The Silence from Tan is deafening

Sun May 04, 2014 8:50 am

Strange how tan has gone very quiet recently. No comment from him regarding the lucky colour that we are wearing. No comment from him about how he messed up by sacking Mackay in such a revolting way . No comment from him about the great January signings. No comment from him about relegation.

Would dearly love him to try and come out with a statement about the future.

" TAN NEEDS TO "

Hopefully tan will see sense. He needs to reverse the rebrand. He needs to appoint a director of football with a good knowledge of championship football. He needs to apologise for his actions. He also needs to convert debt to equity.

Either that or he needs to leave.

It's a shame he was so vocal in December. The man is an utter idiot and is the sole reason for relegation. How you can defend him is beyond me.

Its easy to defend him against hypocritical weirdo statements that make the posters look like morons.

Did you, or did you not want him to keep quiet and let managers manage??

He is doing that and now you are moaning that he's not more vocal in the background.

Never defended him against the indefensible ie) rebrand or the way he sacked Malky but, same as anyone else, i would defend against utter nonense.

I agree Gareth, Tan could not shut his foolish mouth back a few months ago and just took the mick out of the fans ect.
Tan needs to now state his real intentions asap, before the rumour mill starts up, I believe we should be told the plans for next season etc, they would of surely had two plans in place since January.

There should be a plan a and plan b. Embarrassing new stand being built with lucky red seats in. Will look good with 20000 next season!

Annis, as discussed on another thread

Christ almighty, damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.

Annis, you do realise we were only officially relegated yesterday and there's still one match left in this season? why would he start talking about next season so soon?

He hasn't made a statement simply because he doesn't understand, and being surrounded by yes men at the club, nobody has been big enough and told him yet what relegation means

Many chairman speak out after their club are relegated and the sooner he does the better. The Chelsea game means nothing to us now and thats a fact.
Tan is quick enough to spout his sh it when it suits him.

I cant believe anyone one can even think about sticking up for him, but thats what make good debates and everyone should have opinions

Just looking for a reason to moan. It's neatly four months until the championship starts and we haven't been relegated 24 hours. I'm sure Ole has been given assurances to some degree and Dalman was at Newcastle yesterday.

Fella, I think Annis has made the point before (as I have) that there needs to be a clear statement from Vincent Tan at the end of a very long a testing season...

Tan may not be to blame for the assembled squad (I don't think anyone can deny he made money available and it was hardly his fault that most of it went on relatively poor value players) but he is, as they say, the man at the top and he has certainly alienated many paying supporters with his actions (on the blue) and his subsequent ill-considered comments

It may well be prudent to wait until after the Chelski game, but Tan certainly needs to make a clear statement on (a) what has happened this season, and maybe more importantly (b) what the future holds for this once proud club

Gareth I disagree that VT is the sole reason why we have been relegated but having said that the way that both he and his cronies have managed off field matters have, in my opinion, been the biggest factor in this relegation.

Moody has to take his share of the blame as well because his work on player recruitment last summer proved to me he simply wasn't up to the job. He paid top money for players some of whom simply were not PL standard and spent months chasing Tom Ince having agreed an incredible price for him only ultimately to fail. The fact that player eventually got a loan move to Palace only to sit on the bench shows that he to was not ready for PL week in week out.

I just wish MM had seen and accepted how badly Moody had done and got rid, as VT wanted, that way I believe MM would have at least got the whole of this season to try and keep us in the PL. Sadly MM stayed loyal to Moody and his relationship with VT collapsed and from that point onwards the outcome was inevitable.

I don't blame OGS for what's happened because he was left with an impossible job just like MM was through the Oct - Dec run of games.

Constant leaks and criticism by VT and his cronies throughout this season have, in my opinion, destabalised our club and this relegation should be dedicated to VT, his cronies and thier dreadful style of management.

If he were to make any announcement now I would hope it was "I'm Off" but I won't hold my breath on that because he is in too deep now and the value of his investment has just dropped by 10's of £m's.

Take away the horrendous Rebrand and I don't see a lot wrong with Tan as a modern day owner? I personally didn't have a problem with the sacking of Malky, on reflection I wish he had done it earlier, I very much liked Malky as a person, but his football style and tactics were boring, his replacement OGS, was the wrong one, but maybe this was Dalmans choice anyway?
Tan has backed the managers financially to the hilt, he has also paid off all creditors and debts to Langston. He turns up at games, which is rare for a foreign owner. He supports local charities and community projects with hard cash. Now, swap those images of him in the press, by putting a blue shirt with a bluebird badge on him, doing the ayatollah with a big grin on his face and the vast majority would be praising him, saying what a fantastic character he is.

For me, the man is beyond parody. He resembles a cartoon character and doesn't seem to understand how much of a joke he is. The rebrand was indeed horrendous and deeply disrespectful to the history of Cardiff City - but his contradictory stance on backing managers (no more money for Mackay yet money for OGS), wearing the red shirt, publicising himself more than the club and clearly knowing nothing about the game shows him to be a charlatan. The silence is deafening because he needs to come out and either back his new manager publically and also explain what the plan for next season is. Cardiff will lose a lot of revenue next season and he must reassure everyone it's being planned for.

Cardiff's relegation yesterday did disappoint me because I felt you were a welcome addition to the Premier League and your rise from the old 4th division was admirable given the struggles. I hope whatever happens next season is the right thing for Cardiff City but firmly believe Tan needs to be less of a public figure - or sell the club.

Absolutely Annis anyone worth their salt has a plan B after all assumption is the mother of all f**k ups!!!

He said he wouldnt go ahead with it. The echo then ran a huge spread on how fans wanted it and all the letters they got sent, people even emailed TG begging for it. So Tan said he would go ahead with itthen due to fans feelings. That is all fact and in the public domain, all you need to do is look
