT foreign men to just gift our club millions..........and generally without big risks in football a club goes nowhere........there are examples { Swansea that buck this rule }.......but the top clubs are generally those who spend.......
as for Paul Guy,you know far more about his involvement than i do............to me he is one of many people who put money in ,and made plans, believed in my club....when others didnt
