SUPPORTERS TRUST IN PLEA TO VINCENT TAN

Sun May 04, 2014 11:51 am

Statement from Cardiff City Supporters’ Trust following the club’s relegation from the Premier League:

Chair Tim Hartley said: “The relegation, which many of us expected, was confirmed at Newcastle yesterday. A season that started with such optimism is all over bar the shouting with the Bluebirds starting again in the Championship in 2014-15.

“The season’s end provides an opportunity for the club owner, Vincent Tan, to build a new era with the supporters of this football club.

“This means starting a regular and meaningful dialogue with fans and supporter groups. The new season also provides Mr Tan with an opportunity to wipe the sheet clean and build severely damaged relationships with supporters.

“One immediate action he should take is to announce that blue will once again be the colour of the home shirt and the traditional club badge will also be restored.

“If Mr Tan continues to ignore the wishes of its long-standing supporters, it is inevitable that protests will continue next season, deflecting from efforts to return to the Premier League at the first opportunity.

“If Mr Tan has learnt anything from this season it is that he can no longer ignore his customers – the fans of Cardiff City, many of whom have followed the club through thick and thin over decades. We look forward to meeting Mr Tan at the earliest opportunity

Too little too late in my opinion, but I suppose that could be said about our supporters on the whole.

Certain people have opposed the rebrand from day one and they'll know who they are, but most only protest when it suits them - usually when the club is not doing well.

Oh well, I suppose it's better late than never.

It's a good statement but I fear it will fall on deaf ears

Great statement.
We need a united club again.
Let's hope Tan will finally listen.

Good intention, but will Tan react well to threats. Maybe, maybe not. We'll see I guess. He does need to assure the fans of his plans for the club. While we are on the subject, I think we will see a return to blue. :bluescarf: :ole:

A good statement.

Lets pray Tan will take stead of it. If he does not then he can expect a response. That response being the next step to get him to sell up. Well that's my opinion.

Utter bollocks! the fans do not and will not run the club it will be left to the owners to appoint suitable administration. something that Tan has so far failed to do. The fans "customers" will either attend matches or choose to stay away it is their choice.

Sometimes think the "fans" would rather be arse raped as they were with Hammam and Langston, for christ sakes he was made honorary life president for his snake charming.

What a childish and inane statement by some prat who obviously failed in local politics and has now decided to represent me the fan . Now is not the time for throwing toys out of prams and making childish threats , now is the time to get behind the club , one that is currently owned by Mr Tan .

100% Gavin.

Summed up the feeling of myself and I think most of us long standing, long suffering, long loving loyal fan's.

For me, if he returned us to blue and our bluebirds badge, I would forgive.

I would not feel as if my club has been hijacked and raped as I do now.

BUT, as I and many others have stated, I fear the worst as TAN (as the majority of south east Asian people) - loosing face is NOT an option - I fear he would rather loose millions than admit defeat(as he would see it).

If you buy a business as a going concern, you are, like it or not, also buying the goodwill and regular customers - TAN FORGOT THAT BIT !!!!!

But I will keep praying and supporting my club like I have for over 40 years. :old:

Blooobirds forever !!! :bluescarf:  :bluescarf:

Like he gives a shit about the above statement, clearly none before or this one. I guess a minion or two will attend next seasons meetings like all the others and when tan did show up for one out of the BLUE nobody could talk of what went on in them minutes with tan in attendence :laughing5:

Re: SUPPORTERS TRUST IN PLEA TO VINCENT TAN

Sorrry but this statement, worthy as it is and saying what most fans think, is designed for the fans, not tan.

Even if tan sees it, he's not going to make decisions based on statements from tim hartley.

Less than a year ago tim hartley was holding up the championship trophy with red ribbons, watched by tan, after winning the league in red, claiming glory by association for the trust (its on their own website http://www.ccfctrust.org/?p=2995

So, while the sentiment is right, imo its a bit late to be taking the moral high ground.

Still, its the right message for the fans - but if tan turns us back to blue (which i hope he does) it wont be because of this!

No different to most newly promoted clubs for their first taste of premiership football.

“The season’s end provides an opportunity for the club owner, Vincent Tan, to build a new era with the supporters of this football club.

Translated to the gimp Hartley fancies a seat on the board.

“This means starting a regular and meaningful dialogue with fans and supporter groups. The new season also provides Mr Tan with an opportunity to wipe the sheet clean and build severely damaged relationships with supporters.

Again Hartley thinking of himself. Funny how there was no damaged relationships in the main when Red at the end of season promotion parties?

“One immediate action he should take is to announce that blue will once again be the colour of the home shirt and the traditional club badge will also be restored.

Hartley wants a few votes

“If Mr Tan continues to ignore the wishes of its long-standing supporters, it is inevitable that protests will continue next season, deflecting from efforts to return to the Premier League at the first opportunity.

There is only a handful of " long standing supporters"

Protests be washed up once Tan starts spending a few quid and title challenge starts. Didnt see many protests down the bay this time last year?

“If Mr Tan has learnt anything from this season it is that he can no longer ignore his customers – the fans of Cardiff City, many of whom have followed the club through thick and thin over decades. We look forward to meeting Mr Tan at the earliest opportunity

Hartley wants to meet Tan in English

Many = about 4,000 out out of 27,000

How do we go about that then?

"Expect a response" - We should have given him a response to the rebrand two years ago. My prediction is that this letter never reaches him.

The statement is cringeworthy. Tan knows the effect it has on us but just dont care because he values his opinion over ours. When will people realise hes just not going to listen? How long before you wake up?

The only way of getting our colours back is to make his life as hard as possible and chant for him to leave and run him out of the city. Protesting in the stands aint going to do anything either as he doesn't care.

Re: SUPPORTERS TRUST IN PLEA TO VINCENT TAN

Can't argue with that statement. The most logical thing to do to regain positivity at the club is to return us back to blue, but of course he won't, he'll never admit to being wrong.

Re: SUPPORTERS TRUST IN PLEA TO VINCENT TAN

Mon May 05, 2014 12:40 am

I think everyone will agree the statement is very well thought out and a good one.

Just the question is will Tan read it or find out about it?

And will he do anything?

The amount of positive media and world wide news if he returned us to Blue would be madness, get's him a little respect back etc.

Re: SUPPORTERS TRUST IN PLEA TO VINCENT TAN

Mon May 05, 2014 12:46 am

He probably thinks the trust is a joke. Why would they concern him let's be honest.
Supports club have more respect.

Too late. Great sentiment and well worded but its futile. You should have opposed when it was announced as should any PROPER CARDIFFIAN (forget the valleys) now is too late.

No. Chant at him outside the reception as he's entering and leaving so he realises just how much fans want him out. In the stands he couldn't care less. You've paid and hes got your money. Sing what you want.
