Good question! We were blue and white, but the yellow stripe appeared in the 75/76 season, after we had been relegated to division three. At the time, I remember a lot of people did not like it, but somehow, over time, it has achieved cult status. Perhaps it's because that was a promotion season, (still, my favourite ever), but who really knows. In later years, we also had a touch of red, long before any re-branding. Was never too fussed on that.

Sort of agree with you. Had the shirt with the white and yellow stripe and didn't cross my mind at the time that it was so different. I know a few people who were well pissed off.

Would rather all kits be blue and white.

It's been a small part of our kits for over 50 years, personally, I think I'd gave us individuality

I think the yellow makes (made) us more unique, I can't think of any other team that play in blue (dominant)/yellow/white

Get your facts right it first appeared in the mid 70s and has appeared on our kit ever since (up until the shitbrand) apart from late 80s early 90s

Yellow is unique to cardiff city, Chelsea is blue and white as is Everton Birmingham and Leicester, cardiff city is blue white and yellow different to those teams and that's what I like

Since its introduction in 1975 there was yellow on the kit, wether it just be a badge backrgorund, or writing around the badge, until 1987. It then went missing in favour of red piping until 1995.

1995/96, 97/98, 2003-2010 all included yellow, 2011/12 also included yellow.

So since yellow piping got introduced in 1975 we have had yellow in 23 of the 38 seasons until the shitbrand.

Also, there was Yellow on the very first home shirt in 1899:thumbup:
