UEFA Super Cup

Sat May 24, 2014 10:15 pm

August 12 , will see Uefa's top brass in the capital !

I'm sure the Despot will want the CCS & surrounding area squeaky clean , with the Malaysian flag & red , red , red in
abundance ! I don't imagine he'll want a hint of dissent !

Time to get planning !

If the Despot won't speak to us nor won't accept our written concerns in the form of a petition then we need look at all options to publicise our anti-rebrand stance !

There's no compromise with this guy , if we really have any desire for a return to blue & the bluebird badge , we need to take every opportunity to stand up for our history & tradition !

The message to Vincent Tan needs to be delivered loud & clear !#TANOUT

no, wrecking the stadium and the surrounding area in the run up to a major eurpoean final is just plain silly and will embarrass everyone bar Tan. Not that we should aim to embarrass him anyway

I'm not proposing physically wrecking anything , just taking the opp to deliver a viewpoint to a wider footy audience!

Are you prepared to accept the rebrand ?

It never has bothered me. But what you're suggesting will achieve nothing

Very much think that any un-official UEFA sponsors including Malaysian flags would have to be covered up for the event

How do you know that ?! Doing absolutely nothing is only going to appease Tan & keep the indifferent , like yourself , happy !

Re: UEFA Super Cup

Pathetic, the Super cup is nothing to do with Cardiff City. Only thing it would do is make sure we don't have a chance as host venue for the euros.

Fans have had 2 years to protest and for the majority of it pussy footed around it. Why spoilt a chance for Wales and Cardiff to show off they can hold a major event.

It's a venue, someone posted they were going to wedding party at the stadium, do you want to go protest at that as well?

As for what I've done, it is little, wore blue, the usual but I don't pretend to take the moral high ground.

Yes. I hope she's not wearing a white dress on her wedding day the jack......

When's the next wedding down there? I'll see to it myself personally that she wears a blue dress with yellow trim and the groom must wear a nice blue suit with a bluebird pin on it.

No moral high ground from me , just looking to publicise anti-rebrand sentiment to it's max ! Tan isn't prepared to listen to any of the fan base , as is his right ! By the same token those members of that fan base who wish to publicise their viewpoint, whatever it may be, can examine whatever , legal , options they see fit !

Re: UEFA Super Cup

A very prestigious football final is to be held at our stadium in our city with arguably the biggest sporting club in the world being one of the teams taking part, also a game that could well be a forerunner for the city of Cardiff to one day host a europa league final at the millennium stadium...you never no. personaly i hope it all goes well and turns out to be a big success. Games like this are about more than just the football club, its about selling the city of Cardiff to a wider audience. Haven't the welsh fa just put in a bid to host a few 2020 euro games? If the super cup turns out to be a success, then that will be a few extra browny points from uefa I bet. I want our blue back just like the rest of us, but I don't think the super cup is a good time to do a protest or anything like that, but that's just my opinion

If you think Vincent tan will have any involvement with anything to do with the final your a bigger moron then I thought you were.
They are using our stadium that's as far as it goes.
You won't see any sponsor to do with Cardiff city at all.

Good post & I certainly take your point about the bigger picture , if circumstances were different I'd take a similar standpoint !

As I see it Vincent Tan isn't prepared to engage with the supporters of the club ,certainly those campaigning for it's traditions ,at any level ,in spite of his rhetoric to the contrary , that for me nudges those fans campaigning against the rebrand , to contemplate all options , the publicity offered by the Super Cup , included .

How will you get your view point across there not going to show a bunch of fans from another club outside the stadium are they because you don't have any chance of getting inside.

Well professor ,on these occasions , more camera/reporter time is spent outside of the stadium than inside of it !

This weekend release has really gone too far !

No it's not.
An even if it was they'd be reporting on the teams that were playing.

It would probably ruin any chance of Cardiff hosting any euro 2020 games or a champions league finale.
