Simon Lim - the club is up for sale

Fri May 09, 2014 5:52 pm

As Annis and Carl have reported back, Simon Lim has said that the club is 100% up for sale.

If this is true, can you see VT putting any more money into the club or is he now more likely to just bleed it dry slowly?

I dont think he should be putting anymore money in anyway, we need to make cut backs.

The latter probably - but he also wouldn't want the club to be in a dire position and be un-sellable

100% agree.

Tan has maintained the fact he would sell to someone for a price that suit would him, whether his thoughts from last season has changed remains to be seen, I would prefer him to stay with a more hands off approach

So you'd be happy not to make any summer signings? (assuming Marshall, Caulker and Medel will probably go)

Not if he cuts back on the dept by selling players. My guess is he will rith of Ole, sell assets to cover depth, pack his bags and sell for a reasonable amount. Keep the faith, Tan out :bluescarf:

Are squad is stupidly big with a lot of not very good players sadly. We need a huge clear out and it wont be easy getting rid of some. People like Tommy Smith, Etien, Connally, the list goes on and on

£140 million seems like a pretty exaggerated figure to me. Do you really think the club is in that much sh@t?

Smith's out of contract in the summer thankully.

I'm hoping Etien turns out to be amazing

Its a bit of a throw away comment from Lim. Clubs are always for sale.

Rick Wrght put the club up for sale the day he bought it.

Yes I do, watch out for the accounts that will be out very soon.

nobody knows the answer.........there have never been a line of wealthy billionaires ready to snap up our club.......so getting his money back that way is unlikely..
i dont see where slowly comes in though....although a huge sum....its a small percentage of his total worth....if he wants out by means of liquidating assets..now is the time..he can take huge chunks out of the club by selling our better players, already has the bulk of ST money with TV money{ at least part of it }........then sell cheap
my fear is..a club without assets..and no revenue....even selling on the cheap might not bring in a buyer........

Ole believes if most of the squad stay he will have most of his players already, Ole said this to us on Wednesday night.

To be honest I doubt he was going to say all of his players are shit and he hopes he can sell them all

In an interview with the BBC a few months ago, Tan said that he would sell up if someone came along who wanted Cardiff - what Carl and Annis heard isn't breaking news, it's been out in the open for a good few months now.

From today's press conference I don't agree. He clearly stated he was going " to do I my way", and clearly stated times of big changes. Only, he won't get the chance

Every club is up for sale for the right price, I can't see tan taking a significant loss though, so we will be pushing for promotion next season, that's for sure, if tan wants to sell up and get anywhere near his money back, then he will have to do it when we are a premier league club

Not true! Roathie have done the math, and he can leave with a 12 mill profit!

Don't you think he would have sold you this season then if he had a buyer? If he wants out surely he would have been on the lookout for a buyer already.

Now he finds himself possibly £140 million out of pocket and back at square one...

It's not like the money has gone out the window is it? They are invested and assets are still there!

If we only got rid of Caulker and Medel we do have a very good championship team still need a few recruitment and get rid of a few I agree

Marshal would be the only real loss, We won the league with a worse squad than we have now.

Best chance Tan has of making his mobey back is if we are in the prem. With 23m in parachute payments next year, and him spending 10m to get usup last season there is no reason to doubt we cantgo straight back up.
