Some of the stick they are getting lately is out of order.

Yes they do edit posts and I do it myself, if words like c unt are in the headlines or name calling or despicable posts are posted, of course we dont see all of them, but if we do or they are reported to us, we edit them or delete them depending.

Regarding some topics which become stickies, they just get tidied up, to make them stand up, no major editing.

Also can the sniping and name calling calm down please as I have asked the moderators to start the warnings up again.

Now please can the mods get a little more Respect

At the end of the day its a football forum, we dont really hate each other we just disagree with each other

Annis most of the mods do get respect and are fair with posts on here but there's always an exception to the rule as you can see from forum members views

People earn respect Annis, not just get it for being a moderator.

Some have earned respect, others havent and indeed only spread animosity from behind their ban button and wouldnt last 2 minutes without one.

I treat everyone the same regardless of username or mod or non mod - if someone needs a dressing down then im always happy to give it regardless of the above. Im sure others are the same.

If a post is not acceptable, delete it. Don't modify it to say what you want.

I don't know who edited one of my posts some time back, but all I posted was "whoops", in answer to a posting that predicted a win for the Bluebirds, but you actually lost the game. Some insulting comments, along the line of you ""cardiff so and so's", were added, to what most on here, would accept as banter. As A result of my post being edited I was banned!

I now wonder what's going to be "edited" in this post, and will it result in a ban.

I know that deleting a post is within the rights of a mod, but I'm not sure if tampering with a post is legal. If it is, its certainly not within the spirit of a free, uncensored internet.

How is that in any way ironic? :?

Maybe you are mistaking being the target of animosity with actively spreading it. Easy mistake to make :thumbright:

I like to wind some of them up for a bit of anti authority fun but at the end of the day its a non paid role on a football forum.

They deserve respect just for giving their time up to try and police this site wether or not you agree with some of their actions or opinions.

For the ones in question, it is a way to cop out of losing debates and be able to ban those who make them look silly.

It is not out of the goodness of their heart in which they take the position, it is a forum security blanket.

ive had posts edited to say something i didnt want to say, that is out of order really.

Also have perfectly normal non-swear word posts deleted because they didnt fit in with the agenda on here...

some of the mods i really like and respect on here, some are just arseholes to be honest though.

It's not as easy as people think.

Most annoying thing is when someone sees something inappropriate and reports it but then continues to "quote" the said comment. Meaning it then takes an age to remove all the message and all the quoted messages.

I'm pretty laid back as a mod but just use your brain. Have banter but know lines.

I don't expect any respect for helping, I do it to help Cardiff fans have a good forum to post on.

but the issue most people have is not about normal moderating... deleting posts with the c word in for example.

its more about a certain agenda and the fact that (personal opinion here)something i write can be modifies and changed to make it look like ive said something complety different which is out of order to be fair.

Paul that's fair enough, that's not something I would do and wouldn't agree with if it's happened. I'm pretty straight down the line with what I do.

I don't agree the board has an agenda though. I think me and Annis have agreed once if ever on football  but he has never ever asked me to say anything for him or to back his opinion etc. I think the confusion arises is because a lot of fans take what Annis says as gospel rather than give there own opinions back to what he says. That's not Annis fault though.

There is a certain agenda on here in regards to what is stickied but I really don't care about that.

Mods are excellent and there is only one moderator that I would get rid of.

Annis, the particular one you were talking about a few days ago, i said something about Dave Jones and the fact that you kept talking about him long after he left the club. obviously i accused you of deleting the post because it was in reference to you directly, but if you say you didnt then someone is just randomly deleting posts that dont seem to fit

anyway, its hard to give an example when your post has been deleted :laughing5:

believe it or not im quite easy going on here, but changing people posts (unless its down to being offensive) is not on.

i had one post a while ago, where a link to one of your other forums was added, might not seem a big deal i know, but peoples posts should be their own.

Would you sticky a media report that said Malky was a terrible manager, red is lucky, Tan is brilliant and DJ is king?

This site and a few moderators are continually looking for news stories regarding or relating to Cardiff City FC,whether or not they are pro and anti any particular individual or the club is immaterial, the stories are stickied if they are a good article no matter what side of the fence you sit.

Personally I was often criticised for updates I wrote and I was accused of an agenda but the truth is I would write what was being told to me, if for arguments sake Vincent Tan done something positive I would write about it but the truth is avid readers of the site would only want to discuss the sensational and negative pieces and not the positive bits.

When Tan announced that he would give £1million to charity for every season City were in the Premier League, it was a sticky on this site and promoted as a good news story yet many of us were not happy at his running of the club at the time of the said announcement.

People continually state moderators have an agenda on here and the biggest target of such claims is Annis I suppose but it has been proven on here that Annis speaks his mind at the time of writing his posts, I refer you to the post that was bumped on here last week where Annis criticised Malky Mackay for our performances in April 2012 yet if you listen to those people who are currently in debate with Annis over Ole, they say Annis gave Malky 2 years and is being unfair on Ole and not giving the current manager the support he gave the previous one.

This is just a small example of how some posters will try to make things look different to what they really are.

Mods should get voted in once a year.

Do a yearly vote and the one with the least makes way for one voted in.

Could have a few do an election campaign, not to attack the current mods but to shake it up a bit.

Keep them all on their toes and behaving.

The pond-life had outstayed his welcome.

And Carl I enjoyed your updates, pity others were too eager to slate you. I have no problem with mods having strong opinions regarding the rebrand, this is a messageboard after all.

And its a poor example I am afraid Carl.

People have hit Annis with that as Annis continually bangs on about Malky and has a pop at anyone who slates Malky in the same way as he slated him himself in that thread.

Annis has said he doesnt care about the football its the results that matter when defending Malky yet that thread congtradicts those claims. It also contradicts Annis claim he always gave Malky his full backing.

They are some of the reasons that thread got bumped.

Not a bad idea. I was a moderator for years on a Football Manager fansite so appreciate how hard it can be and how you can never be right and will always upset someone. However, maybe this voting system will actually show whether the mod gets the majority of decisions right or wrong.

It would be nice to see a few regular members who have great views get the chance to be voted in. I would say that people should only be voted in if they want to because being a mod requires a lot of work and it's not for everyone. I'd be up for the voting system though. There's a number of regular members I'd like to see as mods.
