He has no previous experience of managing, no contacts and best of all, can't spell his first name!
This is a real risk by the board and is likely to divide the fans and dressing room as soon as the going gets tough, which it will!
Only months ago. He was involved with a training ground spat featuring the pantomime villain Chico Flores.
And he was photographed with Huey Jenkov in a red top. Apparently, it is lucky. Lololol

Personally I'm more than happy with Monk continuing as manager. Performance levels increased markedly from the second half of the Laudrup era. He knows the ethos of the club and what makes us tick.
The board have appointed enough managers during their time to know what their doing and I have every faith they've got it right again.

What contacts has he got, what does he know about the transfer market ???
Your recent success has been from the managers you appointed making some good transfers, I can't see how Monk is comparable to any of them ?

That's a stick often used to beat him with but transfers in this day and age are predominantly agent driven, not contacts driven.
But regardless, he's got contacts in Rodgers and Martinez to start with. In addition, Pep Clotet (his assistant) has coached in Spain with Malaga and Espanyol.
Until he's had an opportunity to bring players in it's not something he can be fairly judged on.

If I was picking a Manager for the Jacks, he would be my first choice, with Avram Grant as a close second, it will be an interesting appointment. I really hope it works out as well as I think it will.....

Yet the next guy takes us to a new level.
My sekf I allso think its a risk but I did so with jacket martinez sousa and whe they took brendon i thought who the f**k was he.
But huw and the board allways seam to know whats best for the club and mink is that guy.
Add to that the players want him so it makes sence to go back to what got us here.
But I will say I would me more concerned if u all said he was the right choice and would do well as what ever u predicted the total opposite happens.
So now looking forward to a top 6 finish next year and monk manager of the year
