HAPPY WITH MONK!!!

Wed May 07, 2014 5:29 pm

I, for one, am ecstatic with the appointment up the road. We won't have to wait long for them to drop like stones.

He has no previous experience of managing, no contacts and best of all, can't spell his first name!

This is a real risk by the board and is likely to divide the fans and dressing room as soon as the going gets tough, which it will!

Only months ago. He was involved with a training ground spat featuring the pantomime villain Chico Flores.

And he was photographed with Huey Jenkov in a red top. Apparently, it is lucky. Lololol :laughing6:

Best manager you've ever had, taken you to the promised land then your mental chairman sacked him :laughing5:

So successful he spunked 40 odd million in the summer then got sacked in January...

If I was picking a Manager for the Jacks, he would be my first choice, with Avram Grant as a close second, it will be an interesting appointment. I really hope it works out as well as I think it will.....

Whilst Monk has got Swansea through their relegation battle, I doubt he is the right man to lead them long term. Sounds like Swansea have gone for the "cheaper" option...

There are always risks involved and no guarantees with any appointment.

Personally I'm more than happy with Monk continuing as manager. Performance levels increased markedly from the second half of the Laudrup era. He knows the ethos of the club and what makes us tick.

The board have appointed enough managers during their time to know what their doing and I have every faith they've got it right again.

Hope you are wrong!

However people on this board should be more concerned about how ccfc is being run. It is an absolute shambles and even if monk fails at Swansea it is not improbable that ccfc will drop another division next season.

What contacts has he got, what does he know about the transfer market ???

Your recent success has been from the managers you appointed making some good transfers, I can't see how Monk is comparable to any of them ?

That's a stick often used to beat him with but transfers in this day and age are predominantly agent driven, not contacts driven.

But regardless, he's got contacts in Rodgers and Martinez to start with. In addition, Pep Clotet (his assistant) has coached in Spain with Malaga and Espanyol.

Until he's had an opportunity to bring players in it's not something he can be fairly judged on.

One of the main aspects of the job and he has no experience, it will be interesting .........

I would have thought you would have stuck with what has worked, but time will tell ?

We've been through this before mate. Malky was undermined by the owner, causing a lack of confidence in the dressing room. Many of the pundits agree he shouldn't have been sacked. He had more stomach for an end of season scrap than OGS.

Just my opinion, but valid I think.

Can I just add to the list of contacts he may have, aside from Martinez, Rogers, and whoever else he may have met along the way...

From his Southampton days, he has Strachan, Hoddle and your very own Dave Jones who helped him on his way in his early career. Speaks quite highly of them all in his book, and in fairness, I have heard them singing his praises in the last few months.

What makes me laugh is every time a manager moves on its the end for us.
Yet the next guy takes us to a new level.
My sekf I allso think its a risk but I did so with jacket martinez sousa and whe they took brendon i thought who the f**k was he.
But huw and the board allways seam to know whats best for the club and mink is that guy.
Add to that the players want him so it makes sence to go back to what got us here.
But I will say I would me more concerned if u all said he was the right choice and would do well as what ever u predicted the total opposite happens.
So now looking forward to a top 6 finish next year and monk manager of the year

It does have a funny habit of turning out that way...My favourite thing is to have a look on here around the beginning of August, read the predictions of how the upcoming season will finally see us implode and then bet on the exact opposite.

Re: HAPPY WITH MONK!!!

Thu May 08, 2014 1:05 pm

U would think after all these years they would learn to keep shut about predictions.
I liked our first season in the champ and how we would be bottom by xmas playing in the bug biy league.
And who can ever forget bony is shit.

Not really gonna judge their appointment, we all know what happens with us jumping to a judgement on Swansea and their appointments etc.
