Hope so. I'm not really looking forward to being in the same league as him next season if he gets the Norwich job. The whole season will be about him vs us, with a lot of our fans...especially on here. Who finishes above who, who beats who etc. It will turn into a points scoring exercise between pro malkys and anti malkys between our fans. Celtic would be ideal for him. He can even test himself in Europe

Just heard they might go for Moyes lol.

I reckon Malky's next job will be League 1 tops!

Would be perfect for him to be fair, a chance to rebuild his rep and win things. Hardly a challange though.

Malky's style would be perfect for Celtic against the bigger teams in Europe. He will get his team organised and disciplined. Ole's style if he was Celtic manager in Europe playing his open, attacking style against teams like Barcelona however...

Ole at Cardiff obviously, although it' obvious to me we have the wrong manager and we have no hope of bouncing back to the Premiership under Ole. I'm just pointing out how clueless some people are in this thread thinking Malky's style wouldn't work in Europe.

Although I agree with you on the point it would possibly work in Europe (Malky's sides were not well organised at Premier League level on the other hand) you still continue to baffle me. You take a dig at Ole despite him having nothing to do with the topic in hand. You really to hate Ole for replacing Malky don't you? Grow up.

Yes because we were such a defensive rock under Malky with that brilliant record of having the 2nd highest amount of goals conceded :laughing6:

Good luck to him whatever job he gets

Re: MALKY TO CELTIC?

My point was who would want to see Celtic practically defend on the edge of the box for 90 mins against a team like Madrid or Barcelona. Yes, defensive can be ok, but not when the team possesses such an attacking threat and the opposition like Celtic not a significantly strong defence. Teams like Chelsea, Manchester and Athletico are ok to play that way because they have the quality at the back. What we showed quite evidently is that if you haven't got the fire power to convert your rare chances from playing defensive minded football then its invariably going to be one way traffic and quite likely a massacre.

I think the Newcastle game showed me the failings of this system perfectly. Early in the game we were holding our own and we should have scored but we didn't because our forwards were not good enough. Newcastle had that cutting edge upfront so eventually they got their goal which meant we had to go chasing the game. This is possible where the two managers differ, OGS went to chase whereas Malky probably would have continued with his Anti-football. We still didn't have the quality up front to convert the chances and what more we then lacked the bodies at the back to help the lack of quality we had there. Hence we started shipping them in.

Now rinse, wash and repeat for Malky's style of football if he went to Celtic and played one of the giants. it wouldn't be the perfect tactic, quite opposite. It will invite the opposition on to them with their quality, allow them to carve out numerous opportunities and get goals which would leave a team like Celtic chasing the game. Then they would leave the gaps at the back and chances are a team as formidable and unforgiving as that will rack up a few more.

The Man City win, however great it was, was a fluke for this brand of football. That became evident when we could go and attack the other teams who were closer around us and put them to the sword a la Villa and Stoke.

Couldn't disagree more. The Newcastle game we went at them in the second half, scored, and had them hanging on for dear life at the end. The Man City win wasn't a fluke, we probably wouldn't have won if Kompany was playing, but we beat what we were up against fairly and squarely. If Malky goes to Celtic, he is capable of on the day, setting his team up with an organised game plan good enough to turn over some of the European giants.
